~Noah's Point of view~
I can't believe it's Christmas already! Well, the month that Christmas is in, December. And, there is snow! Yes, snow! That's not very common, not common at all. I love winter, the beauty of it is mesmerising. In the December month, we're allowed to wear our own clothes and honestly, I am extremely thankful for that. I doubt the school uniform would've been warm enough to stop me from shivering. Even though I love winter, it's really easy for me to get a cold or the flu and so.
Okay, maybe I am a tad bit overdressed. A furry parka, a scarf, a hat, gloves, warm tracksuit trousers, warm boots, a v-neck cashmere sweater, a long sleeved t-shirt and then a normal top underneath that! Okay okay, I am overdressed but it is nice and warm.
On my way to school, I was joined by Adrian who was wearing a hoodie, toursers, a short sleeved top with a long sleeved underneath and a scarf and earmuffs and fingerless gloves with trainers for his footwear. Honestly, he has no fashion sense I mean, it's all mix and match yet with Adrian, it still looks decently good and...well...anything he wears looks like a new trend or something. I honestly do not understand how all those colours can complement each other when they usually look horrible together.
Bennett joined us two halfway there and he naturally was wearing a black trench coat, a black v-neck sweater, a white shirt, navy blue trousers and black trainers. I also do not understand him. He is always complaining how his white hair stands out so much in contrast to his clothes and yet, he always wears dark coloured clothes, the exception being white shirts. Like Adrian, he is also wearing fingerless gloves and a scarf but no hat. Both of them have horrible fashion sense.
3/4s of the way, Mikado joined us with...Mikano? Both look identical except for the different coloured clothes, the colours are different yet they are wearing the exact same thing. Knee high boots, black tights, a pleated skirt, a cardigan and then a winter waterproof parka with fur and a hat as well as gloves.
"Hey guys!"Mikano called out loudly, rushing towards us while Mikado calmly walked to meet us. "Hi."she said politely and gave us all a small smile. That's something I want to figure out about her. Why is she still distant, polite to us like we aren't friends? I mean, we must all be wary but she can trust us. I do not understand why she keeps herself isolated from us. It's like she's afraid of being our friends. Does that mean she knows? It doesn't look like it but the way she smiles and laughs just seems too polite. Everything she does Is too perfect, too graceful and elegant. On the other hand, Mikano is a lot more lively and energetic. She's all emailed and jokes and...just a lot more free. It's like Mikado has this wall around her, caging her inside whilst Mikano is a free spirit, free as a bird.
"So, reading for the hunt?"Mikano asked us all as we all walked to the school.
"Of course I would be! I am Adrian, the…"and he faltered at what he was going to say. Quickly, I covered up for him. "Yeah. We all are."and Adrian secretly nodded in thanks. It's a touchy subject and one that I do not have the right to share. Mikado however, didn't miss that Adrian had stopped before finishing his sentence and was staring with her golden eyes burning brightly before turning to meet my brown ones. I felt a chill go down my spine but I held her intense gaze. It was like she was staring into the very depths of my soul, searching for my secrets.
"So, you choose your teams yet?"Mikano asked and the four of us gazed at each other.
"Yeah. Actually, all four of us are a team."Bennett answered, bringing Adrian, Mikado and I together to stand next to him, Mikado next to him and Adrian on the other side whilst I was next to Mikado. "Ah,okay then."Mikano said, some disappointment in her voice. "Maybe next time we can be teammates."Adrian offered. Typical of him. He hates seeing girls even remotely upset about a small thing. "Yeah. I would like that."she said with a sad smile, looking down at the floor.
Mikado suddenly walked away from us and continued walking down to the school, pulling Mikano with her. Us three watched the two twins walk side by side, talking about something in hushed voices. Slowly, we walked behind them, trying to hear snippets of their conversation. Mikado caught us once, staring at us with her brilliant golden eyes, a warning within them.
When we reached school, Mikano was nowhere to be in sight. Mikado was just standing there, looking around as if she was looking for somebody. "Looking for someone?"I asked yet I sounded so different, so...jealous? So...envious. That's not me. I'm not a girl but a respectable gentleman. Yeah right. I am just a kid and I have an older sister to remind me of that. Honestly, that hurts, like a stabbing pain.
Mikado shook her head and went to stand beside us as we waited for the head teacher to announce the official beginning of the tournament. Mikano waved to us, standing with her group of friends. "Isn't that Gae Min Jun and his sister Gae Hayoon?"Adrian asked Mikado and she nodded hesitantly in response, eyeing them warily. "Who's that next to him."he wondered out loud, eyeing the other boy suspiciously. "I think that's a kid called… Rafael Courtier."Bennett replied, squinting his eyes. "Ahh. My old nemesis."Adrian muttered under his breath so on,y us three could hear however, I think Mikado heard as well because she's looking at Adrian with a puzzled expression. "Don't worry. His an old..acquaintance."replied Adrian, suddenly a bright smile on his face. "Okay."she said. That's the first thing she's said to any of us. I wonder why.
"Alright! Attention students!"came the voice of the head teacher from the microphones, slowly silencing all of the students. "As you know, it's the annual paintball tournament and it's sponsored this time by the Shibuya's. A round of applause please."and politely, the students clapped whilst eyeing Mikado and Mikano. Whilst Mikano basked in the attention, Mikado shifted uncomfortably and bowed slightly. "So, I will hand it over to Miss.Shibuya to explain the rules."but that's a problem. There are two Shibuya's and they are twins! Identical twins! "Umm...which Shibuya Ms?"Mikano asked confidently, expecting it to be her.
"Mikado Shibuya."announced the teacher, staring at Mikado.
"So, this time, the paintball tournament is in teams of four that you could choose beforehand and let the office know. So, your team will each get four wristbands with the targets in a chip and each a paintball gun with lots and lots of ammo, enough for a whole year."and people 'oohed' and 'ahhed'. "The aim is for your team to have taken down the most targets. In the end, it will be a battle royal between the two teams in the school arena. To get the next target, you must take your target's wristband and hunt down their target. Understand?"and everybody nodded. "Bennett, Noah, Adrian. You guys are going to help hand out the equipment with me."she announced before jumping off the stage and rushing)g over to where the paint guns are and the wristbands. Begrudgingly, we made it over to her and spent quite some time distributing the equipment.
"Alright. A few more things. You don't need to show up to schoo. Your team can also defend themselves however, shooting the enemy that's not your target won't prove anything. You may also hunt down your target after school hours. Any questions"?
"Have people died before in a tournament like this?"some random person asked.
"Yes but only because of pure...stupidity. Running around and not looking out for cars, mainly road accidents. Other than that, maybe a broken limb or bones but that's it. Why"?
"U-uh just because. I, u-uh"-
"She's just worried about her safety,"answered Mikano. Again, the two had an intense staring contest that this time, Mikado broke as she had to jump off the stage. "Thank you Mikado for explaining the rules. Please assemble in your teams. Us teachers will distribute a safe zone for you where others aren't allowed to attack you and where your supplies will be".
"You excited?"Bennett asked. Surprisingly, Mikado answered.
"Extremely."she replied, her golden eyes glowing like a predator as her lips were formed in a cruel and calculating smile. It was like she was a different person entirely.

Author's note.
Heyo! I'm back again! So, what did you think of this chapter in Noah's p.o.v? Honestly, I find it interesting how in his person, he is very thoughtful and notices a lot of things. Usually, you don't realise because it's either in third person or in Mikado's point of view.
All of these kids are really smart. Bennett, Adrian, Noah, Mikado, Mikano and Min Jun. They're all really smart yet all have really unique and quite different personalities. Look at the massive difference between Mikano and Mikado. Mikano is outgoing and energetic, mainly because she had the ideal childhood filled with love whilst Mikado didn't so she is more introverted and unsure of herself and how she should act among friends.
This chapter is mainly there to start the new arc/big chapter. The arc is called: winter olympics arc. Although it's usually referred to as the paintball tournament, I prefer the Winter Olympics because it sounds way cooler than a paintball tournament. Honestly, it doesn't matter. Small pointers. In the time skip, Mikano has gotten quite close to Mikado's friends whilst in the 1st arc, she said she would stay away. Mikado keeps her distance for some unknown reason or maybe that's the reason, she doesn't want to associate herself with Mikano. Then who is the superior that controls Min Jun and his sister, Hayoon? And who is this new character, Rafael?
I guess there is some sort of lesson in here. Unlike Noah, he doesn't confront Mikado about why she keeps her distance. Or why she doesn't seem to trust them and stuff. Sometimes, it is best to observe some more but other times, it is better to confront than to leave it because then you can try and fix whatever went wrong.
I am a person that hates confrontation, especially when it is something like apologising. I prefer to let it blow over and then apologise later. However, that's not always good because it may come across rude and…it may indicate to the other party that you don't really care and stuff. Sometimes, it's better to say sorry when the action happens and then you can maybe talk or deuce it out. Sometimes, you should argue for your side of the story so the other side will understand why you did this or that. Sometimes you shouldn't because it can make the whole thing worse. It is really hard to know when to know when to do what or when to do nothing. From personal experience, I think it's best to say sorry as soon as you can. Then, it gets solved more quicker and then you suddenly feel much better. If you leave it, I feel really scared, nervous and just have this heavy weight in my chest that I long to get rid of but am too scared to do anything about it.
