Jacquard was quite happy with the progress he had made. He had pushed his energy sensing abilities to the limit he could achieve within the time he had available and he was happy with it. He had grown the range of his energy sensing abilities from 2 cm to over 2 meter and could also distinguish, although fuzzily, shapes and figures a meter outside of the zone.
He had discovered that Jean wasn't human. He was shocked, but didn't feel the need to confront him about it, after all he had been ignoring him for a long time. Jacquard claimed he wasn't hurt by it, after all it wasn't like he knew when Jean was awake and when he was asleep, so he stopped paying attention to Jean and focused his full attention on what he termed fondly as 'cultivation'.
He poured all his attention into cultivation and finally gained the ability to manipulate the energy around him, and even the one in his body was under his control. Not full control, but under his control nonetheless. And thus, he claimed to have passed the first realm of what he assumed was the first cultivation method.
He called the cultivation method The Mighty Cultivation Method for the Mighty All-Encompassing Akram, which he later shortened to Almighty Akram. Akram was what he decided to call the energy, a random word that had popped in his head that he though fit with the energy so he called it that.
He was currently in what he called the Akram Oheno stage, and should be called an Ohenosi. Although he was still what he considered an early stage cultivator he had still surmounted the two major problems that he assumed the others that follow after him would face-learning to sensing the energy and learning to control the energy-he was at least better than those he called the greenhorns, those who were still at the first stage and couldn't even sense the energy.
Jacquard was in what he considered the third stage of the cultivation method and was about to step into the fourth stage-what he would consider to be the fourth stage-which involved going through the first round of cultivation. He wanted to contact Jean and tell him about all the things he had created and done. But when he went to check on Jean, he saw him laying on the floor doing what he presumed was sleeping. He could only sigh and return to what he was doing.
He soon got down to creating the actual cultivation method of the Almighty Akram. Using what he knew about his body (which was that at certain places in his body there were filters that could remove certain impurities from the energy he was absorbing into his body) he created the first step of the cultivation. He also made a mental note to himself to also examine Jean's body also.
The first step (which after little consideration Jacquard made the sign of successfully entering the fifth stage) involved absorbing the akram in the atmosphere and using it to explore every part of the body, in order to discover where the major filters lay in the body.
Jacquard had to repeat this process multiple times (he counted 30) before he was certain that he had discovered all the major filters in his body. With that he had crossed into the supposed fifth realm. Jacquard soon began to wonder what all the fuss was about with those cultivators from the stories he had read on earth, why did they advance so slowly? When he that started in what he assumed was a few days ago and he had already achieved the fifth realm of cultivation.
Jacquard checked if Jean was finally awake, so they could talk again. He saw Jean wake up but the moment he wanted to talk to him, Jean fell back to sleep. This annoyed Jacquard to no end and in order to soother his anger and annoyance Jacquard threw himself into working on his cultivation method.
Jacquard had discovered a total of 15 filters (which he now began to call jems) and he soon devised a method for doing what he termed cultivating (but was really a way to get away from Jean). Now that he knew where his jems where he just had to run the energy he absorbed through the jems in order to gain maximum purity. While he could have just ran the energy through the jems once and be done with it, he claimed that in order to have maximum energy purity he had to run it through the jem multiple times.
After a while he came to what he thought was a reasonable number and not just an excuse to make Jean feel a little bit of his own medicine. He did 100 runs through his jems and called that a cycle (he chose a hundred mostly because a 1000 was too much and 50 was too small). The effects were as he had expected, he obtained the second purest energy he had ever sensed.
But then a problem arose, and not just one that he had conjured up. As he placed the energy into his zebenisu (which was the name he gave the area where he stored energy) the energy which had already been stored there reacted violently with the pure energy that was inserted and Jacquard felt like dying.
His insides felt like they were going through a meat grinder while being slowly dipped in acid and the pain almost made him pass out. Immediately he stopped pouring energy into his zebenisu and although he was still in pain it wasn't as much as before. He tried to remove the akram stored in his zebenisu by taking it back through the same way it came, only to realise that that the jems do not allow energy to flow out of his body.
Confused Jacquard tried a lot of things in order to make them reach the same level of purity or mix together only to end up with nothing to show for it or in immense pain. Only after he had exhausted all his option did he realise what the cultivators in the stories back on earth were talking about.
He had hit a bottleneck.
