"A contract?" Ains stood up slowly while keeping her eyes on Joaquin.
"It's a little piece of paper embedded with some spiritual magic. It will…"
"MAGIC!"
"Yes, magic. Since I am using runes it will be in its purest form which is dangerous for people to take in. If you truly have no ill intent towards me you' will escape unscathed."
Joaquin pulled out a paint brush and a huge sheet of white paper material used in making scrolls and talismen. For about 10 to 20 minutes he sat on the ground writing up different spells on smaller and tearing them up to activate them. When activated the spells will rewrite themselves in a combined state on the bigger sheet. It was an ultimate runic fusion technique developed by Joaquin himself to remedy his lack of magic.
He was finally done drawing up the soul binding contact the basis of which was a succubi's slavery contract. (Minus the pervy stuff.) He cut his own finger and asked Ains to do the same. She did so without showing any sign of hesitation, after all this was the kind of magic she was looking for. Seeing the paper glow with a dark red beam once Joaquin's blood hit it made her wonder how it will react to her blood.
Ains hovered her finger over the sheet without having cut it, and using her ability she was able to make some blood leak from it. A bright and blinding flame roared from the paper, flinging Joaquin across the other side of the room.
"What the hell happened?" Joaquin asked with a voice refusing to come out. 'Did she attack me when I lowered my guard? DAMN IT! Since when have I been this careless, I not only let an unidentified person near me I also let her follow me to this place I was hoping to use to awaken my abilities. DAMN IT! How am I ever going to live this day down…' He thought as he struggled to open his eyes.
"Master, Master, are you okay?" Ains asked once she saw Joaquin's eyes open up. She laid his head on her lap and was gently stroking his hair ever since he passed out, not knowing what else to do since this was the first time she saw somebody collapse.
"You," again Joaquin felt a new emotion brush through his body, he felt stupid even the greatest actor could not fake Ains's innocence. But still, he knew that he had blundered by letting her close without properly investigating her. Joaquin only trusted the Ains bound to him by the mutuality contract. The Ains before this was still under suspicion.
Joaquin turned his head to look around the room, the contract was nowhere to be seen and on Ains's body were the spells. He looked at his own skill, and written in bright gold were the spells, that for some reason made him the superior in what supposed to be a mutual relationship contract. A contract were Ains would be forced to keep Joaquin's secrets for learning this magic she likes so much.
From what Joaquin has been able to gather, it would seem that Ains misunderstood what the contract was for and subconsciously change the details.
"Do you hate me?"
"Why would Ains hate you?"
"I am a bad person. That's what everybody says about me, and once we go back to school. You will probably make new friends and come to realize why everyone hates me, you will keep your distance and discuss me behind my back…"
"Why do people do that to master?"
Joaquin did not want to continue talking about it but his mouth just went on. "60 years ago a person without any mana and aura was born, what was odd about this person was that his binary nature was 14 meaning that he had the best potential of his generation. But he had nothing, frowned on by and cast aside by society this young man dug up history books to discover what was called a bleach. After studying about them he came back and turned the world upside down. 17 years ago he disappeared and I was born, I a child who was exactly like him except for the fact that I am a true bleach, born with a negative binary count, no aura, no mana, just brute strength and intelligence. I've been known as the child of the warmonger or in some instances, the second coming to the devil."
Joaquin looked up to face Ains and she wasn't looking back at him, she was still stroking his hair and listening, a tear from her fell on Joaquin's face and that was all. She hugged him and they stayed like that for a few more minutes until Joaquin returned to his sense and broke off.
'I got too comfortable again. This girl is great at here job, is that her awakened ability, seduction, or some sort of charm skill?' Joaquin thought as he looked at his hands and counted his fingers. 'No, that can't be it, I'm immune to all forms of illusions and mind control for some reason. So it must be training, she has gotten so good at her job it turned her into a vegetable, I must tread carefully from now on.'
In the hallway, the students started to realize that they have been walking around in circles and had now asked those who know runes to look into what was going on. The Idol Prince along with Beipan and Kristen's friend came to discover that this hallway was just a rectangular space seperated from reality, time probably didn't pass here seeing as that they were not feeling the costs of wandering around aimlessly for what seemed like a whole day.
They knew that this means that Joaquin also knew where to go from here which is why they did not find him as they entered. They were right, on normal earth time, Joaquin instantly found the right portal to take. It was because he deeper understanding of the language of magic compared to his peers. It allowed him to connect the dots.
For these guys, they only knew that the portals lead to places with varying climates, so in order to find him, they decided to split up.
