Chereads / Boss at First Sight / Chapter 4 - Blaze

Chapter 4 - Blaze

Amerylla Morning-Dew groaned as she stared at the ground.

"Why is today going so bad for me?", she asked herself.

First, someone had unintentionally spilled coffee on her on her first day of work and hadn't even bothered to apologize. When she'd confronted her, it had turned into a push and shove situation which had end up tearing the armpit of her suit. Luckily, no one could see it as long as she kept her arm down.

Then she'd slipped on some water and fallen over the photocopier machine.

The last straw had been when she'd accidentally mixed two files and innocently given them to the wrong clients. And now she's lost her first job in months on her first day of work.

She lifted her eyes, intending to stare at the sky and complain when her eyes darted to a form walking to a group of three men.

The Lockheart Brothers.

They were known to be handsome, rich and notorious. The most eligible bachelors in the city who were proud of their 'very' single status.

She couldn't take her eyes off him, his eyes were glued to his phone as he strode elegantly in his Armani shirt, his expensive shoes biting into the grass beneath his feet.

He looked like morning dew.

Blaze Lockheart.

The youngest of four Lockheart Brothers, Bryant Lockheart, Serial Lockheart, and Trevon Lockheart.

"Did she break up with you again?"

Blaze turned a steely gaze onto his second eldest brother, Serial.

"For the last time, she didn't break up with me. I broke up with her. There's a difference Siri", Blaze almost shouted.

Trevon and Bryant who had been trying to hold in their laughter all this time finally gave up and let out a few deep laughs. The three elders were obviously enjoying teasing their youngest brother.

But Blaze didn't seem to be having any of that fun.

"Boys....boys....what have I told you about picking on your baby brother?", A beautiful dark haired woman walked out and asked.

Blaze groaned, "Ma, I've told you not to call me a baby", he complained.

"Blaze baby.... you'll always be my baby"

"Ma...", he groaned again.

Silva Lockheart, millionaire and majority shareholder of the Lockheart Foundation smiled at her youngest son, obviously proud to have four beautiful sons. Howler Lockheart, their father joined them with a huge grin on his face.

"Ma and Pa, why have you called us here?. We're busy men", Trevon complained

Howler rolled his eyes "Yeah, sure. Of course you're busy"

Silva scoffed a little at her husband's childish reaction and smiled.

"Boys, boys...calm down your grandma only wants to have dinner with you", she said.

Every single one of the brothers frowned instantly.

"Grandma never invites us for dinner without an ulterior motive", Trevon noted.

"Yeah, the last time she invited us over was last month. She had bought an island then and she had used that very island to bribe Bryant into getting married", Blaze added in a bored voice.

Serial laughed, "Okay, does Grandmami scare you second little brother?, he asked Trevon

"Don't mess with me second elder brother", Trevon outrightly answered.

Trevon wasn't the type to be messed with. He took bull and literally made shit out of it. He was the only one who could stand up to Serial and win. And that is to say something, considering the fact that only Siri can stand up to Howler Lockheart.

Blaze snickered at his second and third brothers. They were so childish and immature.

As soon as everyone took their seats behind the humongous dining table, their grandma Marigold Lowis-Brute sat down with a huge grin.

"Look at all of you looking so dashing", she complimented them.

The boys shared a look with each other and Bryant smirked. Their grandma was never the one to easily give compliments, even to her own grandsons. And they caught that subtle compliment. Their suspicions about tgis not being a casual dinner skyrocketed.

The family began their dinner, making small talk as everyone cut and ate their food like the top class family they were.

After the table was cleared, Marigold cleared her throat, a subtle way of abbouncing that she had something to say.

Trevon quirked an eyebrow.

Bryant smiled.

Blaze frowned.

And Serial bit his lip in anticipation.

While their parents only hid mischievious smiles.

"So boys...tell me....when are you intiducing the women you're seeing to me?",

Trevon choked on air.

Bryant smile dropped.

Blaze's frown deepened.

And Serial instantly took a sip of wine.

Their parents only smiled.

"I'm getting old and I want to see my beautiful grandsons married to pretty sweet girls and having adorable little babies before I die. I cannot die peacefully without that wish being fulfilled"

The boys knew their grandma was up to her old blackmailing tricks again and they seriously didn't know how to deal with her when she was being stubborn and unyeilding like this.

"Look Grandma...", Trevon begun but got cut off by Serial.

"We understand you perfectly. But, we'll only introduce them when we're ready and you're not forcing us till then. We all know you're not dying anytime soon, you've been doing this every time you want your way"

"That's true Gran, I'm sorry but this time I'm with Trevon" Bryant added.

Blaze on the other hand sat there nonchalantly and watched the drama between his brothers and their grandma unfold.

He couldn't be bothered especially since he knew his parents were both involved as well. He could see it from their smug expressions.

After a while of listening to the constant back and forth arguments, he grabbed Serial's wine and downed the entire glass. His own glass was already empty and he turned towards Trevon's but the elder quickly pulled his glass away leaving Blaze without a choice.

He stood up, straightened hia clothes and let out a small graon as he stretched his rather tense muscles.

"Not be rude Grandmami, but I had a really rough day hence I'm very tired and would love a hot bath and some rest so I'll be the first to leave".

He walked over to his Grandma and gently kissed her cheek, whispering "You should doing this, you're just getting your hpes up", and then smiling before walking to the door.

His grandma shouted after him, "You better bring a girl next time you come Blaze"

Blaze turned witha sexy smirk on his lips, "Love you too Grandma" and then he was out the door.

Marigold glared at Howler and Silva.

"How did you two raise him?...He's too stubborn and rude. I bet no woman will fall for him. How will he get married with that attitude?"

The other three brothers shrugged, getting up to leave as well.

"Bye Grandma, bye mom and dad"

Marigold suddenly smiled, a mischievous idea immediately popping into her mind.

Just you wait Blaze.
