As soon as Roxie was done talking to Cassie, she turned off her laptop and walked out of her bedroom and headed towards the kitchen. It was there Roxie found Nathan eating some potato chips.
"Are you enjoying your little snack there?" Roxie asked him.
"Yep, these babies right her are probably the best potato crisps in London and they're from my all time favorite restaurant." Nathan replied.
"Really; and what restaurant might that be?"
"It's called Maverick's. It's kind of this Mediterranean mixes with European comfort food restaurant." Nathan explained.
"Oh; and here I thought you were going to say your aunt and uncle's pub. Well that's nice, you should take me there one of these days." Roxie smiled.
"Well since you are technically considered a tourist; I'll see if I can squeeze it into my schedule." Nathan said.
"Cool; then it's a date. Anyway, are you ready for your first songwriting session with me?"
"Yes ma'am and if you'll just follow me, I'll lead you to my little hideout." Nathan chuckled. Roxie and Nathan then walked out of the kitchen and started to head upstairs.
"You're not going to take me up to your room are you?" Roxie asked.
"Not exactly. The place where we're going is pretty top secret and is only used by me." Nathan explained.
"Wait; Paul, Landon and Calvin don't know about this place?"
"No; Calvin has been to it a couple of times, but that's on rare occasions." Nathan said as he opened another door that had another set of stairs. Roxie then looked at Nathan. Nathan then reached out his hand and Roxie let him guide her up the stairs to Nathan's secret hideout. When they both finished walking up the stairs; Roxie and Nathan entered a little hallway. Pretty soon Nathan opened a door to a room with a desk, keyboard, computer, acoustic guitar and full size bed.
"Welcome to my private songwriting loft." Nathan said.
"Wow; this is pretty cool." Roxie told him.
"Thanks; I pretty much come up here for almost everything. It's kind of my little escape from all of the drama that happens downstairs and in the music industry." Nathan explained.
"Huh; and here I thought you would say that going to a pub and getting drunk would be you little escape." Roxie teased.
"Ha, ha; very funny. Anyway shall we get to work?"
"By all means; the floor is all yours." Roxie smiled as she sat down on the bed. Nathan then placed his notebook on the desk, grabbed the acoustic guitar and started to play the melody of the song. To Roxie's surprise the song was beautiful. Unlike Paul, Landon and Calvin; Nathan had very few errors on his songwriting. With every word from every verse, Roxie felt as if the song was taking her to another world. When Nathan was done; Roxie just sat there in silence.
"So what do you think?" Nathan asked.
"What do I think? I think that was probably one of the best songs that I have heard from any of you boys. Nathan; that song is amazing!" Roxie stated.
"Thanks; I had a feeling you would like it. So, you've got any tips for me that I could use just in case I need to use them sometime in the near future?"
"Not really, but maybe you should try to not shut yourself out from everyone. I know that maybe you prefer to do your songwriting on your own; and don't get me wrong that's perfectly fine, but if you at least could try to bring Calvin, Paul or Landon up here every once in a while; things would be a little bit much better between the four of you." Roxie suggested.
"Cool; I'll put that into consideration. Cassie seems like a nice girl." Nathan said.
"Yeah, she is; I'm actually considering on having her come over to the UK in a few days." Roxie replied.
"Really; let me guess: you two miss each other too much already that she's decided to buy a plane ticket to visit you here in London." Nathan chuckled.
"Not exactly; let's just say she's coming over for more of like a business deal." Roxie admitted.
"Business deal?"
"You boys lend your private jet to some people right?" Roxie asked.
"Are you bloody mad?! There's absolutely no way we are going to let Cassie fly over here on our private jet. I'm sorry Roxie; but I can't allow it." Paul stated.
"Oh, come on Paul; it's just one little flight from here to New York and then back to California. No one's gong to be interested in that. Besides, we're just doing a tiny favor for Roxie." Nathan told him.
"You know I'm starting to think you are becoming more soft ever since Roxie has stayed here." Paul mentioned.
"That is ridiculous?! I'm only doing this because I'm a good friend to Roxie," Nathan remarked. "I would think the three of you would understand since you guys have gotten close to her these past few days." he added.
"I'm afraid to say this, but Nathan has a good point there mate. You, me and Landon have become really good friends to Roxie while she's been staying here and I think; as being her friends, we should do this one favor for her and Cassie." Calvin stated.
"Yeah, I mean it'll probably only just be Cassie on the plane mate. It's not like she's going to be bringing anybody else with her." Landon added.
"Look, the main reason why Roxie is doing this is because Roxie believes that the whole 'helping the four of us with writing our next album' thing isn't going to be enough evidence to convince Scott to have Roxie be our new personal assistant." Nathan explained.
"That makes no sense. Lexie has seen what Roxie has done with us already. That should count at least for something, right?" Landon asked.
"Yeah, but the problem is that we know how challenging it is to try to convince Scott to approve something that we want to do as a band or who we want to be a part of the band's managing team." Calvin replied.
"Which is why she is having Cassie come here in the first place! I can't believe I didn't think of this before!" Paul said as he went over to the calendar that was hanging on the wall by the fridge.
"Am I missing something?" Landon asked.
"Look; Scott isn't going to come back to the UK until sometime at the end of the month because he's busy trying to find us an opening act for our next tour. If we could have Cassie done and ready by the time Scott gets back; there could be a possible chance that Roxie could become our new personal assistant and that Cassie could have a career in music." Paul pointed out.
"It's up to you mate. What do you say?" Landon asked Nathan.
"I say that Roxie better contact Cassie as soon as possible because we got a ton of work to do in the next few weeks." Nathan said.
