Amerylla sat outside the small office and fidgeted with her hands. They were many people that had lined up for the job of kindergarten teacher.
About three days ago, her sister, Shayda had called to inform her about an opening at the local school and here she was, looking to snatch the job, only to meet a hundred other job-depraved and desperate applicants. She sighed. Perhaps it would have been better if she hadn't come at all. She would have preferred to stay in bed all day rather than interview for a job she may never have. It was necessarily her being negative, she just didn't want to get her hopes up only to get solely disappointed.
Even the fiesty one among her sisters, Jayda had found something to do and here she was still jobless. Just then her phone rang and she pulled it out.
"Hello Jayda", she answered with a tired voice
"Hey you, is everything going fine?", her sis her asked.
Amerylla smiled.
"well if you call a hundred other applicants being here fine then yes I'm fine Jade". A short laugh filled her ears as her sister burst into one.
"Look Amy, it's gonna be fine. Just get in there and do your best. I'm sure things will work out fine. Besides Shayda is here and she can't stop fidgeting nervously, I wonder if she's a psychic."
Amy only nodded with a small smile
"Okay sis. And tell Shayda I'm okay, she doesn't need to worry about me and she's no psychic, I might get the job you know. Miracles do happen. ", just then her name was called and she stood up saying goodbye to her sister and then cutting the call.
As she walked the shirt distance to the office, she couldn't help but let her nerves take control. She took a deep breath and paryed shortly in her head. Her shaky hand found the handle of the door and she slowly let herself in.
"Good morning", she whispered.
No Response...
"Please take a seat", a voice said after a whole minute so she sat on the chair that had been provided and tried not to fidget with her fingers in her lap.
"Amerylla Morning-Dew?", the voice asked again.
"Yes", she nodded with a straight face. Keeping a blank face in this case was better than letting her fear of not getting the job show on her face.
"I can see you don't have any experiebce whatsoever", the voice continued and she gulped.
"However I have worked in the manufacturing industry for a week"
"Yeah I can see that. You've lost seven jobs in seven companies on your first day consecutively for a week. I can see it written very boldly here, as if you were proud of it. I must say you're pretty honest or maybe you think we're joking over here", the voice scolded her.
Amerylla took a deep breath and sighed.
"Why do you think you're qualified for the job", the voice finally asked after five minutes of flipping through her resume.
She sighed knowing she had already lost the job even before she could get it. There was nobreason to hold back now, even if she did, she was not going to get the job anyway so might as well let it all out.
"I believe I am more than qualified for this job because I am honest, hardworking and committed. And I will do my best to instill these rare qualitues in the kids if im given the opportunity to do so. Thank you", she finished.
"Thank you, you may leave now"
Amerylla nodded, grabbing her bag and exiting the room. Once she was out the door, she took a deep breath and sighed in relief.
Meanwhile, Blaze Lockheart was really having a bad day. How did he end up signing a contract with the jerk before him?
"Look Ashwin, it's 35% or no deal", he said rudely to the man before him.
Ashwin smirked, "Make it 45 and I'll take it"
Blaze licked his lips, obviously sizing the man up " I guess it's a no deal then, I must say I was having a bad day but you've ruined it completely so thanks"
Ashwin let out a laugh, "Okay fine 36, how about that?".
Blaze rolled his eyes, "Have a good day"
Ashwin let a fake laugh and then smiled, "Okay fine 35, I'll take it".
A poker face on, Blaze blinked in boredom "Okay, you can sign it now or later. But remember...i can change my mind and my offer may go down the more you delay the signing"
Rude bastard, Ashwin thought before letting out another fake smile.
"I'll sign it now"
Blaze let out a smug smile, "Good choice Mr. Ranawat"
He passed a couple of papers to the Indian architecture guru and raised a brow.
Ashwin took one last look at Blaze before grabbing the pen beside the papers and putting his signature on them.
Blaze was only glad after he saw Ashwin step out of his office. The relief he felt was immense so he decided to call it a day.
Just as he stepped out of his office, he heard his secretary talking on the phone. Not one to listen in on someone else's converstion, he walked to the elevator and pressed a button.
"No ma'am he just closed. Yes ma'am"
He stepped into the elevator watching Kate Teller, his secretary as she busily gave bank account details to the person she was talking to on the phone.
The doors finally closed and he sighed. Just then his phone rang and he stared for a full minute at the caller ID.
"Amani Vidal"...
Blaze immediately dumped the phone in the nearest bin the moment he walked out of the elevator. He walked briskly to the parking lot and smiled at his baby, a sports car he'd bought last week and named Dyonic.
Just as he was about to open it, he saw a long scratch on the driver's side. His eyes widened in shock as a kid appeared from underneath the car, a huge annoying smile plastered on his small face.
"What the--"...before he could finish his cussing, a woman immediately followed the kid, popping out from underneath the car.
