Chapter 18 - Be Organized

Being organized in the starting is hard but when it comes into practice, it would be very effective in the long run for you. Not just for studying but also for your future.

Now, I've heard that many people who keep their rooms and homes dirty are scientifical "genius" because their mind is on so many things that they don't have the time to do such an insignificant thing.

This is true, but that doesn't mean you won't ever clean your room or house. Psychologically, for those who have a messed-up house or room, their minds are also messed up.

Plus, if you have everything organized, won't it be easy to find certain objects in your house? You won't have to search it for the entire eternity for the thing again.

Habits like making your bed when you wake up are also one of those atomic habits that you can use to have an organized room.

Pencils, sharpeners, erasers, highlighter, rulers, and pens are some of those "must-have" items on your study table. Why? So that when you sit on the chair to study, you don't have to search for those items for hours ever again.

Have a file (any type) to keep your question paper and answer sheets in. This way you can correct your mistakes which you made in your last exam.

There should be a separate file for all your worksheets and assignments. What is the advantage? You can easily review them as many worksheets that our teachers give us have questions which can come in the paper.

One of the ways by which you can stay organized is, try to keep lease things outside. Keep most of your items in drawers or compartments. This will make your place look clean.

Keep one pencil stand on your table for those items that I mentioned above.

Staying organized does NOT mean you are cleaning and organizing things all the time. This will make your own habit backfire on you.

If you keep cleaning the house for the entire day, you'll waste time. Don't let things pile up for you. Why? It's eating your precious time.

Do all your assignments on time. Complete all the homework. It won't only enhance your skills, brush up your knowledge but also prepare you for upcoming exams. Plus, it gives you extra grades too.

Keep a well-kept notebook.

I advise you to keep a record of all your assignments. This way you can submit them on time without missing deadlines and getting scolded by teachers.

Secondly, Always have a study schedule.

Divide the day into parts and try to cover every subject on a regular basis. If you study mathematics every day and forget biology, somewhere, you're definitely going to slack.

So in order to avoid this situation, review the chapters, finish all the back questions in the book. This will tell you about how much you have learned from the chapter itself.

If you can't remember a point that you studied earlier in your lesson, speak it out loud again and again. This may help you in remembering it. After doing so, write it somewhere and remember it as you forgot it earlier.

As for the schedule, you don't need to be right on time. It's okay if you're late for only a few minutes or so.

There's a difference between cleaning and organizing. Cleaning is the base. First, your house should be clean to be able to organize later. The advanced step is decorating.

Make your study supplies as easy to reach as possible.

As for your distractions, make them hard to reach.

You can cut off the wifi connection at your house or turn it off on your laptop or mobile. If the work is on the laptop itself, Then what you can do is- Open a video related to "Study with me".

In these videos, people study for like so 3 hours or something with some Pomodoro breaks. This way you'll feel like you're studying with someone so you might be able to concentrate better than before.

Before a class or before your teacher comes, You should revise your notes or check which chapter we read, which page we are on, etc.

This will help you be organized at your studies and everything that you studied yesterday will come back into your mind slowly.

One more way through which you can submit your assignments is by creating your own deadlines.

It should be before the actual deadline. This will make you complete your work before submission day and save the hassle.

And lastly,

Guys, being organized is not that hard. Habits are not the destination. They are the pathway to your goals. Also, no one is perfect. Everyone has flaws. Even those people who are on very high posts, even the perfect man in the world has a flaw.

To be able to change a habit, you must have acceptance. Accept that I have this problem. Many people hide their problems. not only to others but even to themselves. Saying, "It's not that serious"

Accept that you are not okay. The second step is-- Why is it happening to you? What problems you are having because of this? And then, the solution comes.

Remember, you cannot be completely organized after learning and implementing all of this in your life. At some point, you'll still be a little messy, a little bit of a procrastinator. But, it would be way better than before.

At least, you won't make it so messy that you don't even want to start. In some way or the other, you'll do better.

Also, acceptance doesn't mean guilt.

Don't be guilty about your bad habits. I know it will make you feel pathetic because I have gone through all of this.

Why be guilty? You're not the only one having this problem. if you are, consider yourself unique, and being unique is what the world is dying to be but they can't reach their goal because they judge people too quickly sometimes and the fun fact is, Even themselves.
