"Halloween is coming up and so, there will be a two day holiday as usual"announced the form teacher, Mr.Higgins. He's a middle aged man that's quite...fat and chilled about teaching yet nobody dares to oppose him or make fun of him. He's known as the wild boar in school by the students.
The students groaned in annoyance. Holidays are extremely rare in King's Academy. There's Halloween which is only two days, Christmas which is only 2month, involving New Year, then there's no Easter and then one month of summer holiday. There are no half term or semester holidays. None at all. In total, the students at King's Academy only get 2 months and 2 days holiday. Compared to other senior schools and high schools, it's very little. Then again, they are the best school in the world for a reason.
"Sir, why do we only get two days holiday for Halloween unlike other schools that sometimes get 2 weeks?"asked Mikano. Since she's new, she doesn't know how the holidays work and so yet it seems like she's always been part of the school. "Mikado, answer your twin's question."ordered Mr.Higgins brusquely, busying himself with his briefcase and papers. "The headmaster in 1970 decided he wanted this school to be the best in the world thus, we have such little holiday compared to other schools. Afterall, this is a school that is mainly for children from powerful, rich and influential families that need advanced courses as most of us will be going to work in our parents business or businesses. Even then, I don't know why we have such little holidays completely. It's our place to question it, Mikano."rambled Mikado.
"Show off."muttered Mikano and the people sucked in a breath, the atmosphere suddenly very intense.
The two girls stared each other squarely in the eyes, not backing down. It was plain to see they don't along with each other yet nobody dares to ask. The Shibuya's are one of the 4 most influential families in the world so don't make an enemy of one. Otherwise, you'll be sorry. "I am sorry Mikano, but I only did what Mr.Higgins asked, answer your question and as I said, I don't fully know the truth. We all have a phone here so why don't you look it up yourself."remarked Mikado in a snidely fashion. Again, the two stared at each other but in the end, Mikano looked away first, losing the silent challenge. "Will do, twin."she replied slyly, her heels clicking against the floor as she sauntered away from the stunned students and irritated Mikado to the 1st class of the day.
The school day passed by like a blur and throughout the day, Mikado felt extremely uncomfortable. She was annoyed, irritable yet it felt like somebody was watching her. Not in the normal fashion of awe or shock or fear, it felt like somebody was watching her, spying on her. It felt like somebody was trying to or had this strange scary aura, a killing intent. Every few seconds, Mikado would look behind her shoulders warily, looking for anything unusual but every time, she got nothing. Noah wild occasionally,y notice and ask what's wrong and she would reply that everything was fine. Adrian was oblivious to anything but Bennet seemed to notice something strange too yet he remained quiet.
Halloween was the next day and Mikado had planned to do nothing. Unfortunately, her perfect plan of procrastinating was ruined because of a Mikano surprisingly.
"You doing anything special?"she asked, trying to seem as uninterested as possible.
"Yes. Procrastinating."replied Mikado matter of factly, setting up her video game.
"Playing a game doesn't count".
"No sh*t Sherlock".
"Geez. I was hoping we could go out together and do some twin bonding".
"Why would I join you to bond"?
"Well. I was just thinking…."-
"What are you thinking about, Mikano? To suddenly become a good sister, a good twin? To suddenly become close knit and inseparable like other siblings?"and Mikado knew she had struck home. "I thought that it would be better to"-
"To start now rather than never? You deserve an Oscar for your pathetic acting. Now leave. I don't want you here in my room again to talk to me about being a family"!
Reluctantly, Mikano left but not before giving Mikado a sympathetic glance, as if she was sorry for something.
"Damn it. I can't concentrate! I can't do anything now."muttered Mikado angrily, throwing her pencil onto the desk in frustration. Knowing she wouldn't be able to do anything correctly, she went to find Mikano to take up her offer, even though it was already 4pm.
Through the large mansion crept, silent like a cat. She was like a shadow, a phantom that nobody saw, nobody was aware of until it was too late. It wasn't long till Mikado reached Mikano's room however, she spent a lot of time sighing, trying to make up her mind. In the end, Mikano opened the door for her.
"So, came to take up my offer?"she asked suddenly, startling Mikado into a stunned state. "Why don't you come in?"she asked even though she was dragging Mikado already inside and closing the door to her room.
Unlike Mikado's room, MiKano's room is filled with girly things. A small wardrobe filled with ball gowns, a walk-in closet that's half the size of the room, a massive princess like bed, a large wooden desk and then a dressing table as well as a window seat that was part of the wall bookshelf. Literally, the wall was a bookshelf and there was a space for a window and a window seat. Mikado's room is a lot more plain, a massive tv, cupboard filled with games and gaming consoles and spare parts for computers and phones. Unlike Mikano, Mikado doesn't have a massive walk-in closet and instead has half of one wall as the cupboards, the other half is another wall shelf. However, she also had a wooden desk and a big but very plain and simple.
Mikano, taking advantage of Mikado's frozen state, started to undress her. That brought her back to reality very quickly, jumping at least 3ft away from her.
"What the hell Mikano?"Mikado shrieked, clutching her opened shirt.
"Relax. I was going to change you into a Halloween party dress."Mikano replied, holding out a dazzling black dress. "What do you mean? I never agreed to that! I thought you only wanted to spend the day with me".
"That was hours ago and it's like 4pm right now. I know you don't like parties but I thought you should come with me and experience some real fun. You're a teenager, Mikado."Mikano said in motherly fashion.
"Stops speaking like a mother! We're the same age! Born on the same day!"Mikado exclaimed, starting to back away to a corner. "Number 1, I am 3 minute older. Number 2, you'll go either way."Mikano said evilly, leaning over the cowering Mikado.
"Not so strong or miss perfect now."she taunted, backing away from Mikado and starting to undress herself to change into her costume. Mikado just watched, stunned momentarily. "Hurry up."snapped Mikano, bringing Mikado suddenly back to reality. "The party starts at 6 and there's tons to do". Knowing there was no point in arguing or even fighting, she relented and became Mikano's live barbie doll.
"Now, just act like you usually do in school okay. Since you've never had alcohol, don't accept drinks offered to you, it could've been spiked and stuff. Always get yourself water. I'll be around and if you can't see me, call me. I'll pick up normally."Mikano said as the two stood in front of the towering building where the party was taking place. Mikado took in a deep breath and exhaled, closing her eyes briefly to try and mentally prepare herself. "If you feel uncomfortable, go outside and take a breather but be alert. At parties, there'll be creeps about so start running and screaming for help if that happens". Mikado nodded in response, gulping nervously. "Let's go".
~Mikado's Point of view~
The music is too loud. There's the horrible smell of alcohol and sweat. Everybody is shouting. People are laughing. The food is disgusting, repulsive. I hate it. I hate parties and always have been. There's too little space! I can't breath. It's...suffocating! I need to get out of here!
I pushed past people, not bothering to say sorry. I don't care right now! My vision is getting fuzzy. I can see the outside! Just a little further! Come in, I can't faint now, right in the middle of a Halloween party! I'll destroy other's fun. Just a little further and...I'm free.
Oxygen suddenly filled my lungs. I can finally breathe again! I feel so relieved yet tired and exhausted just from trying to get out. Too many...people inside. My throat feels parched, like sandpaper. I long for water but I'm not going back in there! It's a living death trap of humans. I can't, I won't.
~3rd person Point of view~
Mikado slid down to the pavement floor, scrunching up her lovely black dress. It was strapless, longer at the back and shorter at the front made from loose material so it would flutter magically in the wind. Glitter glinted from the light of the bright silver full moon. However, Mikado felt far from good, happy, comfortable.
Footsteps could be heard, clicking on the cold pavement and slowly came to a stop before Mikado, who was hugging her knees, her face buried in them as she looked at the floor, trying to calm her rapidly, beating heart down. "Here, I brought some water."the person said, a male voice that was too high to be an adult's but too low to be a kid. "Just a moment."Mikado barely whispered as she finished her counting to pace her heart. With trembling hands, she reached up and took the cup from the mysterious male. Her golden eyes met predatory yellow, the same yet completely different. He had black hair yet in the moonlight, it looked like a lovely shade of warm, dark blue, like that of the sky.
Before drinking, Mikado sniffed it for anything dangerous and the boy chuckled. "Don't worry. I didn't spike it."but she looked unconvinced. "See."he said as he took a small sip and was completely fine. Eyeing him warily, she took a large gulp from the water. It cooled her, calmed her down. It made her feel tons better, her mind more clear and her eyes sharper than ever.
"Thank you."Mikado said quietly, holding the plastic cup of water. The boy then sat down next to her, staring at the stars up ahead. "I take it you don't like parties."he asked yet it was more of a statement, an observation he made and was confirming. Mikado nodded slightly, finishing the cup of water all together. "Let's go together somewhere."he suggested, standing up and holding out his pale hand to her. Again, she eyed it warily. "Don't worry. I won't hurt you. I just want to go for a walk with a beautiful lady like you."he said, flashing a smile so similar to hers. That million dollar smile however, she took his hand, her face red like a blushing tomato. She was blushing!
"Nobody has called me pretty before"she thought as the two walked down the street to enter the city centre. "I wonder who this mystery person is."she thought as the boy led her into a beautifully lit up alleyway. However, as the two progressed, it started to become more dark, less bright, dim, eerie, scary, like a scene in one of those horror movies.

Author's note
I know it's not Halloween yet, far from it but I thought it would be the perfect way for something to start happening.
In this chapter, a mysterious person appeared and helped out Mikado and then asked her to come with him. Never do that, ever. Even if somebody looks innocent and kind, they could be a real monster behind the mask. If somebody asks you that, kindly refuse. If they chase after you, start running, if they don't relent, start dealing out for help with your voice as well as call the police or people you know are in the area for help. Just keep running, crossing streets to try and lose your pursuer.
Another thing is the party. Like Mikano said, don't take up the offer when somebody random offers you a drink. Again like Mikano said, it could be spiked. Spiked means that something has been mixed into the drink. It could just be alcohol so that's not too bad, unless you're a very bad drinker but it could be some serious drugs or poison. Of course you can drink at parties but bring your own drink as well if you see lots of people that are drunk.
So, who is this mystery person and what is he his purpose? Where are Bennet, Noah and Adrian? Why is Mikano suddenly reaching out to her twin well, triplet?
