Jacquard examined his condition and realized that despite dying and falling out the sky, he felt great! But that was only when you didn't count the fact that he was no longer human. But, Jacquard thought, even as this creature that I am I still feel like I'm on top of the world! Jacquard had had a long history of being delusional. While in truth he was well physically, mentally he wasn't doing so well.
Jacquard had been a shut-in orphan in his past life. And while he didn't mind the lack of human contact, it had affected him in a way no amount of lack of exercise and poor hygiene could, it had made him socially awkward. But luckily for him, Jacquard was well known to be good with beasts and animals of any kind, which thankfully for him was the kind of living things he would be dealing with for the next, God knows, how many days.
Jacquard couldn't see, but he didn't need to. The glowing box before him told him all that he needed (and wanted) to know.

Jacquard smiled. He had seen such things before. He had read about such things in novels and had seen such information even in the game he had been playing before he died. A lot of his friends weren't into it as it wasn't a 3D game, but he didn't care. He saw the appeal in the game and it was paying off. There was just a slight problem. The game didn't have you start blind with nothing but human-level-intelligence, slightly-above-human creativity and a shit ton of luck, but eh, he wasn't complaining.
Jacquard usually knew how to start but now he was stumped. He played around with the box for a while, only to come back with nothing to show for the time spent. So, he gave up at least until he saw some changes happen to it. Well to be more specific a change to the luck stat caught his attention. It showed him something along the lines of:
[3r!^0r: Err*&2]
Jacquard raised an imaginary eyebrow to this before the entire box was replaced by a smaller one. That one read:
[Error 466: Incompatibility issues]
It was soon replaced by another box that claimed to have rectified the issue, after which a new dialogue box appeared before him with the word charisma instead of luck. Only for the process to repeat again showcasing error where charisma was supposed to be, displaying the error 466 message and changing the charisma into beast likeability. After all that he saw a message prompt appear before him.
[Incompatibility issues rectified]
Jacquard would have smiled had he had a mouth to twist into the smiling shape. While he didn't understand why the luck had changed to charisma, he could tell you without batting an eye why it had changed from charisma to beast likeability.
With that change having been made Jacquard heard no more from the system. It had left him again in the darkness with nothing but the dialogue box floating before him. He spent some more time studying the dialogue box before he finally gave up on finding a way to get out of this situation. He wasn't going to kill himself over something that he could not change. At least that what he thought at first, before he saw the second dialogue box show up in front of him.

Blood Bond initiated
Would host like to accept?
Accepting might trigger a random evolution.
Accept?
[Yes] [No]

Jacquard didn't even think twice about his next decision. He picked yes and waited with surety for the system to send him a message informing him of his random evolution. It didn't come. At least at first. Jacquard was sure that if it hadn't come, he would have broken down completely. But he didn't have to because it came.
[Random evolution triggered]
[Host has evolved from a Strangely Creative Stone to a Perceptively Creative Stone]
[Perception +1]
And with those few words Jacquard became the happiest Perceptively Creative Stone alive. He also became one of the few Perceptively Creative Stones in existence but Jacquard didn't like to spend time dwelling on that. Instead he chose to examine the environment around him, which despite Jacquard's human level perception, wasn't much. But it was enough for him.
He felt something short, fuzzy, and soft underneath him and he assumed that it was the grass beneath his body. He felt a hot breeze blow across his body and thought it was the wonderfully warm breeze of summer. He rolled about and believed that it was the mistaken kick of the unknowing creature that was passing by.
'Ah,' he thought, 'Isn't it good to be out in the wild?'
It wasn't until he felt the claws that he realized that maybe, just maybe, he was not out in the wild. But, Jacquard, ever the optimist thought to himself that maybe not being in the wild wasn't so bad.
'The wild?' A second voice called out in his head scaring he poor Jacquard shitless, 'What is that?'
It was exactly at that moment that Jacquard received a message in the form of a dialogue box appearing before his eyes.
