Jennifer of the 1940s Entry #2
I have been tailing her for almost two months. Even though we're classmates, she didn't approach me even once, as if really she's avoiding me. There was a time where we accidentally bumped into each other. She just smiled at me and even greeted me, calling me by my surname. Aside from that, the only odd thing that I noticed is about how she interact with our classmates. She's really acting like a normal human being, she even acquired lots of attention because of her intelligence, friendliness... and beauty.
There's also another thing that bothers me... alongside with her appearance, no strange deaths or accidents have been reported recently... which is very unusual because there used to be tons of incident connected to supernaturals before she came...
Maybe she is a Rodolfo or a Draven? The guardians of the night? That's why there's no casualties recently?

"H-hey! Aaron! Wait up!" I immediately stopped and turned to that voice, "W-why are you in s-such a hurry? Aren't we supposed to go to the store?" Oh... yeah... right...
"U-uhm... Of course! I remember that!" then I chuckled nervously and scratched the back of my head.
"Jeez... you're so annoying. I knew that you'll forget that." still out of breath, Mark threw the deadliest glare that I have ever seen. I once again laughed and raised my hands as if I'm surrendering and don't want to put up a fight.
"What are you even up to? Why are you in such a hurry to leave?" I paused for a moment. Should I tell him? Is it okay to tell him? I mean... he's my best friend after all...
"I-is it related to supernaturals???" in an instant his glares turned into excitement. I sighed, Well, this is the reason why I hesitated...
"Can I come? Can I come? I wanna see it!" like a child, he started hopping. So? where is the person fuming with anger that I saw earlier?
"Nope." as soon as I said that, he started pleading.
"W-well... not now... maybe next time... I think?" and with that, he immediately clapped and shouted, getting an awkward stare from the students who are passing by.
"You promise???"
"Y-yeah... so... are we still going to the store?" he paused, as if he was thinking...
"Maybe next time... I think it's too early to do the project anyway... so take your time and do it quickly so you'll be able to do your promise as soon as possible, I'll just tell it to our group mates." then he smiled and left... just like that... I frowned and immediately left the school... so what should I do now? I didn't even know if he's allowed to see Jennifer.
As soon as I stepped my foot outside our school, the rain started pouring so I immediately looked for my umbrella... that... is... missing.
Wow... is there any more unfortunate thing that's going to happen?
"Uhm... do you need an umbrella?" I flinched at the voice that came from behind.
"O-oh. Did I startle you? Sorry... I just saw that you're frustrated and assumed that you need an umbrella..." I instantly blushed as I realized who it is...
"Y-yeah... your assumption is correct." then I chuckled. Come on man. Don't mess it up.
"Here..." then she handed me an umbrella "... you can use it for a while..." then she smiled which made my heart flutter.
"U-uhm... Thank you Sophie..." then I bowed my head... Hoping that she won't notice my cheeks that are turning red. Maybe this day isn't bad at all.
"You can return it anytime... and... don't forget to update me about our project, okay?"
"Yeah... Sure..." after that, she quickly said her goodbyes and left the school.
With a smile on my face, I happily walked towards home. I'll take back what I said earlier... Maybe this isn't a bad day at all...

"You're late." my smile immediately disappeared as I was welcomed by my father's disappointed expression.
"U-uhm... I'm sorry... I-it's just t-tha—"
"No. Save your explanation to yourself. I told you that you should balance your school life and your duty... I'm a bit disappointed..." my fists automatically clenched by his remark. It's not that I chose this life!
He seemed to notice my reaction and raised his right eyebrow.
"You know that you should have done better... Anyway, freshen up a bit and rush to the headquarter... Jennifer is waiting." with that, he left and I was left alone.
I took a deep breath and tried to brush off my thought then walked slowly towards the headquarter. Wishing that all of this thing can end soon...

"Is it raining outside?" Jennifer asked as I entered the room. I just looked at her. Wondering why she asked that kind of question.
"Oh. Nevermind. It's just that misfortunes normally occur during rainy season..." after that, she just quietly continue reading her book.
"Why do you even have tons of stuff in here?" I asked her as I looked around her room. I just realized that her room is quite jammed with random stuffs, mostly books to be specific. There's also a curtained section at the corner.
"Well... You see... Derek used to spoil me a LOT... you know, like a big brother!" with that, she instantly smiled "... it's too bad that he's not the one who'll accompany me anymore." her smile turned into a frown and she even turned her back at me.
"I heard that Derek is assigned to another HQ. Somewhere closer to the university he'll be in." I explained but she just ignored me and just turned around and stared at me.
"Something feels different about you..." she whispered and even eyed on me, but even before I can reply, father entered the room.
"Starting the conversation without me?" father asked as he entered the room.
"She's just whining about Derek not being here..." I answered and quietly chuckled.
"Anyway, I did some research... And I found out why you hate me..." no response nor reaction came from her "... Is it because of our resemblance?" she began to quietly laughed and little by little, her laugh became louder.
"Of course not. Do you think I'm still holding a grudge against him? I'm already satisfied that I already killed him..." she faced me with an amused expression. Showing me bits of her real identity "... you know what... maybe our deity is very pleased with my last offering, that's why I'm still alive until now." then she smirked and mockingly looked at my father.
"But that doesn't mean that you'll live longer... How many decades have you been staying inside this barrier? I'm pretty sure that you're almost out of your life source. I've been observing you for a little while... You're not that strong the way you used to be."
"Well... I don't care. At least this way I'll be free from whatever chain that binds me. How about you, Jared? Are you free from the chains that bind you?" Mockery. That's all I hear from her voice.
"Once you're dead, humanity will be free from the chain of fear that binds us." Jennifer grinned at father's reply.
"Oh... Right... Silly humans. The prophecy that you're holding against us."
"Once you die, the last descendant of the Tavora clan, the prophecy will be broken and humanity's future will be secured."
So... She is a Tavora. Tavoras are known as bringer of misfortune. They trick humans, making deals with them and promising that they'll give what their heart desires.
"How are you even sure that she's a Tavora?" I interfered.
"A supernatural from the Silvano confirmed it. Aside from that, no signs of Tavoras occured after their annihilation by the Eurytons... An evidence was also written in... Maximus' notes..."
Oh. That? I haven't read that part I guess... But...
"The Silvanos? Eurytons? How? Aren't they an ally of the Tavoras? They all came from the Elexa tribe..." Jennifer seemed to be displeased by our conversation, her expression says it all.
"We currently have an agent there... and for the Euryt—"
"The painful truth is... Eurytons, the giants, the most powerful clan in our tribe, were used by the Barises to locate each clan. They annihilated their own allies in exchange for their own freedom. Then after the Eurytons 'helped' the Bari—"
"That's it. That's what happened. But we believe that there are other clans that survived. Since the only focus was to annihilate the clan that is in the prophecy..." my brows furrowed as father cut off what Jennifer is trying to say...
"What happened after the Eurytons killed the Tavoras? Are they killed by their allies for their betrayal?" I asked, eyeing on Jennifer.
"That doesn't ma—"
"No, father. I want to know what happened..." Jennifer smiled.
"Of course, the most obvious thing... the Barises killed them..." I gasped at her reply and looked at my father, as if I am asking why do they need to do that.
"What needs to be done should be done. They're a threat to humans. We will never know if they're going to turn the tables by transforming into giants..." he calmly replied while Jennifer, once again, mockingly laughed.
No... why...
"If you aren't aware... oh-so innocent Aaron... Barises are known as traitors in the supernatural realm..."
