It was the next day and everyone is eating their homemade breakfast. Ava decided to learn how to cook since she would have to live on her own one day with Noah, but it didn't turn out as planned. She had managed to burn down half the house in thirty minutes, the food is horrible, and somehow she fricked up the drink. "This is... awesome," Blake said, holding in his disgust. 'God, Noah is lucky. All he eats is applesauce.' "Don't lie guys. I know you hate my food.." At that moment, everyone spits it out, laughing. Even Katie joined in! Ava brings out the food she ordered from Waffle House, also laughing. She brings it to the table, and everyone gets a large breakfast meal. After they ate, Katie went outside to 'enjoy the air.' Ava decides to join her but overhears her conversation. "Yeah, everything is going to plan. I don't think they know yet. I'm very sneaky. Anyway, talk to you later. The time is coming."
'The time is coming,' Ava thinks, 'She's very sneaky? What's going on..' Ava goes back to her room where Blake is getting Noah to sleep. "Blake, Katie is suspicious." "Any proof?" "She was talking about being sneaky and the time is coming and-" "Come back when you have real proof. And Katie seems fine, just leave her alone." "Do you like her?" "What does that have to do with anything?" Blake leads her out and closes the door. "You used to stand up for me, and now you're standing up for some stranger with an average backstory? Who says she isn't lying??" "She's not!! You're just JEALOUS because you aren't getting as much attention and your frickin food taste like DOG POOP!" "You're just GETTING UPSET because you are HEAD OVER HEELS FOR A GIRL FROM THE STREETS!!" Blake scoffs and spots Katie listening. Katie rushes away, acting hurt. "You just don't know when to stop, do you?" Blake runs after Katie.
Katie lands in the living room, in front of the fire. "You okay?" Blakes jet black hair glistens as he sits next to her. Katie slightly moves away, not wanting him to get too attached to her. He would hate her when he finds out about her plan. "Yeah, I'm fine.." "It doesn't seem like it. Listen, Ava can say some pretty messed up stuff. She just gets angry, that's all. She didn't mean it." Blake shuffles closer, putting his hand around her lower waist. Katie looks over at him, regretting it again. Blake leans in and kisses her. She returns it, closing her eyes slowly. Blake notices her lips feel crusty, but he doesn't mention it. He is about to go deeper when she pulls back. "I should go talk to Ava. Let her know that I forgive her." "Yeh, sure." "Katie removes his hand and runs up the stairs, content on setting Ava straight.
"Hey, Ava.." "What do you want? I meant those words. I don't trust you." "Well, you're going to have to learn to trust me." Katie brings out a small gun. She loads it and stares at Ava. "You will trust me, or I'll have to kill you." "Why are you here?" "Let's say I'm on a mission. Wouldn't want Noah to be an orphan, so get out my way." Ava's face is blank. She glances over at Noah, sound asleep. "What were we talking about again?" "Perfect." Ava rolls on the bed, facing away from Katie. She didn't want to see that ugly smirk of success plastered on her face.
