Inside a secluded attic where only some abandoned items, dusty, and dirty walls are inside, Derrick and Luna were facing against each other, crossing their arms.
Oriel was helpless in persuading them to make amends. He can only sit in front of them and distract them the moment they start to fight.
These kids are stubborn to the bones.
The atmosphere became awkward quickly; it was dead silent inside the attic.
When the kids were taking baths in their respective bathrooms, Oriel volunteered himself in front of the hotel owner to clean the attic, and in return, use the attic for a while. Fortunately, the hotel owner isn't sassy, so he easily secured the attic without paying money.
Oriel didn't know what to do anymore with these kids, he sighed. He then demanded the attention of the kids.
"Let's talk about how magic works."
His tone suddenly turned serious. The kids who were minding their world looked at him.
"Mana is present to all players; humans, monsters, plants, and any kind of life forms inside the Virtualis Continent." The surroundings suddenly looked clearer to Derrick, the same could be said to Luna.
"It is also a versatile and omniscient element that stands above all."
"The heavens above blessed us players with mana bodies. Without them, we will never have any ounce of mana in our bodies." The kids gradually saw Oriel's figure turns blueish.
It felt like Oriel's mana is moving along with his speech. His words became pictures in the kids' eyes, making them understand the world of magic better.
"Our mana bodies absorb, filter, mold, mana inside our body, and release it externally."
"How that works is our mana bodies instinctively absorb elements around us slowly; it can be air, fire, water, earth, anything that is matter."
"The absorbed elements will get filtered inside our body and become mana."
"Mana is the only element that stands above the rest. There are no elements that can stand or rival the usefulness of mana."
"It is the only element we can control at will, thanks to the gods above."
"You use mana to move, transport, and even change matter as you wish."
"When you release mana outside your body, you can materialize any forms of matter in just a thought, and whatever your mana materializes gets released, it becomes... magic."
Oriel opened his hand. Then the two kids focused their attention on it.
His hand rapidly materialized an orb of water. He shook and moved the water inside the orb, making the water inside look like a water tornado.
The kids can only stare at Oriel's magic in amazement, their eyes are wide and their mouths hung open.
Oriel calmly looked at the silly expressions of the kids and continued.
"As you can see, I made my mana turn into an orb of water. I can move this orb away from my hand, and I can also release it."
He released the orb of water. The water didn't explode nor react violently, but it fell and splashed on the ground like someone spilled a cup of water on the floor.
"I also mentioned that you can change matter as I wish in any form."
"You guys know what matter is right? It is any physical form that occupies mass. A simple example of what I have shown earlier is; water."
He materialized another orb of water; the kids looked closely at it, the orb of water in his hand gradually changed into a blazing fire. The kids felt the sudden rise of temperature as they didn't dare go near Oriel.
Before the two of them get sweaty, Oriel willed the fire to earth, rocky and solid earth, instantly dropping the already high temperature.
Finally, Oriel changed the earth into an orb of air. The same air that can't be seen in the naked eye.
What they can see in his hand is a faint, spherical outline. It looks like nothing changed if they didn't see this faint outline The kids also saw this, but they were confused.
"This is air magic?" Derrick wondered aloud, both of them thought of the same question but only Derrick has the guts to talk loudly and interrupt Oriel's tutorial.
Oriel smiled hearing Derrick's remark and corrected.
"Nope."
"This is wind magic."
The orb of air suddenly moved clockwise, sucking the surrounding wind, and became a tornado. The tornado kept expanding until it reached the roof of the attic.
Then it sucked every dust, and webs found inside. The abandoned pieces of furniture were also shaking.
Before it could get any worse, Oriel willed the tornado to disintegrate and it vanished. The papers in the air slowly fell from the ceiling and the kids' expression look very hilarious.
"The two elements you will practice from now on are wind and water magic."
"Wind magic is the easiest element to learn, but it is also the hardest element to master."
"Water magic specializes in defense, it can slow and stop the attacks of your enemy, we can conveniently use it as offensive magic especially towards fire magic players."
The two kids nodded, seemingly understanding everything that Oriel had said. In reality, their brain already stopped working the moment they marveled at the magic show earlier. Their ears stopped processing Oriel's words.
Of course, Oriel didn't know this and continued talking.
"The problem of using magic is you cannot breathe and use magic at the same time. It is also the same feeling with how you cannot breathe while eating or drinking."
The two kids blinked their eyes and looked around. Oriel who was looking at their expressions laughed and materialized two cups of orange juice in front of the kids.
"Here, have some."
It shocked the kids that Oriel is materializing a juice out of nowhere! Before they could even say anything, he covered his mouth with a finger and hushed.
"Don't tell anyone, okay? Let's keep it as our little secret."
More than half of Oriel's mana pool is gone. He spent half of his used mana to transmit images to the kids, making them understand his lecture easier.
For the other half of his used mana, he also materialized two cups of orange juice to let the kids satisfy their curiosity.
It would take him days to recover his mana normally.
The two of them nodded swiftly as they took the cup of orange juice.
Derrick thought for some time and tried to drink while breathing. He really tried hard.
He choked on his orange juice and spilled it on the floor. Luna was laughing hard at Derrick's hilarious figure. His shirt is wet, and he even wet the floor.
It turns out what Oriel said is true. He would never doubt his uncle from now on, or else he would be humiliated in front of Luna.
As kids, they still like to maintain a good "reputation."
Oriel smiled at the sight of Derrick and glanced at Luna. He is guessing if his daughter would fall for the trick after seeing it once.
Luna took the glass of juice after a moment of hesitation, thought for a moment, and drank it.
Yes, she drank it all.
'My daughter's a clever kid.' Oriel smiled happily because Luna learned a lesson. He felt like Luna is becoming more and more independent... she is getting smarter each passing day... she will bring her husband home in the future...
Somehow his thoughts wandered outside the universe.
After drinking, Luna gleefully placed the glass near Oriel and pleaded.
"Can you still make more, papa?"
Oriel's eye twitched from her request. 'The orange juice is already complicated to make and now you want to milk me dry? Are you taking me as a juice machine?'
