the morning had come and Masha woke up. she had a slight headache and accidentally fell out of the bed.
"thump."
she had hit the floor on her right side and was rolling a bit in pain. she groaned but eventually got up to go to the bathroom. she washed up her face and tidied up her hair as best she could. she then got out of the bathroom and looked around the room. when she saw the desk and chair she picked up her bag and sat at the desk. she rummaged through the contents and eventually pulled out a book. she then placed the book on the desk and opened it.
when she opened the book a feather pen appeared out of thin air and landed in her hands. she then started recording the events of the day before. she wrote of how they defeated Richard and how they got their adventuring licenses. she was mostly drunk so she didn't remember much about the events of getting their licenses. she pulled out a small placard in her bag and stared at the large E+ next to her stats. she remembered back in her childhood how powerful her family was compared to her now. she clenched her fist and sighed trying to forget those days.
she then wore her knight armour and practised moving about. when she affirmed that her body was perfectly fine now she headed out of the room. she decided to head to the hotel lobby to wait for the other two.
since she was drunk she wasn't informed that she was supposed to share a room with Alyssa instead of sleeping alone. she didn't believe that Marv was capable of forcing himself on Alyssa and didn't waste any of her thought process on him. she waited for about half an hour before she saw the two coming down the stairs.
she saw Marv in his red armour and was wondering when he had gotten it. she walked over to the other two and inquired about it. she was surprised to hear that Marv got such well made armour for free. she then walked with the group to the adventurers guild.
Marv didn't ask Masha anything about her welfare because he was sure she was capable of taking care of herself. he entered the guild building and walked over to an empty table. some of the other adventurers gave him an occasional glance but quickly focused back to their noisy banter.
the group sat at the table and immediately talked about who would go to take quests...Masha volunteered and Marv insisted to follow her to make sure she would accept quests they could accomplish. Masha didn't mind and the duo left to go to the quest board.
Alyssa was left by herself and decided to just wait for the other two. as she was waiting, a group of people approached her table. she ignored them and continued to rest her head on the table only to feel the table shake from somebody slamming their hand on it.
"Hello miss."
Alyssa looked up to see a man of tall height grinning at her. he was wearing a sea blue armour and had a two-metre black trident on his back. he was blonde and had facial features similar to a male model. he was grinning at Alyssa clearly showing his dazzling pearl-white teeth.
"I couldn't help but notice your lonesome self from across the guild. if I may ask what exactly is your rank?"
"E plus"
"oh! an E plus rank...quite a good rank for a beginner to get I must say...how would you like to join our party...we can teach you all the ropes of adventuring and even help you get stronger."
Alyssa rolled her eyes at the douchebag in front of her. she saw a group of five women behind him, all of who avoided her gaze. she could clearly tell the story of what was happening here but decided to play along. after all, she was bored.
"oh really! may I ask what your rank is sir?"
failing to hear level 99 sarcasm in her voice. the man responded with a proud expression on his face.
"D plus rank...I don't mind helping you grow stronger miss...in fac-"
"Hey, Alyssa we chose a quest...but not too sure you may like it."
the interrupted man looked to the right and saw Marv and Masha approaching the table with a flyer in Marv's hand. the man narrowed his eyes in disdain at Marv who had interrupted him.
Marv acted oblivious to the man and just sat down beside Alyssa wanting to show her the flyer. he was all too familiar with such events. some handsome guy would appear out of nowhere and start demanding attention and splitting the group of friends apart to just make himself feel more confident of his handsomeness.
Alyssa took the flyer from Marv's hand and Marv was about to explain why they chose this mission when the man slammed the desk once more trying to gain back the attention.
Masha and Marv looked at the man while Alyssa focused her attention on the flyer in her hand.
"excuse me...this lady and I were having a conversation so if you don't mind I would like to resume my talk with her."
"oh sorry, sir! we didn't realize...we were just extremely excited with the quest we had chosen and wanted Alyssa to know as soon as possible."
Marv put up an oblivious expression and pretended to be apologetic. the man then asked for their ranks and after hearing their ranks his self-esteem skyrocketed and he continued to try to get Alyssa into his party. right in front of Masha and Marv...
but they didn't mind too much because they knew one thing about Alyssa's personality.
she was dangerously pretty.
she continued to listen to the man's antics and nodded at the right moments to boost the man's confidence in her joining his party. when the man believed he had won Alyssa over he then openly started flirting with her. he looked curiously at Marv sitting beside Alyssa but Marv didn't seem to care so he continued on.
then Alyssa spoke once more.
"wow...I knew the men in the base plane were lecherous but to be this lecherous...truly fascinating how amazing nature is...don't you agree Marvin?"
"I wholeheartedly agree with you, Alyssa."
this sudden conversation between Marv and Alyssa surprised the man and he shut his mouth for a few seconds. he was shocked at how calmly they talked about him and felt rage slowly take over him.
"hmmph! do you really think that I, Jack Ragnal...am a man who can accept such insults... I was willing to let you join my party but it seems you gained a big head. I should make sure to put you in your bloody place!"
he was now standing upright with his trident pointed at Alyssa. with a soft chant, his trident started vibrating and a ball of water quickly formed at the tip of the longest blade. the ball of water then shot forward at Alyssa at high speed but instead of hitting her, it stopped right in front of her face. she calmly folded her hands and looked through the ball of water straight at the man. he suddenly felt a cold chill brush his cheeks.
the ball of water was frozen now and hit the table with a loud 'thunk'. Alyssa calmly stood up and stared at the man who was now stepping back.
"wow...I know I'm a noble as well but...there sure are idiots within our ranks."
she then calmly walked over to the man from around the table and placed a hand on his shoulder.
he immediately felt his body freezing over and before he could even scream he was frozen in a block of ice.
the woman looked with bewilderment at the block of ice while the other adventurers glanced their way before once again focusing on their noisy banter. this was normal to them when a mage froze some annoying person who was bragging about their rank.
nobody paid any attention to the group...
