They arrived back at home a few hours later.
"I'm home…" [Adam]
"Welcome back!" [Vivian]
Vivian had appeared down the hallway, greeting them at their return.
"Sorry we're late." [Felix]
"Where were you guys?" [Vivian]
"Somewhere they weren't supposed to be. Anyways, where's dinner?" [Aurora]
"It's been done, I tried preserving its heat in the- huh?" [Vivian]
She noticed Sebastian behind the group as they made their way in.
"Is that your sister Adam?" [Sebastian]
"Yeah, we're kind of all living in your house for now." [Adam]
Sebastian walked up to her and held her hands.
"Thank you for taking care of my little brother while I was away. I hope he hasn't caused you any problems." [Sebastian]
Vivian's cheeks flushed. It appeared that contact was too much stimulation for her.
"N-n-no problem. H-he was a good boy while we stayed here. I-I should be the one t-thanking you for l-letting us stay here..." [Vivian]
("A good boy?") [Felix]
("She's stuttering her way through the conversation…") [Adam]
"Can we just get to eating?" [Aurora]
"Ah, right away!" [Vivian]
She stumbled her way into the kitchen, setting up the plates for dinner.
"I'll help as well." [Sebastian]
He proceeded to roll up his sleeves as he walked into the kitchen, but his shoulders were grabbed by Adam and Felix.
"Hm? You two need something?" [Sebastian]
"I think it would be better if you didn't go in there." [Adam]
"I'm pretty sure if you helped, Vivian would probably drop all the plates." [Felix]
"Is that so…?" [Sebastian]
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
Dinner had passed and Felix dragged Sebastian to the living room for questioning.
"First things first. How did you heal?" [Felix]
"I opened my eyes." [Sebastian]
"Yeah, but how did opening your eyes relate to that?" [Adam]
"I used my ability." [Sebastian]
"And how did your absorption do that?" [Felix]
"Who said I used absorption for that?" [Sebastian]
"You just said you used your ability though." [Adam]
"I did, but not that one." [Sebastian]
"...You have more than one ability?" [Felix]
"Yeah." [Sebastian]
"WHAT?!?!" [Adam] [Felix]
"It's called conversion, I used it to convert anything I absorb into something else." [Sebastian]
"Is that why you don't have an absorption limit?" [Felix]
"Where do you even store it?" [Adam]
"My eyes. Why do you think I have it closed all the time?" [Sebastian]
"How do you even have two abilities?" [Felix]
"I originally had one. Conversion was… given to me." [Sebastian]
"Want to tell us about it?" [Adam]
"You two are too young for that." [Sebastian]
"You know, its so frustrating how you always dodge the subject when it matters." [Felix]
"By the way, I remember Aurora mentioning something about phase two. What is that anyways?" [Adam]
"Phase two is when I open my eyes. I have to gain permission to open them because my second ability isn't registered in the military. If I opened them without permission, I would be mistaken for a voidling." [Sebastian]
("Mr. Frank did mention something like that on the second day of school.") [Adam]
"Honestly, if Aurora didn't call HQ, I would've just gone ahead and opened them anyways." [Sebastian]
"How bad would it have been if she didn't?" [Adam]
"The alarms would ring and a level 10 threat would be issued." [Sebastian]
"L-level 10?! How much mana do your eyes have?!" [Adam]
"Enough to floor a country." [Sebastian]
"How do you even have that much? All you do is watch anime and play games!" [Felix]
"There are reasons I go on trips you know. Also I usually only use my absorption, so there's no reason to actually use mana." [Sebastian]
"I'm surprised your eyes haven't exploded or something." [Adam]
"It only enhances my eyes' natural features. My eyesight is good enough to see through my eyelids now, so it fixes my problem of having to close my eyes all the time." [Sebastian]
"Thats creepy…" [Adam]
"I think that's enough questions about today, what about the dungeon we were in?" [Felix]
"You mean the one where Adam got his soul weapon?" [Sebastian]
"Yeah, I noticed that I was able to easily slice through a level 4 with Spatial Slash." [Felix]
"No need to brag, but go on." [Sebastian]
"For some reason, I wasn't even able to scratch a voidling with it in there. And the dungeon master was even more powerful. Tell me the truth, what level were they?" [Felix]
"I wasn't there when you fought the voidlings inside the dungeon, but I was able to find out a bit while I rushed through them." [Sebastian]
"And?" [Adam]
"It turns out, the dungeon you two were in was an abnormal grade dungeon. The voidlings were from level 1 to level 9, and the dungeon master was at least level 10 or higher." [Sebastian]
"There are higher levels than level 10?!" [Adam]
"Adam, Mr. Frank told us that anything higher than level 10 is still considered level 10 on the first day of school." [Felix]
"Oh, yeah. My bad." [Adam]
"Anyways, such a dungeon did not exist until you two appeared in it. Which is the strange part. Do you guys have any recollection of what happened before you got there?" [Sebastian]
"A little girl talked to us." [Adam]
Sebastian turned to look at Aurora, who was snacking off some chips while watching television.
"You better look away or else I'll poke out those non-existent eyes of yours." [Aurora]
"I'll keep that in mind." [Sebastian]
"She basically pushed us into a portal, sending us into the dungeon." [Felix]
"A little girl…" [Sebastian]
He sat there, lost in thought. Although they couldn't see his eyes, they could somehow feel it drifting towards Aurora.
"What did I just say, Sebastian?" [Aurora]
"Oh, whoops. That was an accident." [Sebastian]
The next instant, Aurora appeared before Sebastian.
"I told you to not look at me!" [Aurora]
She tried to jab Sebastian's eyes, but he caught her hand.
"I told you it was an accident. Can you let it slide?" [Sebastian]
Pausing for a moment, she reluctantly withdrew her hand and returned to snacking.
"There better not be a next time." [Aurora]
"Anyways, were there any more incidents involving this little girl?" [Sebastian]
"Yeah, she was in our backyard when we got home one time." [Felix]
"And what happened after that?" [Sebastian]
"Felix got hit with ptsd or something." [Adam]
"That's not what happened." [Felix]
"Bro, you totally got super mad for some reason. I saw you use Spatial Slash on her." [Adam]
"That… was me making sure she didn't send us into another portal." [Felix]
"Oh yeah, she also did something similar to Felix's Domain Expansion." [Adam]
"What do you mean?" [Sebastian]
"We couldn't move. Everything stopped, including my Spatial Slash." [Felix]
"Hm… since it was able to stop it, her ability isn't related to space." [Sebastian]
"What could it be then?" [Adam]
"Probably… Time Manipulation." [Sebastian]
"Time Manipulation? You mean she has a level 10 ability?" [Felix]
"...Something like that." [Sebastian]
("It feels like he's hiding something from us.") [Adam]
"Anyways, I heard you guys were going to party this Sunday for getting first and second place at school." [Sebastian]
"I kind of lost my reward for it already though…" [Adam]
"Was it that shield?" [Sebastian]
"It was that MDE, yes. There goes my 15 minutes of reading the manual down the drain." [Felix]
"...Adam." [Sebastian]
"What's up?" [Adam]
"Did you make Felix read the manual for you again?" [Sebastian]
"It was at least four inches thick. You can't blame me for that." [Adam]
"...You should try reading it on your own next time." [Sebastian]
"Whatever, can we get back on topic?" [Adam]
"The party right? If you guys don't have a place for that yet, I know a good one." [Sebastian]
"Is it the Old Gentleman?" [Adam]
"How did you know?" [Sebastian]
"I showed him." [Felix]
"...Good choice. I believe it's time for your curfew." [Sebastian]
"We have a curfew? It's only 9 pm though." [Adam]
"Enough questions, just go to sleep. I have something for you two tomorrow." [Sebastian]
("I wonder what it could be?") [Adam]
"Maybe a surprise training montage?" [Krino]
("Shut up.") [Adam]
