"Who's eavesdropping here?" We heard a voice coming from the door of the cafe and we all knew that to whom it belong.
Why everyone is making entry one by one? I rolled my eyes and got myself ready to welcome the intruder.
"Hello, Emily." I smiled and gathered her in my arms. She immediately hugged me. She broke the hug, looked at me from top to bottom and wiggled her eyebrows at me.
She's the same Emily from USA. The nurse who became my only genuine and loyal friend. After shifting in London, I started missing her a lot because she gave me confidence to accept true change and reality.
One day, I got a call from a new number, and the caller asked me to open a door. I was way too shocked because I was new here and someone could have abducted me. However, I decided to open the door and there she was with her luggages. She engulfed me in a big hug and I realized that how much I had missed her.
We both broke into dams of tears and felt home in each other arms. She told me that she was not feeling good back there in USA without me so she decided to shift in UK as well.
My heart filled with pride that she was my best friend. I loved her a lot! She had my heart. She told me that she had left nursing and she'll manage the event managing company of her aunt who was very sick. She moved in with me in my apartment. Few months later, her aunt passed away leaving all responsibilities to her.
We both best friends left our jobs and started doing something very opposite to the prior one.
She started managing her company all alone and at last she decided to hire a co-owner. A guy, named Mark, invested in her company and became co-owner. He and Emily became friends and after few months they started dating each other.
Mark loves Emily a lot. He always supported her in her decisions and stood beside her when she conquered her demons.
She soon moved in with Mark. She was hesitant but when I ensured her that I'll be okay, then she moved in with him. Persuade her to move in with Mark was so difficult because she was acting like a mother and I was her child and she couldn't leave her child. I knew that her happiness lied with Mark.
Mark became my friend as well. He was fun loving and a funny guy yet very strict when it comes to work. I was okay with him as long as he kept my best friend happy. But, he really was an amazing guy.
Now Emily and Mark together run the company brilliantly because they both are capable and efficient. With their hard work, they have made their company successful and now they get very grand events to manage as well.
"What?" I giggled and asked Emily. There were senses of evil glint and naughtiness in her eyes which I love the most.
"You look so beautiful today!" She praises me with twinkle in her eyes.
"Thank you." I said with blush on my cheeks. I still get embarrassed and turn crimson red when someone praises me and I get so weird that I can even reply them like "happy birthday" Jeeeezzz.
"Cutie! I love your blush. But, I want you to blush when a man complements you." She said naughtily and I hurriedly turned to see if anyone was there. Luckily, everyone went back to their respective works and Uncle Jo, went to sip his favorite latte coffee made by Adrian.
"Will you stop embarrassing me? There's going to be NO BOY in my life." I said before rolling my eyes and gave emphasis to NO BOY to make it clear to Emily. I have told this to her a thousand times but she wouldn't budge.
I reached across the counter and started doing my regular task leaving Emily behind because I know that she'll follow me nevertheless.
"Alice! Why don't you have a boyfriend? You know there are perks of having a boyfriend." She said with while making her happy face like she was imaginary her hot and steamy nights with Mark.
"Will you stop daydreaming!? And cut the crap." I rolled my eyes. My eyes will be permanently rolled but I can't help because she keep on annoying me.
She started looking here and there and started playing with her braids. She was wearing a beautiful button up shirt along with pants. Emily was effortlessly beautiful which was a reason why Mark fell for her instantly. I adored her beautiful blonde hair and pale white skin. She was beautiful.
"Where's Mark?" I questioned whole turning the pages of a book.
"Mark, he's in the market with the team buying the stuff for the grand party that we are going to organize." She happily said.
"He's doing all the work while you are here wasting your time." I chuckled. "Don't you have work to do?" I arched my eye brow.
"See, this is one of the perks of having a boyfriend." She enthusiastically said. "If you had a boyfriend, you wouldn't be doing the whole work all alone." She said in a scolding manner.
"It's like having a boyfriend or hiring a worker?!" I burst into fits of laughter. "Besides, I love to work and write."
"Where your writing reached? How far have you written the book?" She asked and sat on a chair behind the counter.
I turned and saw that there were few people in the cafe and it was running smoothly thanks and praises to my amazing team.
"It's going to be completed soon. I'm so excited for its publication." I smiled and almost squealed in excitement.
I forgot to tell you guys that I'm an authorized author now. I always loved literature and when my friends and co workers along with uncle Jo, forced me to write, I started writing and I felt peace in it.
I have written two books and they were highly praised and copies of books were sold immediately soon after its publication. Right now I'm writing my third book.
I got offer to have interviews with journalists, media and tv shows but I straight refused them. All people called me fool because it was chance for me to gain popularity and gain the fame that I deserve.
But, after my past, I dread popularity. I think that fame and popularity makes you popular but they gift us a lot of enemies and I don't like unnecessary attention.
"Great! I am sure that it's going to be another super book like your other books got appreciation." She smiled and motivated me. She never let my morale go down.
"Thanks, Em. You're one of reasons that I have made so far." I held her hands and squeezed them warmly.
She give a peck to my cheek and said, "you can always rely on me."
"I know." I smiled and felt joy.
"See, Alice! I've done so many things for you, now you'll return the favor for me." She said and wiggled her eyebrows.
"Now what? Don't tell me I have to go with you in a stupid bar!" I almost whined in frustration because it was an awful idea. Once I went with her and she got drunk and I had to drag her back home.
I rolled my eyes remembering that and she laughed because she guessed correctly that what I was thinking.
"No! It was not that bad experience however It's not the club thing." She said.
"Then what?" I said while smiling at the old lady who entered the cafe. She was one of my regular customers and sweetest lady.
"You know we have got a big event to organize. It's the wedding ceremony of Mr Aaron Green and Ms. Clara Avery, one of the most famous couple in our city." She said while doing her dramatic antics and I laughed. She was a one drama queen.
"So, why are you telling me all this?" I asked getting annoyed. Why was she even telling me all this? I have absolutely nothing to do with them.
"My dear friend, you're going to help me in organizing all the events of their wedding." She said with finality in her voice.
My body paled and it exceptionally turned hot hearing at what she said. I don't know but that information doesn't settle well with me. My heart started thumping loudly and I knew that my participation in this event would not turn out to be good for me.
