Chapter 18 - Chapter 18

After with what happened with Lexie, Roxie had the boys go back inside the house while she waited upstairs in the hallway near the boys' bedrooms.

"In all my life I've never been so humiliated! I swear you four are going to be in deep bloody trouble when Scott comes back. Mark my words, this will be the last straw for the lot of you!" Lexie swore as she walked into the living room with the boys. Roxie was absolutely stunned of how upset Lexie was after what happened to her. Roxie would think Lexie would be a little upset, but to be this upset about one water balloon accidentally landing on you and blaming four teenage boys just because they ruined your look for the day was completely ridiculous. So Roxie courageously stormed out of her hiding spot to go confront Lexie and save Nathan and his band mates.

"Hey! If you want to put the blame on someone don't let it be the boys, let it be me!" Roxie remarked.

"Oh yeah and who might you be?" Lexie asked harshly.

"The name is Roxie Rodriguez and you missy are looking at the boys' soon to be new personal assistant. Now, you say that you've got a busy schedule so I suggest that you shut your mouth and let me deal with the mess. Calvin, I need for you to grab me any left over merchandise clothes that you boys have here in the house. Landon, I want you to make a hot pot of tea for Lexie. Paul and Nathan; you boys go clean up the mess out in the front. Now come on, get yourself to the guest bathroom and as soon as you're done changing you can head over to the media room where you and I are going to have a little talk." Roxie instructed. After Roxie gave out her instructions, the boys and Lexie went to go do what they were instructed to do.

"I am in complete shock. I never knew you had that in you back there. That was amazing!" Nathan praised.

"Eh; it was nothing. Lexie just needed someone to set her straight. If nobody's going to do it sooner or later, it might as well start here with me." Roxie said.

"Well, from the way you talked to Lexie earlier; I'm pretty sure you are going to get the job for being our new personal assistant." Nathan stated.

"That was just only the first part of the convincing; the next part is the proof of the songs that your band mates have written so far for your guys next album. Unless you give me at least some part of a song that you have been recently working on. That will definitely help me out a lot." Roxie told him.

"I have the first verse of one song done. Let me just get it from my bedroom." Nathan replied.

"Great; as soon as you find it bring it to me in the media room." Roxie said.

"Hey Roxie; no matter what anyone else says, you are going to be a great addition to our team." Nathan stated.

"That's if I do get the job. I still got to deal with Lexie right now." Roxie sighed.

"Hey, you are going to get that new personal assistant spot. I'm not going to be putting up with all of this doubting and what not. You are going to get that job and if Lexie or Scott can't see how extremely talented you are then its their bloody fault." Nathan remarked.

"You know you should quit the whole Rockstar thing and just become a motivational speaker. You're really good at it." Roxie giggled.

"Yeah, no thanks; I'm good with being a Rockstar." Nathan said. Roxie then just smiled at Nathan's remark.

"How is it that you out of all four of you boys know how to make me feel better when I only just met you four boys about a week ago?" Roxie wondered.

"Well its like you said earlier; you've only got to meet me and the lads about a week ago and a lot has changed since then." Nathan told her.

"I know that; it's just there's something strangely familiar about you and I can't exactly figure out what it is though. Its like you remind me of someone that I've met before, but not really. Is this making any sense to you?"

"Not really, but I do kind of get what you're trying to say." Nathan chuckled. Roxie then just rolled her eyes and laughed again. All of a sudden Calvin walked into the living room.

"Hey, what are you two laughing about?" he asked them.

"Oh, you know mate; I'm just being my ol' charming self around Roxie. Nothing big; I promise." Nathan promised.

"Yeah sure; anyway Roxie I just thought that you should know that Lexie is done changing out of her wet clothes and is waiting for you in the media room." Calvin said.

"Oh right; I almost forgot about that part. Anyway; I'd better head over there. Um, Nathan as soon as you have your song just knock on the door and I'll grab the song from you. I'll see you boys later; wish me luck." Roxie smiled. Roxie then turned and walked towards the media room. Nathan smiled and waved while Calvin just smirked at Nathan.

"What?" Nathan asked him.

"I knew it. You like Roxie." Calvin teased.

"What?! No; that's ridiculous. I've barely just got to know the girl." Nathan remarked.

"Mate, you just convinced Roxie to loosen up on your growing relationship, not to mention we are secretly trying to find Roxie a publisher. Besides, by the way and Roxie were talking to each other the past few days; it's pretty obvious that you sir have feelings for Roxie," Calvin told him. "Look, you can deny it all you want for now, but sooner or later you are going to realize that your one shot at finding true happiness was right in front of you and you were too scared to make a move." he added. Calvin then walked back upstairs and went to his bedroom. Nathan then just looked at the media room door and thought about what Calvin had just told him.

For the past half hour or so both Lexie and Roxie were in the media room discussing about the boys next album and the new personal assistant position.

"So let me get this straight. You've just came here to the UK so you can find a publisher but instead you run into Nathan at his aunt and uncle's pub and inn, stay here at the boys house for almost a week and somewhat help them write most of the songs for their next album." Lexie restated.

"Yeah that's pretty much all I have done while I've been staying here. And the whole water balloon thing was my idea. It somehow surprisingly worked because as you can see Nathan hasn't given me his two songs yet, but he told me this morning during the water war that he is going to let me help him with his songwriting. That's the reason why I made the water war." Roxie explained.

"Wait; you made the water war?"

"Yeah; that was my creative idea. I feel like the boys needed someone who was willing to listen to their ideas. One great example is Calvin; he was the first one out of all four boys that came to me for advice and I've just got to say his songwriting capabilities are off the charts. His songs are that amazing that I even told him that if he had enough confidence he should suggest to have one of his songs to be one of the bands next hit single for this upcoming album. Paul and Landon have the same capabilities as well. The boys needed some of that encouragement that they got when they started out as a band. As soon as I offered that encouragement, the boys went for it. They need someone like me who believes in them and their music." Roxie stated. All of a sudden there was a loud knock on the media room door. Roxie got up and opened the door. Nathan then entered the room with a piece of paper.

"Hey, I've got somewhat of my first-oh, Lexie you're still in here. I guess I'll come back at another time." Nathan said.

"No need; I was just about to leave. It looks like you boys got everything in order here. I'll be on my way then. Oh, and Roxie text me as soon all of the songs are done. We've got a few more weeks until Scott gets back and I better see all five of you in the studio." Lexie told them.

"Wait; you're actually considering on letting Roxie be me and the lads new personal assistant?" Nathan asked.

"I'll consider her to be a nomination for the job, that's if she can get you boys ready by then." Lexie replied.

"Don't worry by next week these boys will be ready to record their songs." Roxie said. Lexie then smiled and walked out of the media room. As soon as Lexie left the house; Calvin, Paul and Landon came downstairs.

"So; how'd the interview go?" Paul asked.

"It looks like I'm going to have to rearrange some of the things in the guest bedroom boys because it looks like I'm going to be staying over here a little while longer." Roxie smiled.

"Hold on; are you saying that Lexie is actually-." Landon stated.

"It's not official just yet, but Lexie is considering on having Roxie be a nomination for being our new personal assistant." Nathan said. As soon as the other three boys heard the news, they jumped and hugged Roxie.

"I think I'm going to go tell Annie the good news." Nathan told Roxie.

"Good idea. Anyway, we've got a whole lot of work to do. First things first; you and me need to get started on those two songs. Once that's done; you four boys are going to write three more songs, but you're going to do the songwriting together. As soon as that is done; Lexie is going to get us an appointment into the studio and hopefully by then; you boys will have somewhat of your next album done by the time Scott gets back from his business trip." Roxie instructed.

"Well in that case; I better go find my notebook and meet you later in the media room." Nathan told Roxie. Nathan then walked upstairs to his bedroom. Roxie just smiled and stared back at Nathan as he walked away. Calvin and the other three boys just chuckled at Roxie.

"What's so funny?" Roxie asked them.

"I see what's going on here." Paul said.

"What? Will one of you please tell me what's going on?" Roxie whined.

"Roxie it's nothing really. There's no need to worry about it." Landon reassured her.

"I don't know what seems so funny between the three of you but I'll get something out of the three of you." Roxie stated. She then went back to the guest bedroom.

"Looks like Nathan and Roxie's relationship is growing." Calvin mentioned to Paul and Landon.

"I wouldn't get your hopes up just yet; Roxie is only staying here for 3 months. As soon as those 3 months are done, she'll find the first plane ride back to New York. Besides Roxie and Nathan haven't even gone out on a date yet." Paul stated.

"You seem pretty unpredictable about Nathan and Roxie's relationship." Landon said as the three boys entered the living room.

"Mate, I've seen how Nathan is around girls ever since we've started becoming a band. He starts off being nice while getting to know them and once something serious comes along-BAM; he drops the ball and disappears from the girls life for good." Paul remarked.

"What if Roxie is different from all those other girls? She's somehow proved it ever since she and Nathan had met." Calvin told him.

"He does have a good point there. She did somehow deny him when he asked her out to dinner the other day." Landon said.

"Paul; Landon and I are just saying to give this relationship a chance. Who knows maybe this could be the one relationship that changes Nathan." Calvin suggested.

"Alright; fine but I'm only doing it because Nathan is our band mate, but mark my words; Nathan and Roxie's relationship is not going to last that long." Paul sighed. What the other boys didn't know was that Nathan had heard the whole conversation. Nathan knew that he didn't have much time to get Roxie to at consider making their relationship more than just professional. If Nathan wanted his plan to work, needed to act fast.
