These last few days for Ava have been rocky. First, she feels like all her parents do is lie, so what if they had another secret? Second, Noah Oliver was being more active, which made Ava exhausted. He wasn't even one yet, but he's starting to babble a lot more. And, he is figuring out how to crawl. HE'S TWO FRICKING WEEKS OLD!! Third, Blake has been distancing himself from Ava, making her uneasy. When she left the table that day, did Blake believe in her reasoning or her dads? But its so weird, Blake has been giving her little signals. Sometimes he would do sign language, which was weird because Ava didn't know sign language. Then another time, he signaled her to meet him, but she was too angry at that point.
She let all that pass from her brain as she scans the hallway, making sure no one was present. Content, Ava walks through the hallway, only to fall face first into Blake. Well, his chest. She falls back, regains her motive, then walks past him. He holds her arm, looking at her. 'What does he want? I'm trying to get Noah Oliver food! And myself..' "Ava, we need to talk." Ava doesn't respond, still trying to pull away. "Ava please. What did I even do? You're so petty." Ava looks at him. 'Seems sincere enough. Eh, too bad.' Ava slaps him, making a deafening sound. Noah Oliver starts crying as Blake lets out a yelp. Ava fleets from the scene, getting Noah Oliver's Bottle.
Blake is not upset, that would be an understatement. Ava just slapped him, all because he wanted to talk. He's been trying to get her to meet him for a week, trying to tell her Eric's secret. Maybe its not meant to be shared, but he was determined. She has to know, it could change her way of thinking about Eric, Ariel, and maybe even himself. He was scared that she would be mad at him for keeping the secret, but he tried to put that aside. She just had to know. Blake watches as Ava puts the bottle on the bottle heater machine. He's used that machine plenty of times to know it takes at least three minutes. That was enough.
"Hey, Ava." Ava swings her fist at him, but he catches it. "Ava, look. You're gonna want to listen." Ava turns slightly, with a bored look on her face. She rolls her eyes and waits for him to speak, looking at his eyes. She did this trick to figure out if someone was lying. Blake gulps, and moves her to sit down at the table. "Uhm... I don't know what to say. Here is his secret, but don't get mad at me for keeping it, okay?" Ava nods her head, still too angry to speak. "Dad.. isn't who you think he is. Well, he is! But... he isn't as kind as you think." "What?" Ava looks at Blake, waiting for an answer to her neverending questions. 'Was he a killer? Did he do something really bad to mom? To me? Did he really cheat on Mom? Is he hypnotizing me to make me think he's my dad?" "I'll bet its none of the things you're thinking right now. It's far, far worse."
