Chapter 37 - Noah Oliver

Blake gets up at the middle of the night, going towards the front door. He had ordered the expensive Chinese technology. He gets the box and poors the pieces on the living room floor. 'Shoot, there are so many pieces.' It takes Blake about an hour, but he puts the machine together. "It's a simple dna receptor" he quotes from the box, "Oh please." He goes up the stairs to enter his parents room. She slowly creeks the door open, and he sees them peacefully sleeping. He takes his cotton swab and swabs the inside of his mother's mouth. "Weird place to find dna. How does that even relate to eggs and babies," Blake whispers.

Blake leaves the room and enters his sisters room. He pulls off the cover, and she's gone. "Ava?" He silently whispers, "Avaa?" His eyes wonder to the attic, and he pulls the ladder down. He starts climbing up faster when he hears a thud. "Ava.. what are you doing?" And it was a sight to behold. Ava was in a nightgown, holding the lightning bolt in her hand. The lightning bolt was shooting power into her, which made her fall back. Ava doesn't know what to say, she didn't expect anyone to be up this late. She decided to just say the truth.

"Sorry, I was playing with it.." She sits the bolt down. "Oh my lord Ava.. What were you thinking? You have to be careful. Only Titans can control that bolt, so you could've gotten burned. Bad." "Wait.. burned?" "Uhm YEAH!" "Then why am I still okay?" Ava twirls the bolt in her fingers. "I... don't know.. I guess it would make since for you to be a Titan if I was a Titan, but you are also a mermaid. Oh my god," Blake throws his head back, "This has never been done in history. A Titan with both powers? Two Titans born from the same parents? And not in the olden days? And our parents are merpeople? They could get killed for this." "Well one of our parents must be a Titan. Where else would we get these genes from?"

"I don't know.. but anyways, I came up here to get your dna." "Ew why?" "I bought the machine." Ava looked shocked for a second, but it was gone in a flash. They both run downstairs, and Ava stares at the machinery. "Wow." "I know right." Ava takes the swab from his hand and swabs around her mouth. Then, they both insert the sticks into the machine. It sucks them in, and after a few minutes, it says complete. They had done it. And just in time too, because soon, the pills her mother took would kick in for the baby.

MORNING, 9AM

Everyone around the breakfast table is tense. Ariel and Eric think they finally got rid of the baby, so they feel a tad guilty. Ava started having pains, and Blake doesn't know how to approach what they did. "Mom, dad, don't get mad," Blake says. "Depends. Are you going to tell me that Athena died or that Ava is pregnant with my baby?" "ATHENA DIED?"

Ava starts to break out in tears, but she hears the familiar scurrying of Athena's feet, so she rolls her eyes at her mom and wipes her face. "Mom.. Im pregnant. But technically it's my baby now. He now has my genes. And I have a name for him." Eric is silent through all of this, but you can tell he is secretly happy. "W-what's the name," her mother stutters. "It's Noah Oliver. Noah Oliver Reid." Ariel thinks on this. "You're still using the queens last name? Use mine." "You never told me yours." "It's Hansel. Ariel Hansel. Never really used it that much since the first time I married, but I do want you and my grandson to go by it." "Alright, it's the least I can do. Noah Oliver Hansel."
