Chapter 7 - Pranksters Style

Amerylla's pov

I was so excited when I got a call from the school I had interviewed for as a daycare teacher.

It was so great that I got the job. I have been babysitting Drake for 2 days already and even that was a temporary job that Mrs Dolores offered whenever she was too busy.

I jumped excitedly and fist bumped the air. I immediately called my sisters on conference call.

"hey Amy, is there a reason why you called me early in the morning?" Shayda asked in her really cute-nasally morning voice.

"Hello sister of mine, are you calling to let us know you that you didn't pass the interview?. it's okay, we already knew that" Jayda also asked with deep morning voice.

I let out an abrupt fake, weird laugh that sounded even wrong to my own ears.

"well no, and before you all job to baseless conclusions....i....got....myself...."

"fired?" - Shayda

"kicked out?" - Jayda.

"Oh God no!, I got a new job okay?. Can't you two have a little faith in your sister?", I asked in an annoyed tone.

"Well then congratulations little sister", they both said together, genuinely surprised but happy that I got a job.

New daycare teacher....here I come.

I stepped into the class on Monday feeling super wxcited for my first day. I was assigned to my class and I smiled when the cuties stood up politely to greet their new teacher.

Suddenly, someone entered the class.

"don't mind me, its just teacher assessment"

I nodded with a smile, and introduced myself to my new disciples. They all seemed ecstatic to meet me and I had a feeling that I might be keeping this job for longer.

After 10 minutes, I saw as the assessor finally left, I took a deep breath and physically relaxed. It was a little suffocating to have someone staring at you on your first day of work.

Soon it was break and I took my students to the school park. I was surprised to see Shayda's boyfriend and her best friend sitting in a car parked near the building. I averted my eues and faced my students who were eager to start playing.

"Okay kids, we shall be playing with the balls soon". They all geared happily and I couldn't help but slowly feel attached to the adorable kids before me.

I handed the balls over and watched them form groups. They began to play dodge ball and I sat on the bench to watch them.

When I lifted my eyes, I saw a colleague female teacher walking briskly towards me

"I'll take your kids for now, the principal wants to see you"

What??? See me ???. Did I do something wrong?? Are they not supposed to play dodgeball?...Am I going to lose my job on my first day again?.

I smiled and thanked her, before heading towards the principal's office. My heart was pounding madly in my chest. All too soon, I was feeling like a child who had gotten into a fight and was scared of being scolded.

Gulping, I grabbed the handle of the door and opened it slowly, sticking my head into the room.

"Hello Sir?"

"Aah Miss Morning-Dew, just the person I wanted to see"

With that, I fully stepped into the room and waited.

"Uhm, please have a seat"

And so I sat down, nervously fidgeting. I was a habit any time I got scared.

"Miss Morning-Dew, I know you have been here for less than a day and within that time you have shown a great attitude to work and patience"

I smiled at the praise as some of the nervousness eased.

"....However", he continued and I frowned "I am very sorry but you would have to find a new job".

"What??????.... Why?"....

"I am truly sorry but it is beyond my control", he whispered in a sad tone.

"beyond your control?", I asked immediately.

This was a new achievement, even for me. Getting fired after working for half a day?. My usual would be an entire day.

"What do you mean out of your control?"

He didn't bother to answer and I found myself walking out. I immediately went to my desk and decided not to say goodbye to the kids. It would be way too awkward and depressing.

I took the exit by the juniors block and was attempting to crawl away when a hand pulled me so swiftly, I was left dizzy.

When the dizziness cleared, I found myself staring at the Arrogant man from a fee days back.

I shook my head disbelievingly and headed for the door, intending to leave when his words stopped me

"I hope you enjoyed the half day. I mean I was actually considering letting you spend a full day but then that would have too generous of me. Wouldn't you agree?".

I turned angry eyes at him.

"why?.Why did you do this?", I asked defeatedly. "This was supposed to be my first semi-permanent job in months and you ruined it!. Why would you do that?"

"Its actually simple...shall we think it over?...Uhm, because you owe me?", he said with a wink

I smiled at that even though I was seething on the inside. All I wanted to do was knee him in the crouch and leave him there in pain. Good thing, I am very good with controlling my anger.

"I mean too bad then, because I would have loved to pay you back", I said "but turns out I just lost my job, you know. Therefore I don't have a job any longer and I won't be able to pay back what I owe"

His lips curved up in a smirk, one that made him look really handsome. Until now, I hadn't even noticed his emerald eyes and they way they shined with mischief and authority. And until now I didn't know whether to nelieve that the Blaze Lockheart I had admired from afar was so unbearable at close range.

I've known him for only two days but I was confident enough to say that he was the single most stubborn and arrogant-annoying person I've ever met. The guy just didn't know when to quit.

"Well then you're in luck. I might just have a job for you Amerylla Morning-Dew..."
