the other three women had now appeared around Masha and Alyssa. they were all rank D adventurers and were all masters of their sword auras.
Alyssa glanced around her and had her back to Masha's. this situation was not too favourable for them. Masha summoned her fencing sword and held it before her face with her eyes closed. she was emitting a strong sword aura and was focusing all her attention to the air around her. Alyssa knew that commanding the air element wouldn't be helping as Masha would need it to help locate enemies. she then resulted in commanding the ice element and an icicle was quickly forming in her right palm.
the women surrounding them were all in attacking positions. the woman with a chain on her right arm had uncoiled the chain that was now immobile and hanging down from her right hand. she had narrowed her eyes and was looking closely at Alyssa.
she could have sworn the Alyssa had used ice magic to freeze Jack but then she had also used wind magic to fly...was Alyssa a double elemental user?. the woman was now swinging the steel chain quickly gaining speed.
{very well...if she is a double elemental user then we should just play a war of attrition with her. she has magic capable of affecting a wide area for both elements and it would be disadvantageous to us if she takes us all out if we ambush her...ill take her on myself}
"ill take her on my own."
with these words, the other women stepped back and stood back for support if anything went wrong. the woman introduced herself as Lize and was now forcing her magical presence into her chain.
with her magical presence within the chain, the momentum from the chain swinging was now forced onto the building roof as the chain raised high above after striking the ground. it coiled around Lize's body with its end next to Lize's right cheek. the chain was not touching Lize's body actually but was surrounding her forming a sort of invisible wall around Lize.
the power from the chain was growing by the minute and the air was slightly disturbed. Alyssa didn't like her chances with that thing and tried to think of several strategies to defend any attack it dealt. but she came with nothing if she tried to freeze it the chain could simply regenerate and strike again. even though the chain hadn't shown any such ability Alyssa wasn't willing to try it out.
everything was quiet for a bit before the chain took the initiative to strike.
it zoomed through the air waving around making a pattern before raising its end high in the air before quickly lowering back to the ground at high speed. Alyssa and Masha were in its trajectory and couldn't respond fast enough.
"clang!"
the chain was deflected back high into the air. Masha held a broadsword in her hand that was now glowing a faint white colour. she had deflected the blow even though it should have been to fast for her.
Masha let out a short breath before jumping around Alyssa and running straight towards Lize. the chain then started striking Masha from different angles but Masha kept deflecting each strike without hesitation and jumped above the chain's body that followed after each deflection. she was quickly closing in on Lize and was now forming her fencing sword in her left hand. whether anyone noticed or not Masha had dull green eyes now.
her broadsword vanished into particles of light as Masha was sprinting across the roof. with her fencing sword in hand, she had already reached Lze and was quickly forming a strike stance with her knees bent and her right hand over the sword's blade.
"clang!"
Masha had struck her sword against a shuriken that appeared out of nowhere from her right. taking her by surprise. she jumped slightly to her left and rotated 180 degrees to deflect an incoming mace from above. she had been moved back slightly into the centre of a formation made by three of the women. Masha clenched her fist tightly around her sword hilt and grimaced.
{tsk...tsk...can't even handle such weaklings...I must say your ability has degraded Masha...how would you like for me to take over?}
{NEVER!}
Masha responded to a calm nonchalant voice that rung throughout her mind. she had refused to let that side of her out and was determined to fight on her own. Alyssa had been watching Masha and her antics. she let out a subtle sigh before deciding to help out.
with flicks of her wrists, the icicles in her palms had started forming at a much faster pace and had started to rotate around her. a loud bang was heard when one of the two last women had struck the rotating icicles only to have her dagger shattered when it came in contact with the ice.
by now the ground under Alyssa had completely frozen over and was quickly spreading across the roof. the sky was slowly turning dark as storm clouds were forming overhead the building.
the clouds were letting off an enormous amount of pressure on the ground and everyone looked up. icicles had started forming in the air under the clouds and started to drop down onto the women surrounding Masha.
"This won't do at all...nope not at all."
a voice could be heard inside all their heads and they all instinctively looked upwards. standing in the air was a man with knight armour and a black bow across his back. he had silver whitish hair and bright scarlet red eyes. he had an expressionless face and held his hands behind his back. he looked down at the group and with a snap of his fingers, all the icicles in the air immediately vanished, including the frost surrounding Alyssa. he leisurely waved his hand in the air and the storm clouds immediately dispersed. he slowly descended onto the roof and walked over to the group. he had reached the three women surrounding Masha and looked at them with a cold stare.
"well then...seems Jack hasn't learned a lesson in how to be a proper noble. making his women kill for him...ill make sure his punishment in court is suitable for this."

hey guys! author here. if you want you can just skip this part and read the next chapter when it's out. I just wanted to say that it has been a week since I decided to restart this novel and in that week I had gotten about 20 collections within the first four days then a few two to three more after that. I must say I never expected there to be people like that (even though collections aren't that much of a big deal it just surprised me that it took four days to get 20 people to add my novel in the libraries...)
