Alyssa and Masha had returned to the hotel with their heads hung low. they had no more excitement for adventuring right now as they remembered the events that happened just 10 minutes ago.
what happened to the fight you ask? the answer is quite simple really. the five women attacked the knight altogether and all received harsh slaps. yes, they were all slapped simultaneously with their left cheeks having deep imprints of a large hand. the women fell to the ground with two knocked out and the other three glaring at the knight. when the knight saw their faces, with the most expressionless face Alyssa had seen...he slapped them again. they were all knocked out, he looked to Alyssa then Masha but left them alone while disappearing in a puff of white steam together with the five women.
Alyssa wasn't too big on gender differences and she didn't mind being hit by a man. but if the man had an expressionless face like that she wouldn't be able to keep her emotions in check. Marv was waiting outside the hotel for the other two with his hands folded. when he saw them his face darkened slightly and he indicated for them to follow him. the two girls looked at each other before following Marv into a cafe nearby.
they sat at a table secluded in a corner and ordered some tea. Marv checked around for a few moments before looking at the girls.
"I think we should leave today..."
Masha and Alyssa looked at each other for a bit before looking back at Marv. Masha clearly had a face of disappointment on her face and Alyssa had a look of wonder on hers.
"well that's what we wanted to do...we just decided to wait a week for you to prepare...we were ready when we had decided to become adventurers with you."
Masha spoke with disappointment on her face slowly increasing. Alyssa tried to keep a chuckle back, Marv observed both their faces and let out a subtle sigh. he hadn't thought of doing much as the party leader, after all, he could be considered the weakest of the group, with a fighting style that was only useful if he was assisted or stronger than his opponents. he had also only recently jumped 9 levels but wasn't sure if he would lose them once more at a random time.
he then apologised to the girls and decided to set out right then. the girls agreed and left the money for their drinks with the waitress. They stopped by the hotel and picked their luggage. however, when Marv left his room and met the other two at the entrance of the hotel Masha peered at Marv and asked.
"where are the food supplies?"
this question had caught Marv off-guard and he wasn't sure of how to answer. he looked to Alyssa hoping for some support but Alyssa was watching a group of kids play by the streets. Marv could swear that even though she was looking in a different direction she was smirking at him. he looked back at Masha and the anger in her eyes was becoming more clear by the second. Marv then answered the best he could.
"I was assisted by Herald with a...spatial storage bag!"
Marv wasn't sure as to whether there were such things as spatial storage bags in this world but it was better than talking about the system. he looked at Masha for any change in expression but all he saw was an unreadable dark expression. Masha turned around and said that it's fine and that they should probably head for a carriage.
Marv didn't inquire farther and just followed. with Masha leading the group had reached the carriages and with no conversation whatsoever Masha headed for the building to move the carriage reservation date. Alyssa watched Masha enter the building and she looked towards Marv with an ice-cold gaze.
"There is nothing like a spatial storage bag in this world...there never has been...also that was a bit insensitive...mentioning her father."
"FATHER!?!"
Marv shouted aloud gaining some attention from drivers resting inside their carriages. Marv then regained his composure and thought back to when he saw Herald...he looked like a middle schooler but definitely not a father. damn, this was too weird a topic for him to understand...he looked back at Alyssa and tried to ask for more information only to be told.
"if you want to know don't ask me...but if you want to be involved go fuck Masha...but the day you do that your head will roll."
she said it with such a calm face that Marv shivered instinctively a bit. he then avoided the topic altogether and waited for about 6 minutes before Masha returned with her expression back to normal. she walked towards a certain carriage with two white horses already strapped to it. the driver sitting comfortably on the driver's seat was looking to be about the same age as the other three. he had blonde unruly hair and a lean figure with his eyes closed. he seemed to be asleep but when Masha had arrived at his carriage his eyes opened up to reveal black pupils that studied Masha closely. they seemed to talk for a bit before the guy nodded his head and started to tidy himself a bit. he had a look of exasperation on his face as Marv and Alyssa headed over.
"Hello miss and sir, my name is Finn and I shall be your carriage driver to Pamian village."
he bowed respectfully and talked with a monotone voice. he didn't try to hide his exasperation but was still respectful towards them as he went to sit back in his driver's seat. Marv looked at the guy for a second before deciding to enter the carriage. there wasn't much that was special about the carriage. the atmosphere within the carriage was silent as Alyssa played around by making statues of ice and then melting them, Masha was gazing at Alyssa's antics with a blank expression and Marv... he was still thinking about Alyssa's statement.
he was scared now and made a mental note that from that day onward...under no circumstance must he be left alone with Masha in a room...for his own safety.
