Chapter 35 - A Rude Customer

It was early morning, the sun was barely out and Adam was still slumbering within his warm sheets. Footsteps approached his room quietly, careful not to make a sound. A hand gently shakes Adam awake, but he only pulled his sheets over.

"Five more minutes…" [Adam]

"Wake up, we have to go." [???]

"Where though…" [Adam]

"Today is Sunday, we have to go to the party." [???]

Adam poked his head out from under the sheets, squinting at the figure before him.

"Who are… you?" [Adam]

"Alright, I've had enough of this." [???]

Another figure emerged from behind the first, and yanked Adam's covers out of his hands.

"Nooo! My warmth…" [Adam]

His eyes adjusted to the morning light and he realized it was Sebastian and Felix.

"I took off your blankets already, get up." [Felix]

"Come on… what time is it?" [Adam]

"Eight am." [Sebastian]

"What? Why would we go to the Old Gentleman at eight am?" [Adam]

"It is a natural thing for men to arrive hours before the women." [Sebastian]

"It's natural you say…" [Adam]

"Indeed." [Sebastian]

"Do I have a choice?" [Adam]

"Of course you have a choice, it's only an obligation." [Sebastian]

"...Wait, doesn't that mean I don't have a choice?" [Adam]

"Just get changed." [Felix]

He threw a change of clothes at Adam and dragged Sebastian out of the room.

"Am I not allowed to choose my clothes as well?" [Adam]

Felix stopped at the door, turning his head towards Adam.

"Why would I let you choose your clothes for this outing? Your fashion sense sucks." [Felix]

He completely leaves the room, and slams the door shut.

("...Guess I'll have to wear what he provided today.") [Adam]

They left the house after Adam had changed, that includes skipping breakfast. Walking down the street, Felix and Adam shivered as the cold morning wind blew past them.

"Brrrr… Why couldn't we have left at nine am? It would be much warmer by then." [Adam]

"Your sister would be up by then, but I can't say the same about Aurora." [Sebastian]

"Is she a heavy sleeper?" [Felix]

"She… likes to indulge in her desires I guess." [Sebastian]

("I guess lazing around while eating isn't the only thing she spends all her time on.") [Adam]

"Careful, if Aurora catches you thinking that…" [Krino]

A chill crawled down his spine, and it wasn't the cold morning wind that caused it.

("I don't even want to imagine what she would do to me.") [Adam]

A few minutes later, they arrived at The Old Gentleman. The doorbell jingled as they entered the restaurant. They were approached by Mia, the waitress.

"Ah, sorry, but we're not open yet." [Mia]

"I came here for that purpose." [Sebastian]

Sebastian stood in front, revealing himself to her.

"S-Sebastian?!" [Mia]

She seemed flustered, and covered her face with a clipboard.

"Wh-what brings you here today?" [Mia]

("This harem bastard…") [Adam]

"I wanted to reserve the restaurant for today, I'll pay however much you want." [Sebastian]

"...I'll have to talk to the bar master for a moment." [Mia]

She scurried to the back of the store and came back out shortly after.

"So, how many people?" [Mia]

"Five, we're waiting on two right now." [Sebastian]

"Right this way." [Mia]

She led them to the bar counter where they ate last time Adam and Felix were here.

"It's been a while Sebas-boy." [Bar Master]

"I would prefer if you didn't treat me like a child. I'm an adult now." [Sebastian]

"Hohoho, you're still a child in my eyes. I still remember the young man desperately trying to get stronger. Ah… how you've grown…" [Bar Master]

The bar master looked elsewhere, as if he was reminiscing something.

"Uhm... Should we order something?" [Adam]

The old man snapped back to reality, thanks to Adam's words.

"Ah that's right, what would you like?" [Bar Master]

He brought out five menus and laid them out on the counter. The three sifted through their choices until they were finally ready to order.

"I forgot to mention, but only order drinks until Vivian and Aurora come." [Sebastian]

"Hm? Why?" [Adam]

"So they don't get left out. Wouldn't it be sad if we already finished eating by the time they arrive?" [Sebastian]

"...You're right." [Adam]

He raised his hand notifying the bar master.

"Can I get a Rainbow Lemon Mix?" [Adam]

"The hell is a Rainbow Lemon Mix?" [Felix]

"It's a variety of lemonade colors. There isn't much of a difference compared to normal lemonade, but it's still fun to look at." [Bar Master]

"Interesting… Then can I have a Grillberry Deluxe?" [Felix]

"Now it's my turn to ask what the hell that is." [Adam]

"It's a drink composed of juices from berries that have been grilled until they change flavor." [Bar Master]

("That… doesn't sound very appetizing to me…") [Adam]

"How about you Sebas-boy?" [Bar Master]

"I'll have the Wandering Dragon." [Sebastian]

"Wandering Dragon?" [Adam]

"It's an alcoholic drink." [Sebastian]

"I'll have it ready in a few." [Bar Master]

The bar master hands became a blur. His speed, skill, and grace had Adam mesmerized.

("This old man is incredible! I can't even see his hands!") [Adam]

In only a few moments, the bar master had finished their drinks.

"Uh… bar master? Can I ask you a question real quick?" [Adam]

"Go ahead." [Bar Master]

"What is your ability?" [Adam]

"It's nothing much. It's Fusion." [Bar Master]

"Fusion?" [Adam]

"It helps me make drinks faster. I can fuse all the flavors without changing its original taste." [Bar Master]

("What a creative way to use his ability…") [Adam]

They sipped their drinks, stalling for time. Eventually, they heard the doorbell jingle. Not to their surprise, it was Vivian and Aurora. Mia came over to them and guided them to the counter.

"Take your time." [Mia]

She bowed briefly before resuming her work.

"Now, we can order right?" [Adam]

"Sure. Help yourselves." [Sebastian]

After a few minutes, Mia took their orders.

"Will that be all?" [Mia]

"Yes, that will be all." [Sebastian]

He smiled at her, making her embarrassed. Mia felt like someone was watching her and looked around. Her eyes locked with Vivian's and they instantly deemed one another as an enemy.

("Why are they staring at each other?") [Sebastian]

("Oh boy…") [Adam]

Mia entered the kitchen, preparing their meals.

"I believe now is a good time to give you two your gifts." [Sebastian]

"From the tournament?" [Adam]

"Yeah, I picked something up for you two during my trip." [Sebastian]

He brought out two oval shaped rocks and handed one to each of them.

("Rocks?") [Adam]

"Are these… good luck charms or something?" [Felix]

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING SEBASTIAN?!?!" [Aurora]

Aurora stood up, practically jumping out of her seat.

"I'm giving them a present." [Sebastian]

Aurora slammed her fist against the table.

"Don't give them that! Do you even know what those are?!" [Aurora]

"Of course I do." [Sebastian]

"Then why are you giving it to them!" [Aurora]

"To reward them." [Sebastian]

"It's excessive! Adam! Felix! Give them back right now!" [Aurora]

"Keep them." [Sebastian]

The two were confused whether or not to keep or give them away.

("Wh-what do I do? I don't want to get whooped by either of them!") [Adam]

"Can you explain to us what's going on first?" [Felix]

"Yeah, is there something wrong with these rocks?" [Adam]

Aurora calmed herself and sat back down.

"Those aren't just… rocks, you know." [Aurora]

The two shot a confused look at her.

"They're eggs. Not just any eggs, but eggs from the other side of a void." [Aurora]

"There's another side of a void?" [Adam]

"Ah. You weren't supposed to tell them that." [Sebastian]

As they spoke, the doorbell jingled once more.

"Excuse me, the restaurant has been reserved today- Kya!" [Mia]

A group of people came into the restaurant, shoving Mia out of the way.

"Yo, Adam. It's time for payback." [???]
