Justine's POV:
It's 10 PM…
My room is dim unlike usual; where the room used to be lit and bustling til late hours every night.
Usually, Damon and I would be studying together at this time, but the exams are tomorrow so we decided to sleep earlier tonight to wake up energized the next morning and concentrate on the exam.
In my dim room, I am lying down on my bed staring at the ceiling with wide-open eyes like an owl, while Damon was deep asleep in his futon on the ground beside my bed.
I know that I should be sleeping right now like Damon but I was so restless and anxious about tomorrow's exam; I studied so hard before the exams, so I was confident that I can finally get a higher rank than Damon this time around.
As I was lying on my bed, I turned over to observe Damon's face as he was sleeping in his futon.
"If it wasn't for your help, I wouldn't have been so confident right now-"
"Thanks for your help" that is what I thought to myself as I was staring at Damon down on the floor.
As I was wandering in my thoughts, I fell asleep without realizing it.

Birds chirping sound…
I opened my eyes' lids slowly as I saw the morning light seeping through my curtains dying the whole room in orange.
When I woke up, I realized that Damon had already woken up before me, folded his futon, and went to take a shower.
I got off the bed and stretched my limbs around to wash away all the remainder of my tiredness.
After I was done with that I turned on the TV to check the news until Damon is down with his shower so that I can get in after him.
"The authorities have reported a missile strike on a Residential area in Texas last night-"
"So far the casualties of this strike are minimal most victims are only injured-"
"That is what has been reported for now…Wait! "
" I have just received another piece of news, there are two victims who have been reported dead-"
"They are the family of the representative, Damon! "
"I repeat, two victims were reported dead and they are the family of the US Representative, Damon at Nightengale school.
"Currently an investigation is being carried out to find out the operator is this assault"
I dropped the remote control on the ground from the shock after I heard this news from the presentator
the shower sound had stopped but I didn't realize that from the shock.
When Damon came out of the shower suddenly I was panicking; I hurried up and picked the remote from the ground then shut down the TV then I hid the remote controller behind my back.
Damon sensed that there is something going on so he asked,
"What is going on?"
"N-no thing" I replied while stuttering and my eyes were darting everywhere except his way.
That made him even more suspicious so he walked towards the TV, I tried to block him persistently but he evaded me and could turn on the TV successfully…
As Damon learns about his family death, his shiny blue topaz eyes turn deep blue that has lost all its spark, there was no life behind his eyes.
The aura around him darkened so much that I thought it could suck me in and swallow me whole.
He looked at me with an expressionless face and said with a cold yet sad voice,
"Justine you should hurry up, or you will miss your exam"
