Chapter 6 - More Dragons!

"Good Job Jeremy, but next time you fight someone faster than you, you should try to condense the wind to make it faster." I looked over at the road. The carriage seemed to have left but there were trees on the other side of the road. I pointed my finger at a tree and focused my Mana into my finger making sure to think of wind as I did so I released the Mana all at once. The wind seemed to reach subsonic speeds as it made it near the tree it had reached the size of a soccer ball and slammed into the tree breaking straight it. The tree leaned forward and fell down. To think I had to hold back so much to not destroy the forest.

I looked over at Jeremy who was now standing and had crossed his arms.

"Like I'd need advice from you." I guess one dragon was digging his cold attitude because I watched as a dragon flew down next to Jeremy. The Dragon seemed to have his head held high like mine except I could see a smile on his scaly mouth. He stopped in front of Jeremy, waiting for something to happen. Is it really expecting Jeremy to kneel?

"Like I'd kneel to a lizard." The Dragon lifted his leg up, and it didn't take a genius to realize he was going to use Earth Magic. He stomped his feet on the ground and it morphed trapping Jeremy in a solid box of stone. I pointed my finger at the box but the headmaster grabbed my hand.

"He needs to realize that his arrogance is holding him back. The Dragon's serve 2 purposes this is the other one." I was tempted to laugh but I just nodded my head. Air Magic is useless when trying to get out of a confined space since it focuses on hitting a singular object so it wouldn't be able to break his prison. Fire Magic would work since it's fueled with Mana and not Air contrary to popular belief, but Fire Magic wouldn't break the stone, the same thing with Lightning Magic, and even Water Magic.

So he'll have to break through it with Light Magic but he seems to be lacking in that regard. He could use his own Earth Magic or he could use a pulse of Dark Magic to break the Earth since it was shaped with Mana not formed with it. But I'd guess he'd go with Earth Magic, He wouldn't live it done if a "Lizard" beat him in a brawl of Earth Magic.

The Box started slowly retreating into the ground with a superior Mana Pool Jeremy could just keep pumping Mana into the Earth until the Dragon ran out. Despite the fact, Dragons have denser Mana he was way too small. The Dragon ran out of Mana and Jeremy had turned the stone box around him in a cage for the Dragon.

"Not so nice when it happens to you, huh?" The Headmaster sighed at Jeremy's taunting. The Dragon lowered its head, in what I think was an attempt to kneel. Jeremy released it from the cage and it flew onto his head. I guess it liked looking down on others. I realized why Jeremy hadn't used Earth Magic in our fight, he seemed to be visibly drained just by holding back the dragon. I looked at my Dragon which seemed to still be sleeping. Can it use Magic?

"As you can see the Dragons need to see their Master in battle or by just using their intuition. But before we continue sparring as per Dueling rules Remington gets to request something from Jeremy. So what will it be?" Jeremy visibly paled.

"I think I'll save my request for later, I don't currently need anything." The Headmaster smiled as Jeremy started breathing again.

"Ferro, Jade, are you ready to Spar?" They stepped 10 feet away from each other. I could see that Ferro had 2 longswords on her back, befitting of a monster hunter. I dagger wouldn't piece the hide of a Monster so longsword was the way to go. I didn't understand why she had 2 though until… She unsheathed both blades at the same and held them in front of her pointed toward Jade. Was she planning on duel-wielding those swords! They were at least 5 feet long. Jade held both her hand out in front of her.

"3, 2, 1, GO!" Jade raised both her hand up and the Earth in front of her morphed into two giant arms, that seemed to be following her movement. She swung her Stone hands downwards at Ferro who seemed to be grinning. She coated her sword's blades in Fire Magic. A Fire Proof Metal? She destroyed both of the hands, Jade started rebuilding them but Ferro had already broken through and was heading towards Jade. Jade dissolved her Earth Magic and held her hands up. Ferro had to stop so suddenly that she tripped.

I quickly ran over and grabbed her shoulder before she faces planted.

"You might want to watch out there Ms.Galand." She quickly balanced herself. She smiled with her sharp teeth again.

"Please, call me Ferro."

"Will do." I watched as 2 Dragons seemed to be racing each other towards us. The winner landed near Ferro. As it opened it's mouth in what I assumed was a laugh I caught a glimpse at the dragons ridiculously sharp teeth. Ferro picked it up and started examining it. Jade's on the other hand seemed to have disappeared.

"Jade where's your Dragon?" I heard some ruffling as white scales peeked out from Jade's brown hair. We all shared a good laugh. The Headmaster spoke up.

"There are a few things that are going to happen this week. First on Monday parents are coming for a banquet to meet the professors and explore the school. Then Friday is going to be the entrance exam, I'd like you to work together with your fellow professors to plan the entrance exam. Next week Monday is going to be the first day of school so you'll have to prepare your classes. But before that, I'll show you guys around." He handed us a schedule and we all walked into the school.
