Elder Kapha didn't mean to offend the didn't mean to offend the demon in the stone. But in his opinion, it wasn't his fault that he had attacked, the demon had been asking for it when it refused to answer their questions. His temper had just gotten slightly out of hand and he had acted on it. And besides, his attack had backfired and he had received the full force of his attack, so the council had no right to take away his eldership. But of course, that was all in his head, he would never transmit such thoughts to the other council members unless he was prepared to lose his eldership.
But he just couldn't let this slide. \\" Elders," \\ he transmitted to the other members of the council mentally, \\" The attack wasn't too serious. While the barrier was enough to reflect my attack, it wasn't very strong. If all us yemerey attack him with a mental attack we would be able to overcome him." //
\\" And why should we believe what you say Elder Kapha?" \\ Another yemerey, Elder Tarisi, questioned. \\" It is a well-known fact that you are not on good terms with all the yemerey elders. It is also a well-known fact that a lot of the advice or plans that you put into play don't work out. Looking at all this if it wasn't for the fact that your mental power is strong, we would have long since kicked you out of the council." \\
Elder Kapha sighed. \\" If you don't believe me, you can use your mental energy to scan me for injuries." \\ Immediately he felt an energy burrow its way into his body, surrounding each and everyone of his organs before finally retreating. \\" Do you believe me when I say the attack I used on him wasn't a strong one? I was merely sent out a small attack to probe it." \\
\\" Then why did you scream like a child?" \\ Elder Tarisi asked.
\\" To make the demon lower his defenses. If he thinks that that was my strongest attack. He wouldn't expect a something any stronger than that and only prepare defenses to protect himself from that same level of attack." \\
The other yemerey considered what was being said. If Elder Kapha was right they could destroy the demon before it had time to strike back, if he was wrong, they wouldn't have enough time to regret their decision.
For a while there was only silence from the other members of the council, but finally they reluctantly agreed. They timed their attack, an extremely concentrated mental attack, that would have been able to decimate any small yemeru village was directed at a small yemephu, who was none the wiser, and a stone that was not what peopled assumed it was.
The attack hit them head on, the ground below them depressed, wind flying at speeds faster than the average f5 hurricane. The full force of the yemerey's mental attack would have crushed any other yemephu that had been on the receiving end of the attack, Jean on the other hand just felt like he was hit by a very, very, very, very big club and just passed out.
Jacquard was worse off. All the energy he had in his body was used up in order to protect them from the attack and he soon experienced what it felt like if he completely used all his akram. Despite the fact that he didn't believe it was possible, he could feel himself losing consciousness and soon he blacked out.
Jacquard was dumbfounded. He was completely fine, save for the fact that he couldn't see anything, which was weird enough in itself. Even weirder was the fact that despite having 'lost consciousness', he could perform just fine, even doing a few cycles of cultivation just to test. On another note he no longer faced the problem of mixing the energies in his body. While he was happy that he didn't have to face that problem anymore, but he wasn't happy that he hadn't figured out a way out. How would he pass on The Almighty Akram cultivation technique if there was such a glaringly obvious problem with it?
He sighed inwardly and began to cultivate. There was nothing else that he could do in such a case. Cultivation was the only way to stave off the boredom, to prevent him from going mad, insane and lose focus of what was important.
Jacquard paused for a moment.
What exactly was important to him? What did he hold dear to himself that he would do anything to protect? He thought about it for a while and sighed. He probably liked Jean. Or at least liked their interactions. He paused again. Did he really like their interaction or just interaction in general? He thought about his short interaction with whatever it was that had tried to attack him and agreed it was a generally bad interaction.
Slowly, over an indiscernible amount of time, he regained his vision, as grainy as it was. As more time passed his scope of vision grew larger and larger, until it once again encompassed most of Jean's figure. Jean hung awkwardly with his hands facing backwards and his chest and head leaned forward. He was asleep again, much to Jacquard's dismay, but there wasn't much he could do. So, he continued to cultivate.
Time flowed like water and slowly his sphere of vision increased until he was able to see the entirety of the room. Thick metal chains wrapped around Jean's arms, shackling him to the wall behind them, His feet were equally chained. As Jacquard saw this, he was left with a bitter taste in his mouth, a taste he would be unable to wipe out for a long while.
