Chapter 12 - Honest Moments

Nathan's deep eyes were pulling her in and his words pretty much left her flying away to neverland.

"You... like me?" Her eyes widened by his confession. Her heart skipped at beat listening to him.

Thump. Thump. Thump. Her heart was beating so loudly that she was afraid he would hear it. She didn't know if it was form her feelings or nervousness by how close he was.

"Yes." Nathan felt a tingling sensation course through his body. He found that saying his words now was so easy. In the past he alway hesitate yet now. Once he said it he felt like a huge burden was lifted from him.

"B-but why? We only met once." Katelyn said. They only met during the date they were set up in. Not including now.

"Do I need I reason to like you?" Nathan tilted his head to the side a little.

He really wanted to tell her everything but first and far more importantly.

"Why were you avoiding me?"

Katelyn felt a lump in her throat and broke from her happy state. She don't know what to say. She really didn't believe his words about meeting again.

She understood he was such a busy person. Why would he even spend time with her?

But the constant messages she got from him scared her more. And she remembered Eli's words.

'Love at first sight with this man?'

She had to agree that it was hard for her to believe that. Maybe interest? But what was interesting about her?

"Sorry.." she said earnestly.

Nathan felt his heart sink seeing that she didn't believe him completely. He clenched his hand and slammed it on the bar table scaring Katelyn that she whimpered.

His heart felt in pain and he sighed weakly. "No it's my fault. I was probably rushing it too much. But I wasn't lying. I really like you Katelyn." His eyes showed his affection to her.

He wasn't confessing just in this lifetime. He was confessing for both lifetimes and he did his best to show all his emotions to her.

She saw his emotions and started to feel a massive amount of sadness.

Quietly he watch as tears fall down from her eyes as she showed such a sad expression.

"Why are you sad Katelyn? Do my words make you feel uncomfortable or is it me that's making you uncomfortable?" He wanted to reached out and wipe away the tears.

But paused hearing her words, "I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't know anymore..." she sniffled.

Nathan didn't hesitate any longer and brought her into his arms. He gently patted her back and didn't let his hand do any inappropriate. All he did was smooth her like a child.

Katelyn didn't know why she started crying but once she did, she couldn't stop crying.

She was crying for all the unfairness she faced so far. The happy moments were she could see that they will fell apart. If she said yes, what would her life be starting now?

"Katelyn... be my girlfriend please?" He whispered to her.

"Your not good at hiding your feelings. That's why I long noticed that you like me at the date." He stroked her hair. The soft brown locks for tangled in his fingers.

"I'm glad. I thought that I would be the only one." He explained.

"So give me a chance, will you? Please say yes." He subconsciously held her a bit tight. He was begging her to be with him.

Forever.

Katelyn listened to his confession and pushed him away a bit to look up to his face. She could see this man's emotions deep in his eyes.

He wasn't lying. She could tell from his gaze. He even put out her emotions that she wanted to hide but didn't.

She can be selfish right?

Even though death was right around the corner she still choose to take the hand that he let out to her.

Katelyn held onto his suit coat tightly. She looked into his eyes and gave a soft smile.

"Okay."

Nathan for the first time felt so much relief hearing her words. The burden he felt was long gone and he silently vowed to make things right again.

So Katelyn, can we start over?

"T-thank you!" He held onto her and gave her a hug. His eyes turned a bit red and a small tear fell from his eye. He closed them to calm himself down. "Thank you so much Katelyn!" She whispered once again.

'No Nathan, thank you for giving me a chance. I'll make sure to cherish it.' She thought.

While this loving scene was happening the old bartender silently wiped his tears seeing that the young man's confession finally worked out. You did a good job son! He quietly left two drinks for the two of them and went away.

Love was a beautiful thing.

"Serena... who is he?" Lavi stared at the man sharply.

"Plasti-" Aaron covered her vile mouth with his hand and introduce himself to Lavi.

"Aaron Knightly."

Lavi eyes widened by his name. She looked over and saw the girl Serena about to hit Aaron but he swiftly dodged giving her a provocative smile.

'Since when did these girls have such high standards?' She silently thought ignoring the two.

"Where's Katelyn?"

"With a man." They both said.

Cough!! Cough!! Cough!! Lavi chocked on her drink and looked at the two of them with a shocked expression.

"WHAT?!!" Lavi yelled!!

"Lavi don't worry by the end of the night I bet that she will have a boyfriend." Serena sat beside her to assure her. She drank the cup in front of her and found it yummy and grabbed another one.

"That's not the point here!! Who's the man?!!"

"Nathaaaan!!!" She smiled innocently.

Lavi: "....." she felt her forehead starting to ache. Talking with Serena was like talking to a little kid and worse she was drunk.

Serena on the other hand started reaching out for the drink only to have it snatched away.

"Hey~ thaaat was minnnee!" She glared at Aaron who stole her cup.

Aaron made sure the cup was out of her reach and raised it higher.

"Hey why are their two of you~" her head fell back and she fell on top of Lavi's shoulder who sighed in frustration.

They were already 3 girl sleeping how could she possibly handle 1 more?

And this was a bar no less, how can she possibly take them all safely?

She decided to wake them at least since it was an impossible mission to carry them all. But first of all, she look at the man who casually stayed around.

"Mr. Knightly, aren't you leaving yet?" She asked.

Aaron nodded his head and decided to leave the room. Her could still see the questionable state coming from her but decided to pay no heed to it.

Coming out he saw Nathan and Katelyn both smiling as they walked towards the direction he was at.

'So it worked huh?'

Nathan saw Aaron and smirked a bit. For some reason he found that really annoying and scoffed.

"Congrats" Aaron said and walked towards the private room the other were staying at.

Katelyn in the other hand looked confused by his words. She looked at Nathan for answers but all he did was give her a smile that made her blush.

"Umm... so.. Bye!!" She quickly went into the private room leaving the grinning Nathan behind.

He laughed softly seeing his wife run away but a cunning glint past his eyes as he thought of another plan.

'Katelyn now that you've said yes I'll make sure you can't escape from me.' He walked towards the private room and opened the door.

"So how did it go?" Matthew asked.

"You guess?" He said mysteriously but didn't hide the proudness in his tone.

Lavi looked at the red face Katelyn and smiled. She could see a happy glow and understood that something big changed today.

"I'll ask for the details later. First let's get these kids home." Lavi said painfully and Katelyn giggle at her.
