Recap: the last chapter ended with Mikado entering the car. In this chapter, she'll meet her fiancé candidates although not in a normal way. Also, it's back into 3rd person again.
Mikado sighed as she took out her phone when it beeped, a google pixel 3! Suddenly, she received a barrage of messages appearing one after the other. It reminded her of answering the news reporters left, right, front, centre.
Slowly, she read through all the messages and couldn't help but laugh. They were all really funny and then it occurred to her, who are these people? How did they get her number?
With trembling hands, she clicked on the header at the top and saw she was now part of this group called Mikado along with three other users. Ironically, her name is Mikado, like the food from the Japanese company.
"How did you get my number?"she asked and sucked in a breath, her body tense, waiting for a reply from these three people.
"Oh look! She talked"!
"Of course she would talk! She's a human being"!
"But she could be a machine".
"I'm not a machine."she wrote back with a confused emoji. "I'm a living and breathing person like you guys."she added.
"You don't know if we are human. We could be machines that have hacked into your..."
"Ignore him. He has a really wild imagination that always runs loose once in a while".
"What he said".
'They seem close.'she thought, smiling very faintly. 'Maybe I can become close like that too.'she thought hopefully, suddenly having some hope to what the future may hold.
"So...how did you get my number? You never answered".
"Ummm…well…."
"You see…your…ummm…"
"Our parents and your parents agreed on this fiancé thing so your parents gave our parents your number and then gave it to us".
'Wow. He's...direct.'she thought, blinking a few times and staring at the screen like it was some alien.
"Well. Okay then. Thank you.😀".
"No problem".
On the other side of the phone, the other three were all in the same room and discussing one thing: how polite she is.
"Oh my god! She's so polite and seems so innocent."gushed one of the boys, his eyes literally sparkling because of her politeness. "She's just a responsible person like the rest of us. Except you of course."replied the one with white hair as he bit back a smirk.
"Very funny."replied sparkly eyes sarcastically, playfully scowling.
"I mean, he's not wrong."started the third guys. "You are most childish of us all and least responsible".
"Oh yeah?"challenged sparkly eyes. "She wasn't so responsible either, talking to us. She should've immediately left, blocked us or told an adult. Instead, she started talking to us herself and…"
"I'm still here."Mikado typed.
"Oh f*ck! Have we been texting this the whole time?"asked Mr.Sparkly eyes in the group chat.
"No. One of you pressed the call button and I picked up."she replied through the phone, surprising all three of the boys.
"Aw Sh*.'said sparkly eyes at the same time as one of the other two, mixing it up with "We are terribly sorry Ma'am."started the third guys, the one with light brown hair and forest green eyes. "Don't worry. It's fine. It was very...enjoyable listening to your hilarious conversation about me."she replied with a small chuckle.
"So...um...I guess you guys are really close since I heard your conversation".
"Oh yeah. We definitely are. We are like best friends and…"
"Ignore him."stated the forest eyed boy. "He's the one that has his head filled with delusions."to which sparkly eyes replied "I most certainly do not. Help me out here Bent."he pleaded. "Count me out."the snow haired boy replied.
"So, one of you is called Bent. As in Bentley or Bennett?"asked Mikado, interrupting the arguing of two of three boys. "Whoops".
"Instead of doing this on the phone. Let's meet up."suggested Mikado monotonously to hide the fact she is very curious and excited. "What!"exclaimed sparkly eyes. "Irresponsible".
"How do you know we're not going to kidnap you?"asked the brown haired boy.
"Maybe, she wants to be kidnapped?"suggested Bennett, aka: snow boy.
"Real mature Snowy".
"I told you to stop calling me that Adrian you *ss".
"How dare you! You just revealed my beautiful name!"screeched Adrian like a girl.
"Just think of this as the favour returned."replied Bennet nonchalantly, taking a sip from his cool drink. "By the way, we'll meet like you said. Let's meet at Starbucks at 4pm. The one that's down the street to King's Academy."said the third boy, interrupting Bennet's and Adrian's staring contest. "Also, his name is Noah."added Adrian before cutting the call.
"Well, they are a lively bunch."though Mikado, a bit stunned in all honesty. Slowly, she lifted her arm up to check the time. "Right, I got an hour to get ready."she thought as the car raced through the streets to her house.

Okay okay. I know it wasn't the weirdest way you meet a fiancé or fiancé candidates but come on. It ain't a normal way. You suddenly get texted by random people that tell you they are your three fiancé candidates.
This chapter was mainly there to introduce the other three main characters that are the protagonist and in the end, the heroes. However, this chapter was also there to let people realise how easily it's to fall into someone's trap online.
Like in the story. Adrian said "She wasn't so responsible either, talking to us. She should've immediately left, blocked us or told an adult. Instead, she started talking to us herself". So, I know in the story these characters have no bad intentions but it's so easy to trick somebody online. All you need to do is act all polite and innocent, gain their trust and then suggest to meet up and bam, it could be a stalker, pedophile or even a serial killer! Okay, that's a bit drastic but it happens.
On Pinterest, a person reached out to me once and I thought "hey. This person's nice. I don't sense any evil intentions."but I was foolish to believe that. How do you know a person is not really trying to kidnap you by acting all polite and casually asking where you live. How do you know they're real age, what they are really like. Online, you can literally be anybody you wish. You could say "I'm Arian Grande". Well, not really but it's just an example. Online gaming and dating is not bad but you must always be alert.
The best way to deal with an online friend in my opinion, is to suggest to meet up. Then you see how trustworthy your 'friend' is, what they look like and who they really are in person. However, always tell an adult and ask them to come with you however, secretly come with you. So like, you have a bodyguard but instead it's an adult or a close friend or even better yet, your own parent/s. So, if something were to happen, they could intervene or clap the police. Never suggest this without your parents' consent and never meet a stranger you met online on your own. Always bring a friend as backup.
Bye and lemme know what u think for the chapter.
