The wolves debated for a while until Thannon took control. Standing tall, he howled loudly causing Kiro's bones to rattle.
"We shall send scouts and take our home back. Shekiah, retrieve the blade of the forest as a gift to our hepler. Kiro Higame, ypu should wait here is safty." Thannon finished the meeting and they all left the hidden cave inside the giant oak.
Kiro couldn't help but walk around their village in awe. The were tribal yet had a distinct civil way about them. There were things for trade and some things given away for free as part of the tribe. At least in the human town, it had still felt like old Earth. Here, however, it truely seemed to be a new world. The people were rushing about for Thannon and his new conquest to secure the forest under the pack's control. Kiro noted four different types.
The more human type only had the ears and tails of a wolf, the furry type had the faces of wolves and the body type but stood on two legs, the actual wolves and then what could only be considered halflings. They had wolf heads but human bodies or vice versa which really boggled Kiro's mind for some reason.
Kiro checked his pockets and pulled out his worn wallet. He wasn't even sure how it could be of use here. It only had a little money and his I.D. in it.
"Could I trade anything for this?" Kiro asked holding up his wallet to the woman in front of a stall.
"Sorry, I don't need that. What's the shiny braclet worth though?" The woman's eyes sparkled as she stared at Kiro's watch. To be honest, it wasn't worth much, but Kiro didn't tell her that. He traded his watch for a leather bag and an enchanted container that always refilled with water. Using moisture in the air.
"Kiro Higame!" Kiro turned to see one of the wolf girls that had been at the meeting. Her clothes covered everything, but it still made Kiro feel embarrassed just to look at her. Especially when she ran.
"You know, Kiro work's just fine." He rubbed the back of his head trying to look anywhere else but her chest.
"I-I see. Okay, Kiro. Thannon wishes to see you." Her shy demeanor was strange considering her body type. He was sure girls like her were always confident.
"Can we keep her?" Toma asked snuggling into her chest as much as he could. Kiro was really surprised she didn't feel that.
"What's your name?" Kiro asked trying to break the silence as they walked.
"Oh! I guess you wouldn't know. I'm so used to everyone knowing that I... Nevermind. I'm Leda." Her shy voice had a hidden tone Kiro couldn't place. He wanted to ask more but they were already at Thannon's cave. Kiro still found it amazing how these cave were formed right in the forest and connected so completely while still holding it's woodsy vibe.
"There you are. We have retrieved the blade of the forrest. I've sent Rosha to fetch it for us, but there is another favor I wish to ask of you." Thannon suddenly got quiet causing Kiro to get a little suspicious of the treatment he'd recieved so far. Reminded him too much of his boss who buttered him up for favors.
