The weekend ended and Mikado was very reluctant to go back to school. Since there she can't really be herself but can be to some extent, it's a difficult place to be in. Since she's one of the richest people there, she doesn't really have friends. So, everybody's first thought is that if you're rich you'll have lots of friends. Yes, you'll have friends but how many of them can you truly call you a friend. How many of them will be there by your side during good and bad? How many of them don't care about your money and will just accept you for who you are? How many people will help whenever you call?
In school, Mikado must wear her wig, wear modest uniform, and really just be the perfect model student. The girl's there are just suck ups, wanting her money. The boys also only want her for her family's power. That's why she's very reluctant to return after a not very nice but eventful weekend. In her words:
"School is hell".
Mikado took a deep breath in the car, mentally preparing herself for all the questions and all the envious glares and everything that she hates. "Just smile, be polite, don't be me."she muttered to herself before stepping out one of her personal hells.
"Oh my gosh! Mikado! How are you? You were all over the news!"gushed many girls. "What do you think about it? Are you okay with it? It must be really unfair…"but the words all sounded muffled to Mikado. She tried to focus, focus on her breathing, happy thoughts, anything that could bring her back. Bring her back to the surface of the water she always drowned in. Her vision started to cloud and she could feel herself falling, wishing that this could possibly be the end however, she suddenly felt some strong, cool hands grab her.
Squealing suddenly brought her back to reality and she found herself being carried bridal style by.p none other...Bennett! She blushed a little, embarrassed by what others were seeing yet she didn't resist, enjoying the fact that somebody was helping her, even though that person probably didn't care about her anyways.
When he reached the entrance to the castle like school, he gently let Mikado climb down, the other two surrounding her as well. "Thanks."she muttered quietly, her voice a bit raspy and dry. "No problem."replied Adrian with a smile yet it wasn't happy but more pitiful and sympathetic. "Can you stand?"asked Bennett with some worry in his voice, holding onto Mikado as she wobbled on her legs. "I-I...I don't know."she replied, ashamed of herself. "There's nothing to be ashamed of, Mikado."reassured Noah, squeezing her shoulder like an older brother would. "You're our friend and friends rely on each other."he added, giving her a warm smile. "They help each other out in tough situations. They provide support, emotional or physical. Friends can cry on each other's shoulders. It's okay to be weak because being weak can make you stronger, like the muscles of a body". Bennett and Adrian nodded, Adrian like his usual wacky himself and Bennett nodding slightly.
"Thank you. I'm not usually like this."Mikado said as the four of them walked to their form room. "It's strange. I never knew about you guys before. I mean, I should. You're Bennett Nakamoto Genovese, you're Adrian La-Blanc and you're Noah Wallac-Brooks. I mean, you guys are the children of the most famous CEOs! Did you guys always go to King's Academy?"she asked, trying to fill the silence.
"Well, we transferred here at the beginning of the year. Why?"replied Bennett, glancing at the other two. "I just never heard of your transfer. I mean, it's a big school and all but news travels fast yet I never heard about it. I thought it odd."replied Mikado, sliding the door open to their form room.
It was a boring morning, well, for most people but for Mikado, it suddenly got interesting. For Maths, her partner for the rest of the year got assigned and guess what, it was….drumroll please….. Adrian La-Blanc at your service."he said dramatically bowing down before sitting down next to Mikado.
"You like attention?"asked Mikado quietly as she wrote down notes in her Mathematics book. "Yeah. Got a problem with that?"Adrian asked in a slightly hostile tone, staring at the white board ahead of him. "No."Mikado said, dragging the 'o' for a few seconds. "I think it's cute."she added nonchalantly, erasing a badly drawn diagram. In her peripheral vision, she saw Adrian blush slightly, his ears turning pink as he stared at her with his mouth open. "Mr.La-Blanc. I understand Ms.Shibuya is quite pretty but please continue your work."called out the crisp voice from the teacher, an old and very strict woman. "Uh-ah- r-right."stammered Adrian, a bit flustered. "Will do Ms.Merriweather."he replied, ducking his head to hide the steadily creeping blush on his face as people laughed at him or chuckled, including Mikado. "And I thought you liked attention".
After Maths, she had physics and that was surprisingly with a certain person called Bennet and he was her partner for chemistry and biology. She found it quite strange but didn't mention anything yet although she had some sort of idea of what was going on.
History is when her theory was confirmed correct when Noah was assigned as her partner for the rest of the year. When lunch time finally came, she confronted them.
"You said we are friends right?"she asked, leaning against the lockers, startling all three of them. "Yeah."replied Adrian, gulping nervously, sensing he did something wrong. "A word in private, all three of you."and like little children about to be scolded, they followed her to some deserted part of the school.
"Alright. Spill the tea".
"What tea?"Adrian asked dumbly.
"She doesn't mean actual tea idiot."muttered Noah under his breath.
"I heard that".
"Oh. So whatcha gonna do bout it?"challenged Noah, staring at Adrian.
"Cough cough."and they faced Mikado once again.
"How come I have you three for partners in all of my lessons. Even in languages, one of you is my partner. Did you guys hack into the school system?"she asked, staring at them in the eyes individually.
"Umm…"
"You see….umm….well…."
"Yes. We hacked into the school systems and arranged that ourselves. We were worried about you so Adrian did that last minute."Bennett revealed, holding Mikado's intense gaze. Noah and Adrian looked at each other and sighed in relief, letting go a breath they didn't know they were holding. "Fine. I believe you."decided Mikado, breaking away from Bennett's periwinkle eyes. "Come on. Let's go get some lunch."she said before hurriedly walking off to get some food. When she was around the corner did the three of them really sigh in relief.
"That was too close for comfort. She almost found out our secret."whispered Noah.
"Yeah. I didn't know she would be that smart. I mean, I knew she was smart but not that smart and sharp eyed."replied Adrian, looking around warily to make sure nobody was listening. "Don't worry guys. We just need to be more subtle about it okay."soothed Bennett like the silent leader he was. "Just make sure we don't let anything slip. Afterall, we can't let others find out who we really are."he added, not realising that Mikado never left but was right around the corner, listening to their conversation.

This chapter is not really important except to let people know not to always be too trusting. I am not saying it's a good idea to eavesdrop but when you just made new friends, don't let your guard immediately down. Who knows what could happen. Those so-called friends could just be pretending and then humiliate you in the end. So, when you make new friends, always be alert for any signs that could help you prevent your heart being betrayed and broken. However, don't always be too superstitious (is it superstitious? I don't think so) because nobody likes a person like that.
When you meet somebody new, don't tell them everything about yourself. When they ask questions about you, don't give a very long answer. Just give a simple answer that only answers the question asked. I know, it's very confusing but it's an important life skill, especially now with social media. Like I said before, it's okay to meet new people online but when they start asking questions about you, keep them simple, keep them vague and most importantly, Dom's revalue any personal details like phone numbers, email addresses, post coaxes and other things that should be kept confidential.
Did Bennet know she was there or not? Did he do it on purpose? Or did he genuinely not know?
☺️☺️☺️ see you soon.
