"So, you're going to the airport and pick Mr. Aaron's best friend up." She said while clenching and unclenching her hand which she does when she's nervous.
WHAT?!
My eyes widened and I scowled. I surely decided to help her but with the management and arrangement of the events. I didn't assign to be someone's driver or potter.
"Stop scowling." Emily said making weird face.
"I, Alice Miller is nobody's driver and potter. I'm not going to give pick and drop service to anyone. I decided to help you but not in this." I scowled and there were lines on my forehead, explaining how much I disliked this idea.
"Alice, I wouldn't have asked you to pick him if I or Mark had time. But, to be honest we are stuck with the avenue booking and arrangement and I have to reach immediately else Mark would explode at me." She said with pleading voice.
I didn't reply to her and looked outside the window. It was better not to say yes to this deal. I mean how embarrassing it is to pick someone like he's my boss. Why Aaron can't send himself a car?
Freaking owl!
"PLEASE!" Emily yelled in my ears and in reflex I immediately covered my ears with my hands because it nearly pierced my ear drums.
"Are you mad or what?" I snarled at her.
"I'm your best friend." She said with puppy eyes and damn she looked so cute that I had to say yes to this ridiculous work.
"Fine! What's his name?" I said with frown on my face that she knew that I said yes because of her.
"Thank you, Alice. You're a life saver. Well, I don't know his name." She said with meek voice and gave me a sheepish smile.
"What?! Emily, are you nuts or what? You know nothing about him. What if he turns out to be a kidnapper?" I literally freaked out and yelled at her.
"For God's sake, stop shouting. He's best friend of a millionaire and one thing I know that he's billionaire himself! He's not in a Italian Mafia." She screeched with scowl on her face.
"How will I recognise him then?" I asked playing with the hem of my shirt.
She opened the glove compartment of the car and started searching something and then she finally found it. She threw it at me and I saw it was a badge which had a name bore on it: "Glee events." It was the badge of their company workers.
"You just wear this. He'll read this and come towards you. You have to drop him to this hotel." She gave me a paper which had a five star hotel name written on it.
"Alright." I kept the paper with me and wore the badge on my off-white crop top.
"He has reservation on his name in that hotel which is done by Mr. Aaron. You'll just drop him there and come to avenue. We will meet you there." She explained me and made a turn towards the avenue.
We had already reached the location where she'll leave and I'll keep the car and drive towards the airport.
"I don't look like a worker. Workers don't wear such clothes" I rolled my eyes when I saw my clothes. I was dressed up as a chirpy girl who loves to dress up whereas workers look decent. I was looking decent as well but not like a worker.
"Don't worry, you look fine and beautiful. Besides we have heard that he's very hot and desirable bachelor." She said mischievously with a evil glint in her eyes and chuckled when she saw me making scowl.
"He's our client." I said giving emphasises to client.
"So what can we do if the client is so hot." She giggled and licked her lips.
"God! How can you say that when we you have such a amazing boyfriend!" I whined.
"Jeez, it was for you." She rolled her eyes and laughed.
She stopped the car and we left. I sat on the driving seat and put on the seatbelt. I put the ignition key and got myself comfortable.
"Good luck and tell me all the details." Emily said and waved at me as I started the car and moved ahead.
After 10 minutes, I reached the airport and parked Emily's car and went inside international departure lobby and waited there. Emily told me that Mr. Best friend was coming from USA and that's why I had a sour heart of coming here all alone.
The mere remembrance of USA is very painful and dreadful for me. I'm happy being in London. People of USA dread me which seems very strange but because of my past, I can't help but to feel scary.
I kept my hair at back so that he would be able to see the badge clearly and we end this quickly.
I had been waiting for him for about an hour and he had not come. All the people of the flight had come but he was late and this was hell of irritating. I started stamping my foot on the ground because I was furious.
I called Emily and angrily told her that he was still not here. She said, "workers don't complain." And this made me more angry and irritated.
I decided that if he doesn't come in 5 minutes, I would be leaving. I started counting when I saw a person coming from the international departure aisle.
Because the light of his face, I couldn't see his face but he had a strong built, he was wearing glasses and a three piece black tuxedo. His height was very huge than me and maybe he was 6'3 ft and he was talking to someone on his phone.
There was man behind him who was carrying his luggage which really explained that he was a billionaire because of his rich appearance. I was already intimidated by his personality even before seeing him. His aura and personality were screaming his dominance and credibility.
I was making efforts to see this Greek God's face. He started coming closer and then I was able to see his handsome and stunning face.
My breath hitched when I was able to make out his face. All the blood from my face drained. I started shivering and the blood in my veins froze. I had chills to my spine. I was way too shocked to even make a move and that man was moving moving towards me with long strides.
The man coming towards me was my past, James Ashton.
I kept my head low but then I remember that I was a changed girl. I kept my head high and foot firm.
The footsteps came closer as I felt a pair of eyes on me. The man started with a "hello" as he cut his call and put his phone back in his pocket. He reached across me, flopping on the ground, without casting a glance towards me.
And when he finally looked at me, both of us froze for a moment. I couldn't believe my eyes for a minute. He was there, in front of my eyes, after two years. I spent years not wanting to see him and destiny has brought me in front of him again.
He had changed a lot but I still remember those kind, light brown eyes and the way his jaw slightly opened, I knew he remembered me too.
For a minute, we both stood like statutes. And then he closed his mouth and a beautiful and charming smile made its way on his handsome sculpted face at which my heart skipped a beat.
"Alice?" He uttered before removing his glasses and looked at me with questionable eyes.
Where the hell I have stuck myself?
