Chapter 10 - Local Weapon Shop

Angelica hugged Derrick for a while. She fondled his hair and comforted him.

She was the only one who volunteered from the abrupt mission from the Headmaster. Angelica was just curious why he would do such something out of character just to welcome an adult and two kids.

Even now, she didn't get to know the reason why their identities are sensitive. The three of them talk and behave like normal kids, while the uncle is chill and easy-going.

They are unlike spoiled kids of aristocrat families commonly found in her school.

To be honest, her initial impression of people with sensitive identities is all overbearing and arrogant; but looking at them, she knew her beliefs were nothing but biased against them. There are still honorable people in power, indeed.

They are friendly, and it wouldn't hurt for her to befriend them.

She is also looking forward to meeting these people again.

"Everything is all right, Derrick. You will find your goals eventually." She felt sympathetic to Derrick's plight. She understood it too well.

She was once like him, a girl who didn't have any wishes but to live normally. It was all until she encountered an incident that scarred her for life.

Because of this incident, she always self-reflected and blamed herself, for she was too powerless to stop the murderer.

The crowd gradually dispersed from the scene.

"Be strong, okay? Always remember to protect your loved ones when you grow up." Angelica asked with a concerned look on her face.

"Mhmm." Derrick slowly nodded. He finally recovered from his sorrow.

Derrick broke free from Angelica's embrace and stood up. Luna also stood up and ran over to him. She asked. "Are you okay now, Derrick?"

"Yeah, I'm fine" He showed his brightest smile to Luna, making Oriel, who was now behind her, sigh in relief.

"That's great!" Luna gleefully rejoiced as Derrick recovered and turned to Angelica. "Thanks to big sis for comforting Derrick."

Angelica shook her head and replied. "No, I should apologize for asking a sensitive question."

Oriel, who was watching the scene, nodded his head. 'This girl knows when to apologize, although she tested them under that person's instruction.'

The kids who knew nothing stopped Angelica from apologizing to them.

"No big sis, everything is fine now." Derrick was the one who talked. He is trying to cheer himself up.

Since there is nothing left for her to do now, Angelica sighed in relief and straightened herself up, and glanced at Oriel.

Oriel concluded everything as he closed the evaluation.

"Since all is well, we must bid farewell to Ms. Cynthia, okay?"

The two kids nodded and turned their heads to Angelica and saw her off.

"Goodbye, big sis Cynthia!"

"Thank you for your understanding, Mr. Oriel. Goodbye, Luna and Derrick!"

They all waved at each other as they saw Angelica leave their view.

After seeing her off, Oriel clapped his hands and asked. "Do you want to enroll in the Ashburn Academy of Magic?"

The duo, Derrick and Luna, nodded their heads and replied. "Yes!"

Oriel asked another question. "Do you know the requirements for enrolling in the best school in Viridian City?"

The kids, who understood everything Angelica clarified and nodded. "Yes!"

Oriel had already set the hearts of the kids on fire. "Are you discouraged from hearing the strict requirements?"

Both of the kids shouted with their loudest voice. "No!"

The busy crowd stopped and looked over the loud commotion. They annoyed some bystanders, and those people complained. Oriel immediately apologized for disturbing the lively streets.

After the scene, Oriel made a thumbs up and rejoiced. "That's the spirit I'm talking about!"

The three of them laughed together, Oriel finally succeeded from livening the atmosphere. He will never make the kids visit schools with him today, or else the same thing will happen again.

He thought for the second destination they would be going and decided. "This time, we will go to the nearest weapon shop and select the weapon you like the most!"

The duo understood nothing as they let Oriel decide for them.

So the three musketeers went to the nearest weapon shop they could find, and they found the store named 'Local Weapon Shop.' Yes, the owner really named their store like that.

Oriel led the kids as he opened the door. The owner greeted him the moment they stepped inside the shop.

"Welcome to the Local Weapon Shop, how may I help you?"

What greeted their eyes are tempered glass displays and weapons inside of it. There are also display weapons stuck around the walls, high enough that even a 5'5 cannot touch the tip of the blades.

The store owner is a blacksmith, no doubt. A masculine and burly man, who is in their 30s. He has a scar on his face and a very serious look.

Oriel calmly looked around the shop and asked. "Are there any wooden weapons for these kids?"

The owner scoffed. "What do you think this store is, a toy store?"

Oriel smiled at his haughty attitude.

"1 gold coin."

The owner's expression became twisted as he forced to calm himself down. "We have varieties of wooden swords, long swords, spears, daggers, and bows. Which one do you like, dear sir?"

"I'd like to see your stash." Oriel felt goosebumps hearing the word "dear sir" and also forced himself to calm down. His eyes were twitching and forced a smile.

"This way, sir." The owner didn't dare to offend the other party further.

The kids, who heard their arguments, tried to contain their laughter. They simply laughed because it was funny watching their reactions.
