Chereads / Rainbow After Tomorrow / Chapter 33 - Cuddle time.

Chapter 33 - Cuddle time.

I looked around and I already know I passed out last night. Did I faint again? My head is throbbing. I sighed. I laughed at myself. This is so absurd. No matter how many years passed.

It's getting harder and harder every single time I try to forget about it. And day by day, the nightmare seems longer and the anxiety grows bigger.

I stepped out from the bed and the pants fell down. I stare at the pants for a minute. Stunned. I laughed. Did he put pants on me this time? Usually, it's only a shirt, but today it's a package even though the pants are too big. I mean the shirt that he wore, it looked like a dress to me.

I grabbed a pair of pants from the floor and folded it, and put it on the nightstand. What's the use of the pants when they keep falling?

I walked wobbly outside and I could smell something good. He's home? I frowned. I already know that he's busy but oh god I'm such a burden. He must take another day off, I hope he didn't.

I closed my eyes tight and smiled. I brought my hair in the front and totally covered my face, tip-toeing to the kitchen and sneaked five feet apart from him so when he jumped, he didn't attack me.

"Fuck!" he screamed. And I smiled. Hehe. It works. I'd scared him! "Baby, don't do that."

I flipped my hair back and smiled at him.

"Why are you home? What about work?" He glanced at the worktop where his laptop had been placed.

"I can work from home too."

Oh...

"It's fine, I'm going home anyway. Diana's going to come over. Can you send me home?"

He turned around facing the pan again without saying anything. Did he know I lied?

"Well...you don't really know how to lie," he said. Did he just read my mind or something? He was not even looking.

"No. Your face is obvious. Just stay home. I'll be right here. And plus, you haven't finished 'How To Train Your Dragon part three."

Oh, yeah! I forgot about that. Maybe I should watch the third movie now.

"Where are your pants?" he asked without looking as his hands were busy with breakfast. I glanced at the burned bacon, haha, how can you burn the bacon?

"Princess?" I looked at him with a stupid face. Did he say something?

"Huh?"

"Where are your pants?" he spoke clearer.

I looked down at my bare legs. Ah…

"It's too big, it keeps falling. And your shirt is big enough to cover up." I said nonchalantly.

He smiled, and let out a heavy sigh.

"Go and sit down, breakfast will be ready soon."

"If you can't cook anything else but Japanese, you don't have to. I love Japanese food too, especially when you cook it." I said, looking at his struggle, and another attempt at sizzling bacon. He clicked his tongue and scoffed.

"You are disturbing me and you are distracting me. Go away, babe. I can do this!"

I smirked, okay...okay… if you said so, honey.

I stepped out from the kitchen and went to the sofa, grabbed the remote and turned on the tv. Here we go, How To Train a Dragon part three.

I grabbed a cushion and hugged it, leaning back to the sofa.

"Ah, I gave up. Let's just eat these." I heard his scowl. Haha, funny. I glanced at him who stepped out from the kitchen with a tray. He is even good looking today too.

"Here you go, princess. a perfect sunny side up, perfect sausages and some baked beans, and burned bacon. Here is some orange juice, a fresh one, for my lovely wife. I mean future wife. The wife soon to be. I will make you onigiri if you're still hungry, later." he said, placing the breakfast in front of me. It's burned but I'm touched.

"Thank you! I will enjoy this." He smiled at me and gave me a plate. I took a bite of his burned bacon and laughed.

"Haha, you're so cute, Ayden." I blurted and focus on the screen. Watching the movie with full concentration.

And it's sad. That I cried and it's beautiful and I cried again. And without even noticing the movie comes to end.

It's good. I love it.

I looked down at my empty plate and put it down on the coffee table.

I glanced at Ayden who was also leaning back to the sofa, expressionless staring at the screen. Soon after he realised that I'm looking at him, he tilted his head and smiled.

"Do you like the movie?" He asked, stroking my wavy hair.

I nodded with a smile and he obviously was not into that movie.

"What about you?" I asked. He leaned his back and stared at the tv. And I don't know why but his dark circle under his eyes was getting darker, and he looked cold.

"Well…it's so-so. I love horror or thrillers. But, I do enjoy animation too." he said, smiling at me. That fake smile! Is he being moody? Why?

I stared at him and squinted my eyes. Hm? He looked different. Why is that?

"Ah!" I gasped, how can I forget? I bought a lot of stuff for him!

"I have presents for you! I bought some things for you, I forgot about it."

He looked at me, with a confused face.

"From yesterday shopping? You bought something from me?"

"Yeah! Let me go get them."

"I already put the bags in my room...wait you bought something for me?" His lips slowly curled up. Did I lighten up his mood, even a bit?

I smiled wider, pushing back my hair off from my shoulders.

I hurriedly stood up and ran to his room to grab some bags. And he, who followed me, sat on the bed.

I grabbed five bags that I bought for him and gave them to him. He looked at me with a bright smile and chuckles.

"All of these? Really?"

"I hope you like it, but I don't know if it's the right size, the measurement is a bit off from what you have at home," I said, sitting next to him as he excitedly looked inside the bags.

"Awe...baby… you don't have to buy me anything. Did you use all of the salaries?"

"I have more money than you think. Just take it. Try it!" He stared at me in awe, and took out a grey satin shirt first, of course. From a guy who only wears three colours.

"My girlfriend is a rich lady, I see… Thank you, sweetheart. Hold on, let me try it." He stood up and took off his white t-shirt and put the new shirt on. He laughed wickedly as he buttoned up the cloth.

I laughed, that looked so good on him.

"Wow, how handsome," I said, proud of myself. The art looks better now.

"Yeah, it's cool. I like it."

"Try them all, let me see! Oh, I just remembered that I also bought you this." I jumped out from the bed and grabbed my tote bag, rummaged inside it, and took out a small paper bag and passed it to him. "I don't know if you're going to like it."

"Yeay!!! More gifts! Thank you, darling. A bangle? Awee...baby!" He threw the paper bag on the floor and quickly put on the bangle and hugged me. Tight!

"Baby, I'm so happy! I will put on everything right now! Thank you so much, princess. I'm so touched!"

I laughed and hugged him back. "Did you feel better now? You're not upset anymore?"

"Haha, I'm not upset, baby. I'm just tired because I don't get any sleep."

I frowned and pushed him a little.

"Oh, it's not because of you, darling. I had some stuff to do last night, an urgent task. Regarding this one client, I stayed up all night. You slept soundlessly last night. It's not because of you." he said as if he was reading my mind, pointing his finger to the study table. One word. Messy with papers.

Are all photographers like this or is it just him?

"You must be busy. I should go home."

"No, stay. Let's have a date at home. Home date!" he said seriously.

"Uh, okay. Let's watch a movie then." I said, sitting back on the bed. He smiled and unbuttoned his shirt and tossed his shirt next to me before he tried the other clothes on.

-------

It's kinda stuffy. And hot and I'm sweating. I slowly opened my eyes and rubbed them. I'm tired. I looked up at the person who I cuddled with, who also fell asleep. It's dark already? And the room filled with no light but from the moonlight and other buildings. It's so quiet and the living room and the only sound I can hear is Ayden's breath.

He looked so peaceful. And stunning. I removed his hands from my waist and stood up and stretched. I walked to the kitchen and switched on the light. I need water. And what time is it now?

I glanced at the clock, it's eight forty PM. That's a long nap!

I gulped down a glass of water and spaced out.

Hmm, I need food.

I gathered my hair up and tied up a bun. I'm starving. I opened the fridge and looked for food. I don't think I want to cook. I/m too lazy to cook.

I turned around for a moment when I heard someone yawning. Who else? My baby!

"Hungry?" he scratched his stomach and was still looking half asleep. I nodded and sighed.

"Let's order something, I don't feel like cooking."

"Umm...okay…" he hugged me from behind and rested his chin on my shoulder. "What do you want to eat?"

"I don't know. What about you?"

"Let's order sushi, shall we?"

"Sure," I said, walked back to the living room, with him stuck behind me. I somehow feel like I'm a penguin.

"Stay here, I'll be right back within a second," he said, walking slowly to grab his phone and come back with a frown.

"Baby, I think I need to go see Susan for a while. Can we cancel our date for today?"

"What's wrong?"

"One of our clients flipped off at the office because they didn't come out as what they wanted. And they wanted a refund. And I need to take care of it." he said, already grabbing his shirt and wearing it.

"It's late though."

"I know, I'm sorry. Why don't you stay over, I'll be right back before midnight."

I looked at him with a smile and stood up too.

"I'll just go home, can you send me first before going there?" he looked at me and stared at his phone in turn.

"Okay, uhh let me grab your thing, baby." he went back to the room and back with all of my stuff with him. He even grabbed his iPad too. "Let's go."

I followed his lead and walked to the doorway. For some reason. I feel sad. I think I'm being selfish cause I wish that he stayed.
