Tessa couldn't see the road in front of her as she walked along an unfamiliar road. As her vision continued to blurred, she could think of only one thing: survive. She could not think of the events that led her to that road, or even how she ended up there. With no street signs and a street light every so often, Tessa didn't know whether she made it to oblivion or if she was now the lone survivor of her family.
Afraid that she might be seen, Tessa stayed to the side of the road, creeping through the grass shoulder and keeping close to the tree line. It is one thing to be terrified, but to not know what or who you're even terrified of? That's a whole new story.
Had she not have snuck out to the woods that night would she be alive now? Would she have been able to get away or would she wind up another front page story in the newspaper along with her family? She has known for a long time that her family had aquired enemies, but to anger someone to the point that they destroy the foundation of another family's life? That they take the lives of people who were loved and cherished?
Her family were not saints by any means. Her father worked hard to work his way to the top if his company to provide a good life for his family. What has he done along the way to get his whole family murdered? What kind of people did he step on to get the where he was now? As Tessa's thoughts started to swirl, she came upon the first house she has seen since she crashed through the tree line on this road. All she could see what a porch light and a vehicle parked at the top of the long driveway.
She stood frozen for a few minutes debating whether she could trust the people inside enough to ask for help, or if she should keep walking? Just as she was about to turn and continue on her journey she felt a metal cylinder press against her back.
As shestood paralulyzed she heard an unfamiliar voice say "Seems that we have a visitor tonight, come on in and say hi to the family."
