"Derrick!"
The shout of his mother reached his ears. Derrick opened his eyes and immediately sat on the grass, looking at the two figures.
Eleanor and Luna were running towards him. His mother is the only one who looks anxious about him while Luna is waving her hand to Derrick with a smile on her face.
The duo gradually went closer to Derrick until they reached him.
Luna was the only one catching her breath and immediately lied on the green grass in exhaustion.
Eleanor doesn't look or even feel tired. As a caring mother, she was nothing but full of worry in front of her injured child. She worriedly asked her child.
"Where are you injured at? Let me take a look."
She took the scarf on his knee and glanced on the wound. She finally heaved a sigh of relief.
"Good thing your injuries aren't that serious," Eleanor remarked as she turned her head to Luna. "I thought his injuries were moderate."
"Hehe..." Luna lightly scratched the side of her face in resignation.
It looks like Luna hasn't told Derrick's mother how Derrick's injuries were when she came.
She most likely said that Derrick is hurt, not specifying anything.
In reality, if she sent Derrick home, his mother would immediately tell what sort of condition he has, and take measures. Derrick can still walk properly even in that state, all because his injuries were minor.
Alas, Luna's mind was in shambles and made the wrong decision. She acted without thinking.
She is truly a happy-go-lucky kid.
Eleanor connected the dots and immediately knew Luna just wanted her to come here for unknown reasons. Trying to guess what her son may have done earlier, she sighed.
"Since we are at it, let me heal him quickly."
Eleanor's right index finger moved at the top of his injury. Her state shifted to calmness as she breathed slowly.
She guided her mana to her right index finger as it materialized something liquid.
It externally looks just like pure water, but on the inside, its properties were not the same.
This liquid dripped and fell on Derrick's injury. Derrick didn't struggle on this foreign liquid however, he let it drip on his injury.
With Derrick's clumsiness, he would get injured easily, and would frequently go to his mother to heal his injuries.
The liquid she materialized touched his wound. For a split second, he felt a stinging sensation, but before he could do anything, a very refreshing feeling spread towards his knee, into his body.
In real-world terms, the liquid Eleanor materialized resembles alcohol greatly, but there are differences.
Using an alcohol solution directly to your wound would instantly kill the bacteria, but it can also damage your tissues, therefore delaying the recovery of your injury.
Instead, what Eleanor materialized was a liquid solely focused on killing foreign bacteria in Derrick's wounds. Therefore, they will never damage the tissues inside Derrick's body.
Seeing that she already cleaned the wound on his knee, she calmly informed.
"Let's patch the wounds on your knee now."
Eleanor's index finger made contact with Derrick's wound. Mana is gathered to her finger as she materialized skin cells into his wound.
The whole process of the closing of the wound can be seen in the naked eye. It looks very spectacular, in fact.
Although Derrick witnessed this procedure many times, he was still in awe of how magic is very versatile, magic can easily materialize from one form to another.
One of his dreams that are hidden in the depths of his heart is to become as formidable as his father and mother.
The only one who is rapidly closing the gap between his parents is Oliver, who studied at the best university, while Derrick can't even see himself fulfilling his goals.
He was a little envious that his brother is super talented, he also wants to be as talented as his brother and be his equal.
There is only one month away before his Awakening Ceremony. He wants to see if everything he studied will be worth it in his journey.
While lost in thoughts, the wound in the knee already recovered fully and his mother glanced at Derrick and gently convinced the two of them.
"Come on, we will come back and catch butterflies next time. I have something important to tell the two of you after you guys eat breakfast."
Derrick's thoughts recovered and immediately looked at Luna. She blinked with a smile as the two turned their heads to Eleanor, nodding. "Okay."
All of them stood up and went back into Derrick's residence slowly.
Inside the residence, Derrick and Luna were helping Eleanor cook breakfast. Although this is their luxurious residence, Eleanor didn't feel a need to hire any servants and asked only the kids to help her with the chores.
The three of them chatted with each other happily as they gleefully ate their breakfast.
"Let's wait a bit for your father to arrive, Luna, I hope he will not arrive in the afternoon."
When the old pendulum clock found in the living room reached 8 a.m., a doorbell sounded on the door.
Hearing this, she knew Luna's father had finally come and opened the door.
"Good morning, Mr. Oriel. You finally came in time." Eleanor's tone suddenly turned deep as her eyes were gazing as if questioning him.
He returned the laughed as he returned the greeting. "Hahaha. It's better that I am not late now, isn't it?"
Oriel looks like a man who is past his prime, not to mention chubby. He always wears a smile on his face, looking like every uncle's expression when they won a lottery.
Enough of the jokes, he and Leo are long-time best friends. When it comes to Leo's wife, he would naturally be polite to her.
"Yes, finally better because I will make sure to tell my husband about this 'milestone' you achieved."
Oriel was the epitome of laziness. He will always arrive late on schedule or would sometimes not arrive at all.
He will make thousands of excuses why he is late, and that's why Eleanor is always annoyed from the sight of Oriel.
Thankfully, his laziness was slowly changed when he got married, but not everything of his laziness is dispelled. He will always be late even in meetings, and surprisingly, this is the first time he finally came just on time.
Oriel's eyes twitched as he laughed weakly.
"Don't kid with me, Eleanor. We are still friends, right? Please never tell Leo about this." Oriel used the friendship card over to Eleanor, hoping for her to pity him.
Just imagining Leo teasing him for months about being a "changed" man-made his body shiver.
Eleanor was about to ruthlessly roast him further until Luna appeared in her view. She instantly stopped what she was going to do and ignored Oriel's plea.
"Papa!" Luna's voice came and immediately went over to her father and hugged him.
"Luna, my savior, you came and saved me from the depths of hell!" Oriel cried and wiped his non-existent tears. He also hugged Luna as he asked. "Did you miss your daddy?"
"Yea!" Luna cutely nodded.
Derrick also came, he was behind Luna earlier so he was the last to come into the scene; he is now positioned at the side of her mother as he politely greeted. "Uncle, good morning."
"Good morning, kid." Oriel smiled as he looked at him.
Since the first time he met Derrick, he had nothing but good intentions for this kid. He is a reliable and trusted person you can count for.
He wouldn't mind matching him with Luna, but thinking of his wife's impossible requirements for their daughter's future husband, he slowly retreated this thought of his.
Seeing that everyone has introduced each other, Eleanor then cut on the chase and directly proposed.
"Everyone, let's continue talking inside the lounge. We will talk about something important."
"Sure, let's go." Everyone in the house agreed.
