It had been a long, uneventful flight, and Finian hadn't been able to relax at all. It felt like every hour that passed brought Dorian closer to getting sick again. Finian felt stressed.
When the red-haired man arrived at Narita International Airport, it was late in the evening. He hadn't hesitated at all when the kids told him about Shiro going back to Japan. In an instant, he booked a seat on the next departing flight. And even though Dorian objected, Finian boarded the plane. After everything that had happened, Finian was convinced that Shiro didn't plan to come back to London. When Finian waited for the connecting flight in Helsinki, he called Shiro, and his suspicion was confirmed. Shiro was obviously scared and not knowing what to do, he had gone back to his daughter, and probably planned to stay there even if that would mean the death of him.
Finian knew that it would have been better if Dorian was the one to bring Shiro back, but he also knew that Dorian would never do that. His husband's new stubbornness surprised Finian. Dorian had never been so thick-headed before. And even if he had promised not to make trouble anymore, Dorian couldn't bring himself to be active about the whole thing it either.
Perhaps Dorian thought the same of him that Finian was the stubborn one. But Finian refused to let his husband get hurt. And the alpha didn't want Shiro to hurt either. So Finian decided to fight with everything he got.
There hadn't been any problem for Finian to find out where Shiro lived. The singer's fans had loads of websites dedicated to him, and the paparazzi stalked his home 24/7. His whole life was on public display. Honestly, it took Finian little by surprise. He realized that he hadn't understood how big of a star Shiro was in his home country. Not until Finian arrived in Tokyo, and saw the singers face and name on newspapers, billboards and merchandise in stores. There were even pictures of Shiro and Dorian on some of the publications, and Finian felt a bit irritated when he saw it. How could people find any interest in reading about things like that? Gossiping about so-called celebrities. Finian thought it was pretty sad.
Outside the airport, in the chill evening air, Finian got a taxi to drive him to where Shiro lived. And when the red-haired man stood in front of the guarded entryway to the tall building, he finally realized that it was in the middle of the night, and he didn't even know if Shiro was home. Well, Finian wasn't one to panic, and calm as always he picked up his phone and called Shiro's number.
It took several minutes before Shiro answered, and it was with a sleepy voice he mumbled forth an "Hai?"
"Sorry to wake you up, but could you let me in? I'm standing outside your house."
It was quiet for a little while, but then a Finian heard an "Uh?" And Shiro started to move around.
"Finian?"
"Yeah, it's me."
Shiro didn't say anything more, but Finian could hear his footsteps, doors that opened and closed, and then an elevator. Finian couldn't help but smile, and when he saw Shiro through the glass door, with a bedhead and black baggy clothes, he laughed.
Shiro said something to the man in the reception, and the person walked towards the door and opened it, letting Finian in with a courteous bow.
Finian walked in and up to Shiro. He laughed again when he saw the other man's confused expression.
"Hi Shiro," he said and put his arms around the shorter man, giving him a gentle hug.
Shiro, still confused and groggy from sleep, just stared at Finian.
"Can we go to your apartment? I think there are some photographers out in the bushes."
That made all the tiredness go away, and Shiro looked over Finian's shoulders. Just in time for a photographer to show his face with a camera and a flash of light lightened up the entree.
"Fuck! Come with me," he said and grasped Finian's hand, pulling the red-haired man along with him to the elevator.
The two men didn't say a word until they were inside the apartment, which was dark, and not a sound could be heard.
"Where's Ikumi?" Finian whispered when they got to the living room, and he sat down on the sofa, exhausted.
"Sleeping, but what the hell are you doing here?"
Shiro sat beside him, and Finian could hear the confusion in his voice.
"To convince you to come back, of course!"
Shiro stared at him with an expression of disbelief.
"You could have just asked me to come back."
"Well, you hanged upon me, and I panicked."
Shiro looked down. He looked so sad, and Finian could feel his pain. He gripped the younger man's hand in his, and Finian's green eyes were filled with compassion.
"Talk to me, Shiro. Why did you leave?"
"Dorian doesn't want me. He made that very clear. And when you told me about the side effects of the drug, I realized that Dorian doesn't give a shit about what happens with either him or me so long as he doesn't have to be with me. So I left," Shiros voice trembled, and he bit his underlip, trying hard not to cry.
Finian sighed to himself, cursing his foolish husband.
"I understand Sweetheart. Dorian messed up, and he knows it. But forget about him for a little while and think about your own life. If you don't go back, you will die, and many people love you, you know. And think about Ikumi, your daughter needs her father."
Shiro listened quietly to Finian's compassionate speech. He didn't say a word, but tears slowly fell on his cheeks.
"I'm sorry, Finian. You are such a great person, and here I am, starting to fall in love with your husband. I'm scum."
Shiro couldn't keep in the sobs, and he burst out crying. Finian took him in his arms, and held him close, gently stroking Shiro's trembling back.
"Don't feel bad about that, Sweetheart. Dorian is a great man and good looking too. And with him being your fated pair, there is no wonder that you are attracted to him."
"So why don't you hate me?" Shiro sounded so small, so fragile.
"Why would I hate you? Just because we both love the same man? No, I don't hate you. I just want you to be good to my husband. Can you do that?"
Shiro looked at Finian for a long time. Trying to process what Finian just had said. How kindhearted and understanding could a person be?
"And what if Dorian falls in love with me? Could you accept that?"
Finian looked at Shiro for a long time, like he was contemplating what Shiro asked. Then he nodded.
"Yes, I can accept that. But I don't have any intention of giving up on Dorian, or our marriage, even if he does."
"What do you mean?"
"Well, we simply have to share him then, don't we?"
Shiro's eyes grew big, and his mouth opened, he was bewildered.
"Share him? Would you agree to that?"
"Yeah, I would. I have gotten to know you pretty well during these weeks, and I think you're a remarkable guy. You're intelligent, got a great sense of humor, and you're very thoughtful of others. You also seem like a good father to your daughter. And being Dorian's fated pair, he belongs to you as much as he does to me."
Shiro just stared at the other man, like he couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"But if I'm going, to be honest with you. It has taken some time. Knowing that you two had sex the other night, hurt so bad that I thought I was going to die. But I'm sure that I will get used to it, and slowly start regarding your relationship as natural as mine is with him.
"You are strange," Shiro said perplexed, and Finian laughed at that.
"Perhaps I am, but so are you. I can't understand how you possibly could start to fall in love with Dorian when all he's been is an asshole towards you."
"I don't want to call him an asshole, though," Shiro objected to Finian's surprise.
"Dorian did the things he did because he loves you above anything, and that's good merit in a man. And I'm not sure if you want to hear this, but sometimes he was caring. I can see why you love him, and that makes me want to get to know him better."
Finian agreed with what Shiro was saying. And he surprised himself because he didn't feel any jealousy. Finian had felt that a few days ago, when Shiro and Dorian had sex, but the more time he spent with Shiro, the easier it got to accept the man.
Finian looked at Shiro a long time before he took a deep breath, and leaned forward, gazing into the other man's brown eyes.
"I am going to fix this, so it all works out for everyone. But then you have to come back with me to London and be there for a while. Can you arrange it to work out? I do think it's for the best that Ikumi stays here in Japan for a while, regarding the situation between you and Dorian. Could you accept that?"
"Well, Kei's parents have mentioned that they want to spend some time with Ikumi so that I can ask them. And I think the record label would only be happy if I come back to London and start working with my new record. But you have to talk to Dorian about that."
"That won't be any problem. But I'll talk to Dorian. Speaking of him, when is your next heat scheduled to start?"
"In three days," Shiro answered.
He suspected he knew why Finian asked such a private question.
"Then there is no time to lose Shiro. We have to book an early flight and get you home to Dorian as soon as possible."
"To spend my heat with him?"
Finian nodded and said with a confident voice.
"And to become mates, of course!"
Shiro just stared at Finian, lost of words
****************************
Dorian sat on the edge of the bed with the phone in his hand and felt conflicted. He was irritated that Finian went all the way to Japan, alone and pregnant. But he was also thankful for him for finding Shiro. But that also made him irritated with himself. Because he didn't know what he wanted with the omega.
The phone rang, and he immediately answered the call when he saw Finian's name show on the screen.
"Luv, is everything alright?"
"Yes, everything is fine. I'm with Shiro now."
Dorian grimaced e he sat on the bed. How should he sound? Dorian felt relieved, but could he sound like it? Was that okay to do when he talked with his husband?
"Oh. Good," Dorian simply said, trying to sound so indifferent as possible.
"Are you coming back soon?" This was the most crucial question to Dorian because every minute without Finian right now was agony.
"Yeah, I'm flying back in a few hours. And Shiro's coming to. He agreed to come back with me."
"He did?" Dorian burst out.
Once again, he was relieved but so very conflicted.
"And if you try to fight this, Dorian, I won't be coming back!"
Dorian grew cold just by the thought of losing Finian, and without him noticing tears filled his eyes.
"You know, that's blackmail, Fin!" He whispered, his voice trembling.
"I know. But it's also the truth. I won't just stand by and look while you're slowly killing, not only yourself but Shiro as well."
Finian sounded so angry. Dorian hated to hear his beloved like that. It wasn't like he wanted to die or to hurt Shiro. Dorian just felt so bloody helpless when nothing went the way he wanted. Dorian had tried his best to keep Finian from getting involved, but he should have known better. Finian would never accept to be left out. He didn't want Dorian to deal with everything on his own, either. Both cared about the other more then they cared about themselves.
"Thank you, Finian. For helping me through all of this. I don't know what I would have done without you," Dorian felt tears slowly going down his cheek, first now realizing that he was crying.
"I'm always by your side, my love. You don't need to worry about that."
"Thank you, Darling. Is Shiro with you now? Could you put him on the phone?" Dorian asked a little bit anxious.
He didn't want to end up hurting Finian. But his husband didn't say anything. Dorian could only hear Finian talk to somebody there with him, probably Shiro. But Dorian couldn't hear what he said. It took a long time before Shiro took the phone. Dorian suspected that Finian probably had to convince him to take it.
"Hi," the man said, sounding vulnerable.
"Hi, Shiro. I'd just want to apologize for everything I've done. There are no excuses for my behavior. I know I've been acting like a real idiot, and I am truly sorry about it all. I hope you someday can forgive me and that we can get to know each other."
It was so quiet on the other side that Dorian started to think that the call had ended until he heard a sob. That surprised Dorian, and he didn't know what to say or do.
"I thought you hated me," Shiro wept.
"No, Sweetheart. I don't hate you. I just hated the situation we were in. I'm so sorry that I made you feel that way. Fuck, I really am a bloody asshole."
Dorian was angry at himself. He had really screwed up big time. Dorian wasn't a person that made others cry. No, he wanted to make others happy. That's why Dorian worked with music. That's why he worked hard to make his company one of the first that didn't care about gender. Dorian wanted to see people smile and enjoy themselves.
When Dorian heard Shiro cry, from the other side of the world, the self-loathing he felt at that moment was so incredibly heavy. He deserved to be beaten up or something.
"You just wanted to protect the one you love, and I understand that. I want you to know that I never wanted this to happen. I like Finian. He's a great man, and I know how much you love each other. I have no right to come between you two," Shiro managed to say the last words before he broke down, crying so hard he couldn't continue talking.
Dorian felt so helpless when he heard the other man cry, sounding so heartbroken, and the alpha felt so guilty.
"Luv, I need to take care of Shiro, but I'll text the time we arrive in London, yeah?"
"Sure, Babe. And thank you again. I don't deserve you!"
"Yes, you do. You are a wonderful, loving man, and we both deserve each other. I got to go now. Bye, my love."′
"Goodbye," Dorian ended the call, and he stared at the phone for a long while.
It all still seemed so unreal. Finian was now on the other side of the globe, retrieving Dorian's fated pair. And Finian was the one person, out of the three, that worked hardest to get the pair together. Well, that didn't surprise Dorian. It was a typical 'Finian'-thing to do. He had always been resonable and composed, so what else could one expect of the brightest and most compassionate person Dorian ever had met. Finian had as anticipated kept calm through it all, when Dorian, on the other hand, had utterly freaked out and acted like a real fool. And he could still not comprehend everything that had happened. What were the odds of Dorian even meeting his fated pair in the first place? And that man happened to be a singer contracted to the record label he owned. It was beyond weird.
Ans even though Dorian had told Finian that he wouldn't fight this 'fated pair'-thing anymore, he still didn't want anyone else but Finian. Sure, he had to admit that the sex had been good with Shiro. It was completely different from having sex with Finian. Of course, he still preferred to have sex with his husband, but the pheromones Shiro released affected him so much, and the sex felt utterly amazing. Dorian had never experienced anything like it before. It was like all his senses were heightened, every touch more sensitive than usual. Dorian remembered the feeling of being inside Shiro, it was kind of euphoric and just thought of it now, did something with Dorian as he sat on his bed. He started to feel a bit hot like his temperature had risen. Dorian felt all tingling inside, especially down 'there.' Dorian sighed and laughed for himself as he felt his cock grow. The blond alpha fell on the bed, with his eyes closed. He was all hard and horny just by thinking of someone, like a sexual frustrated, teenager full of hormones. The most disturbing thing was that he could also smell Finian's scent from the bed, and that made his cock twitch in excitement.
The kids weren't home, and he had the time, so Dorian quickly undressed his lower body. With his face pressed against Finian's pillow, Dorian took his hard cock in his hand, and he trembled by the sensation. He imagined his dick slowly penetrating Shiro's tight hole, and a moan of pleasure escaped his lips. With his eyes closed, drunk on Finian's scent, and the memory of how good Shiro had felt, Dorian stroke his cock. First, he could picture both Finian and Shiro in front of him; then, they started to merge until they blended to one. A person that had Finians lovely green eyes and Shiro's sexy lips, those eyes that you could get lost in and those hot lips that you wanted to taste.
Dorian jerked off until he came with a moan, and he lay there on the bed, panting a good while afterward. His hand was covered with semen. He opened his eyes and looked at his hand.
"What am I doing?" he mumbled to himself.
Dorian closed his eyes again and let out a deep sigh.
"Fuck!"
