Chapter 18 - hero's party (2/10)

Marv looked to the sky. Johanna had long gone and he was left alone in the chaos dimension. Johanna said the chaos dimension would take time before being destroyed by the universe and that he should probably use that time to get his clothes on.

Marv felt a single emotion ran through his head.

he read his stats with a sense of depression just like his mental condition described. Marv hated how this worked out for him. it had been less than a month but he had gone through an experience he didn't want to think about anymore. this world was too odd. the information of planes of existences, dimensions and different races scared him tremendously. how was he supposed to save this world if it had more than just one form?. understanding what he heard from Johanna this world had seven different planes of existences. including his, they were eight. she also explained to him how the world had its way of calculating power...' stars'

he wondered how strong his power was if calculated by stars but put that thought aside. if level 441 was 8.65 stars then he wondered what power would reach 10 stars. Johanna wasn't cautious as she told Marv about herself. she seemed nice.

Marv let out a sigh and then stood up. he picked up his clothes and waited for a bit before thinking of something.

{relationship screen}

with that thought, the familiar green semi-transparent message board popped up with his list of relationships. he wondered what had changed.

he liked the new information and it made him feel slightly happier (excluding Masha of course). he looked to see if anything else was new but nothing had changed in his status screen and he patiently waited in the courtyard.

around six minutes later the ground beneath started shaking and he rocked back and forth. soon the ground started forming cracks and the sky was losing its red colour. when the shaking stopped Marv looked upward to see storm clouds that covered the whole sky. he looked towards the town hall doors and he saw a bunch of people talking with each other casually. he looked to the fish pond and the clownfish had returned.

tidying up his attire Marv looked around for Masha but she had disappeared.

{oh well, I guess the time was still moving on the outside. she probably left.}

with that thought, he forgot about Masha and headed straight to the town hall. he wasn't sure of what time it was but he decided it better to see the town hall for himself. he walked up to the tall rustic metal doors and pushed them forward. they opened slowly and he gazed at the sight before him.

the town hall had a wide lobby with a single staircase leading upstairs. the floor was polished and looked waxed. Marv set foot inside and saw how many people there were. some men were wearing armour from medieval times in his world with large swords and weapons by their sides. there was a group of women running around in white tops and blue trousers handing out pamphlets and talking at the registers. it seemed like a small hub and Marv silently walked in. he walked up to a single counter that had the large number 8 above it. the woman standing behind the register wore the same uniform as the other women. she had long white curly hair just below her shoulders. she wore glasses and had a sleepy look on her face.

Marv let out a small sigh of contempt when he looked at her breast size.

{about d cup? no no...e cup definitely.}

she looked at him for a while without saying anything while Marv had a dreamy look on his face as he fantasized forbidden magic. she soon grew tired of this and let out a small cough to regain his attention.

"oh! sorry about that... I was just...thinking of...my son."

Marv tried his best to keep a calm voice as he said this but it failed to gain the woman's favour.

"ok sir...whatever you say. anyways may I ask as to why you are here? if you are here to get an adventurer's license please give me the adventurers guild certificate saying you had passed the qualifications. if not what may I help you with?"

despite her drowsy look, she spoke rapidly and clearly. Marv looked at her half-closed eye lids and decided it was probably some type of condition and decided to not dwell on the topic.

he informed her about how he was required to get identification papers as an Archadia citizen and would like to know if there was a place he could rest at nearby.

*********

Beatrice looked at the tall handsome man before her with half-closed eyes. she had a quick thought that the man could be an adventurer but his different coloured eyes and poor clothes probably meant he was some type of demi-human but what kind was none of her concern.

she took the man to a separate room in the eastern part of the town hall and locked the door. with the locking a magic ritual appeared on the door with a star shape in the centre. this was how the people of Arcane city showed that the room was occupied or to not disturb the person inside.

she turned to face the man who was now sitting on one of the chairs before a desk with all sorts of documents placed on it. there was a large bookshelf at the corner of the room which Beatrice went to go pick a single heavy book with gold lining on its corners.

she placed the book onto the desk with a loud thump and she sat down behind the desk.

"very well sir. let us see what conditions your body is in before I give you official identification papers as an Arcane city citizen. if your blood fails the testing it may either support the theory that you are not from the base plane of existence or...you're a a person with evil karma."
