Deja opened his eyes to the sound of a computer reboot. He freaked out a little because he hadn't expected the sudden noise, but then he remembered the time.
'Has it been 3 months already?'
[Hello User]
'Welcome back online [System]! It seems time moves faster in this world than Earth.'
[Correction. Time moves two times slower than the planet Earth]
'Slower?!'
It had seemed the time was actually passing quicker than usual to him, so he had believed a faster day/year calendar because of it. He had been using the universal translator for so long, he had kind of picked up how to use the language of this planet. He decided to try and use the language with his own voice.
"nlæ-nlædz*"
[Skill Unlocked: {Speech}]
'Ooo! That is a new one. I did not even use {Skill Creation} to make that one!'
[Skill {Speech} was created due to users effort to speak. Certain skills can be unlocked via hard work, as that is how everyone else on the realm of Ivamos gains and uses skills]
Deja thought about this. He had remembered that [System] had told him about how his {Skill Creation} was a unique skill, but he had not thought about how others had magic like the teleportation circle in which he had left the doctors home.
'I guess that makes sense. What should we do for now? I'm still a baby, I have no motor skills or control over my body, And I-
[No need. User can walk. Because of slower time, People here age quicker compared to Earth time]
'Oh! So as a three month old, is could be able to walk and talk?'
[Yes]
'Alright! By the way [System], can you call me something other than [User]?'
[Yes. What would you like me to call you?]
And input screen popped up in Deja's field of view.
'Call me Deja'
[Understood. Changing preset from User to Deja]
Deja's mind began to wander. If he could walk, would a three month old be smart enough to open the crib gate?
[Deja is thinking of escaping, correct? If so, System can help]
'I don't want to leave the house, I just want to get out of my crib.'
[Understood. Generating needed skill {Fine Precision}
Notice: Due to {Skill Creation}'s high level, skill {Fine Precision} has evolved.
Generated skill {Heavenly Precision}]
'Whoa!'
Deja's eyes widened. He had known and understood that because of the level of {Skill Creation}, he would get a very powerful skill. But he had not expected the skill to be this amazing.
----------------
*nlædz means Mom or female in the common language of Ivamos
----------------
Deja stood up and walked towards the cribs edge, where he carefully maneuvered the lock, as to not hurt his hands. With a satisfying *klink* and a loud *Thud*, the crib gate fell open. After hearing the thud, Deja realized that his parent's might rush up and check on him. He heard pounding footsteps, and played down before the door slammed open, letting in a panting Emilia.
"Deja, honey, are you okay?"
Deja did not know how to respond. He could, but he would let slip that he knew how to speak like an adult, never mind him being three months old. He turned his head to look at Emilia and gave a big smile. Emilia saw this and smiled back.
"I don't know why I was worried! you must be perfectly fine!"
Deja decided to say his 'First Words' infant of his mother.
"Ma-Ma-Mama"
Emilia gasped. She had not expected that so shortly after being born, her son would be able to speak. She quickly turned around and ran right back out the door to Deja's room.
'Did I scare her off?'
[No. Deja just got Emilia excited]
'How do you know?'
[I am connected to all mortal beings on this realm, however, you are the only one who can speak with me]
'Cool!'
Just then, Deja heard more feat running up the stairs, and saw his mother come bursting back into the room with Deja's father in tow.
"Peter, listen to this! Deja, say mama."
"Mama"
Peter, Emilia's husband and father to Deja, had his eyes widen. He had heard from his wife that Deja spoke, but had believed it to be her hearing things. He definitely had not expected Deja to actually speak to him.
"Emilia, do you know what this means? It means our son is a prodigy!"
"It does?!?"
Deja could not believe his ears. A prodigy! After all this time of trying to conceal his abilities, he might have an excuse to use them at a younger age!
'System. Does being called a prodigy allow me to use spells at a younger age than usual?'
[Yes and no, Deja. The System believes it will allow you to cast higher level spells earlier, but no mortal has ever reached calamity or god-killing class. Anyone found using those classes would be thought of as too powerful for their own good]
'Oh. I was wondering why the level names where so weird. The rest of the ierst had stuff like martial and elemental tier, so I am guessing that has to do with their abilities?'
[Yes]
'Ok'
Deja decided to try and show his parents he could walk. He reached his hand's towards Emilia and grasped at the air.
"You want to go up? Sure!"
Emilia gave Deja a kind smile and picked him up. Deja pointed down and tried to tell his mom what he wanted. He kept pointing down over and over and over until Emilia finally realized and set him down. Deja rolled over onto his hands and knees, then climbed onto his legs, making sure to fake a wobble or two while standing up. he then made himself walk like someone learning to walk towards his mom. Emilia's and Peter's jaws hit the floor.
"He's a true Prodigy!"(Peter)
Deja Had realized that even though babies could walk at the age of three months here, it was odd for them too, and so he decided to do it to prove to his family completely that he was a prodigy, allowing him to learn and move around faster than the other children, removing some of his burden to keep his powers under wraps.
--------------
The entirety of the small town was surrounding the Voss family home, because Peter Voss had run from house to house telling everyone that he had something amazing to show them. Peter walked out carrying Deja.
"Welcome everyone! I just wanted to show you all that my sun is a PRODIGY!!"
He turned to Deja and quietly said "Show them what you are made of" and set Deja down. Deja wobbled a bit as he stood up, and walked back and forth across the stage, sitting down at the opposite edge. The crowd gasped.
"And that's not all he can do. Deja, say Dada."
"Dada"
The crowd went wild. Deja, who had been expecting a gasp, was not expecting all the cheering going on around him, and so his infant instincts woke up from their slumber, and he started crying. Emilia walked over to Deja and picked him up off the ground.
"Shh, Shh, Shh"
Emilia helped Deja calm down, and then brought him back inside, while everyone was still cheering Deja's name, as well as the Voss family name. Content with this reaction and with himself, Deja motioned towards his crib. Emilia brought him to it, and set him down. Tired, Deja closed his eyes and fell into a deep slumber.
