The country of Yu was a wealthy country on the north shore of the southern continent. Over the years the trade to the northern continent benefited them greatly.
In this large prosperous town several cultivators sat out meditating under the shade of cool trees. Open parks and stone buildings flourished in the background, as mortals passed too and from.
"Did you hear that nasty rumour?" Eric a young man asked the group, eyes still closed, as they all began to come out of their respective meditative states.
"That one about the Devil lord of the southern shore?" the female asked, young with long hair she took to her feet drawing out a small feather.
"My master says he fell in one strike." Eric joyfully exclaimed.
"You master should be mindful of his words." A powerful but calm voice rang out.
The students turned an all at once fell to their knees bowing. "We apologize too our great king!" They almost yelled.
An old man stood over the group of children looking old, grey beard hanging low. Too his side was a man looking quite angry. The old man spoke gesturing to his companion; "I'm sure you know of Edward the 'Devil of the South." He will be staying in the capital for a few months." Looking to Edward, who was now in the body of an old man from the Grey Forest. "These are students from my personal school, I hope you can forgive their foolish indiscretions?"
"These children are of no concern, in exchange for your assistance - you should be well aware of what I will do." Edward said walking of sluggishly.
The old king pulled out several rolls of paper handing them to the students. "These are countries in the south shore, while our guest is recovering his nascent soul you will all watch the actions of the south shore."
Eric looked shocked "are we expected..."
Before he could finish the king interrupted "you will avoid the Island country known as South star Island. If the Cultivator of core strength leaves that island you are to contact me with this." The king handed of a few jade slips and turned in the direction of Edward quickly disappearing.
For a few moments, the children stood in silence before heading off to pack.
