On South star Island Hatzu had not changed much. He soon found that the jade was the emperors seal for the country, this allowed him access to the defence formation as well as ownership over the land.
Realizing he had such strength he left the Grey Forest Academy in the control of the protectors, heading towards the capital city. Kray was a costal city known for its trade. Few immortal academies existed through out the city and outlining region but like the rest of the country none reached core formation.
As Hatzu walked through the city he drew much attention. Circulating Qi through his eyes as he scanned for fellow cultivators Hatzu shocked the passing mortals and petrified near by cultivators.
After walking about the city, he noticed most cultivators cowering, so he left them in peace making way to the city centre. Soon sensing him leaving the cultivators grew interested and a crowed began to follow him on mass.
At the centre of the city Hatzu found a small stone monument and perched himself on top beginning to cultivate. After a few hours, the mass of cultivators sat at the foot of the monument and began cultivating under his presence.
As Hatzu opened his eyes to the sea of cultivators he felt elated. "I am the mortal cultivator Hatzu, I have taken this country from the hands of the Nascent Soul Edward."
With this statement the entire crowd broke out in conversation before a loud voice rang out overtop from a late formation cultivator. "What about the immortal assembly?"
"I am a mortal Cultivator; I know nothing of immortal tradition or actions" Hatzu replied. "Explain it to me and we will deal with it."
"The immortal assembly is an organization that taxes Immortals and countries in exchange for protection. They gift control of counties to cultivators based on strength or exchange." The man replied.
Hatzu fished out a Jade slip, "this is the Emperor's seal" the crowd broke out in gasps "I will be the most fair of leaders, as for the immortal tax – continue to pay it as you always have."
"What does mortal cultivator mean?"
"What will you do with this country?"
"How deep is esteemed master's cultivation?
The crowd began shouting over top of each other causing Hatzu's head to spin. Circulating Qi around to his chest lungs, neck and mouth shouting about.
The ground rumbled and the cultivators fell to the ground. The island nation rumbled, ripples formed in the ocean and the nearby nations could hear the faint sound of his voice.
"I am Hatzu, the mortal cultivator and I have claimed South Star Island as my own. Any Cultivators who hear this are to bring me a copy of all their books within one year. The city of Kray will become my personal school, "Southern Star Academy"
As Hatzu finished speaking he stood up an flew off towards the most central tower in the city.
After finding a suitable room Hatzu took a seat pulling out several bottles of pills and Spiritual cores. Feeling depleted his single remaining core was beginning to crack. Quickly consuming his supplies and meditating, Hatzu seemed shocked that the core was not filling but Instead depleted with every circulation, widening his Qi channels. The pills strengthen his body but at a cost of his Qi.
Feeling disparities Hatzu slowly began giving up on his cultivation. Retiring to books and recipes, he started to collect again – looking for a solution.
People slowly left the capital and other areas of the nation began to flourish from the influx of trade. Within Krey only a few cultivators and mortals stayed behind. As Hatzu needed things done he would simply leave the task to another. Maintenance, gardens, library's everything was taken care of.
Hatzu strolled through the city and would from time to time revive gifts and disciples. In this manner a library amassed on the southern shore covering the most complete introduction to cultivation.
Hatzu often spent his days wandering amongst this library. Searching books and reading long into the night. Often other cultivators would seek him here.
"Esteemed master Hatzu, I have brought a gift in exchange for a question" a young cultivator asked. The woman was mid foundation and dressed in red.
"Ahh a familiar face, what can I do for you?" Hatzu asked closing his book.
Sarah took out two books and placed them down "these are the books my master sent as per your request."
Hatzu took the books and began to flip through, "this is all?" He asked
"This is the only book our students need, and this" she said pointing to the older book. " Is the original with nothing redacted. Our sect was here long before the nascent souls where purged from this land."
"Fine this is an acceptable exchange, what question do you have?"
"As you may remember I am Sarah, and I would like to become your apprentice on behalf of my academies masters. They say I am likely to reach core formation stage." Sarah said bowing softly.
"This master does not turn away apprentices. First I wish for you to find and raise spiritual beast." Hatzu said standing up. "You may seek me out when you need, choose any unmarked door and make it your home. Before you leave place this on a shelf." He asked pushing the copy to Sarah and taking up the original.
"For now, I have things to attend to." As Hatzu walked out Sarah was shocked.
She looked around and took notice of a nearby mortal, "does the master always accept disciples?"
"I am one of those accepted disciples" he said lifting the book, "I care for this floor of the library, do not take books out and when you are done leave the books out, I will place them where they belong." As he began to walk away Sarah stopped him.
"How can a mortal become a disciple! Can you also cultivate?" She asked?
The mortal stopped and turned around laying the book on the table. "My name is Troy, first show me this human cultivation technique."
Sarah flipped the book open a page and turned it to Troy "I am Sarah, the methods I know of for mortals is to carve a rune into a core that matches the one on their body. Placing the core into a weapon one can draw out enormous power."
As Troy read through, he began to laugh when he sat down. "You can read it in the master's book for mortal cultivation, but the path is simple and limited. One can consume a core and use its energies."
"You actually eat it!" She asked shocked "How do you deal with the out flow of Qi?"
"Near constant mediation, even when walking or talking, then potions." Troy added.
"Does he teach all of this to everyone?" Sarah asked, watching Troy as he stood.
"Third floor of the central library has a room with only one book, you can take one for a price."
"Serious?" Sarah asked shocked.
"Furthermore, the second floor will sell items and the top floor will give away seeds for crops." Troy said making a few notes on a piece of paper.
"Anything else I should know?" She questioned now more grateful.
"Pick a large house with land if you are expected to raise animals. There is a chapter in the master's book." he finished pushing a letter to her "You can reach me here, if you have any questions I mean."
With that Troy released his spiritual energy from his core infusing it into the Ink seal. Sarah moved back in shock as a force she could only assume was core level fell upon the room.
