Damon's POV:
When I heard the news about the death of my mother and little sister, the world around me turned bleak.
"Don't start acting like a mother now" those were my last words to my mother, those harsh words kept echoing in my head drowning me deeper in regret.
I was like a living dead; I lost all my will to live but I kept breathing aimlessly.
Everything around me was swallowed by darkness, I looked everywhere for an exit that didn't exist in the first place.
Just when I was about to give up looking for an exit, a glimpse of light appeared in the darkness shining over me, warming me like the first sunlight after a long cold winter.
I took a few steps walking first then I sped up running as fast as I could towards the light but I didn't get closer to it at all, as if I was running on the plains chasing after a setting sun at the end of the horizon. But I didn't give up and kept on running tirelessly with all might.
I thought that this light is my only salvation out of this pitch darkness, so I couldn't give up on chasing after it.
When I noticed that the light started flickering and fading, I gradually slowed down till I stood still looking up at the light as it faded away losing its gleam.
This light was my only hope, It was my only thread for getting out of this place.
I was so disappointed that I lost strength all over my body and started to feel how tired I was from running this whole time, I fell on the ground crumpling with my head dangling downwards.
When I looked up again to check the light, it suddenly stopped flickering and was shining constantly, then it came forwards towards me so fast.
As the light came closer to me it grew brighter and brighter than it was blinding, then it finally engulfed my whole cold body warming it.
When I opened my eyes and came around, I found that Justine was embracing me.
At that moment I realized that the light that saved me was Justine all this time, I was glad that someone cared about me and was waiting for me back.
I thought that my family was only my mother and little sister but I have forgotten that Justine is also my family.
Even if my mother and little sister departed life, Justine is still here beside me.
As soon as I realized that I started crying on Justine's back while she was hugging me, it was the first time I cried this hard since my father funeral when I was 13
When Justine tried to push me back, I pushed her back, locking my hand behind her back holding tightly onto her because I didn't want her to see my moment of weakness.
I kept crying for hours till the first sun rays of the morning shone upon us as we were hugging each other on the floor.
After my tears had dried up, I unlocked my hand and let Justine go, I didn't want her to see my messed up face, so I turned my head away trying to hide my face.
To my surprise, she was looking away as well, I thought that she was embarrassed but she actually knew that I didn't want her to see my face.
I stood up hurriedly and went into the bathroom to wash the tears off my face.
