It appeared as if the powerful creature did not feel the ebony greatsword pierce his chest because he was strolling through the sword.
Is it walking through my blade? Delphine thought. She saw the blood coming out of his back, but he kept moving forward to kill her where she stood.
Delphine immediately kicks the demon back, and she pulls the sword out of his chest and continued to point the blade at his body. This mighty beast must have been created by some sorcerer who gave him eternal power over all weapons and humans. Delphine was now confident that she was trapped and had nowhere else to go instead of meet her unexpected end.
"Fool! No matter where you slice, you'll never hit my weak spot. And don't think you'll get another shot!" The creature shouted.
"Delphine!" Simon shouted.
"Stay back, Simon!" She shouted.
"Delphine, get out of there!" He shouted. But, she stood there and began to be full of anger, and her rage began to boil as she stared at the demon.
Suddenly, Delphine closes her eyes and started to feel the scar on her shoulder have blood dripping from her body. It was at this moment that her eye color began to be red, and she now had vertical slit pupils. Her muscles began to have her veins appear on her body and face; her body was overreacting to the fact that her scar revealed her real power. She then pierced the beast again on his chest and started to think of a solution that will ultimately kill her enemy. Then, Delphine tilts the blade vertically to make sure the edges of the sword face the top of the demon's body.
There was absolutely nothing the powerful creature could do as he stood before the ebony knight with her sword in his gullet.
Is his head the weak spot? Delphine thought. She was already filled with too much anger and rage to the point where she might as well kill every person in the burial room.
Delphine lifts her greatsword and quickly slide the blade up to the top of the demon's head. And so, Delphine slices the mighty creature in half and watched as the rest of his blood and gore splatters onto the walls, the ground, and her sword. She has done what no human could ever do in the city of Gisbourne; she killed a beast that was said never to be killed by the common folk. Simon watches as the demon is no longer moving and never breathing because it was already dead. He strolled towards Delphine to see if she could thank him for helping him out with the mighty beast.
Then, Harry and Sid knock down the door of the burial room and saw the mighty demon killed by the ebony knight. They were speechless at the scene and stood still at the disgusting image seen in a holy place. But, this was not a sacred place for a long time simply because the demon lived to disrupt the peace and kill anyone visible to him. Harry and Sid walk inside the room to see how many things were destroyed and how much blood and gore were covering the walls and floor. Delphine could not speak a word to anyone, and she still stared at the creature; she just brutally killed to protect the citizens of Gisbourne.
Harry and Sid were mostly surprised at the end when the battle was over, and the powerful creature is dead.
"Delphine, you did it. The battle is over!" Simon said. Then, he turns around and saw the two knights walk towards him and Delphine to do more than just congratulate them.
Instead of being jealous, they were impressed and satisfied that two people had to go and risk their lives to kill the beast.
"Color me impressed. They did it. That demon hunter sure is something," Sid said.
"What are you two doing here? As you can see, we've already killed the monster for you guys. So, why don't you just go bother someone else!" Simon said. As they were speaking amongst each other, Delphine could feel herself trembling and not being able to turn back to her usual self.
She was already losing a lot of blood, and her heart and soul were filled with hatred and rage against all the night creatures. Delphine was a tortured person who would never find peace even after she finds the people who turned her into something beyond human. She looked at her hands and noticed blood being on her handle and hands as she tried to turn back to her plain self.
I've lost too much blood. Delphine thought. She then started to feel her blood pumping again, and her soul crying out in a state of rage and anger.
Then, she wrapped her arms around her shoulders and tried very desperately to prevent herself from becoming a night creature. The pain was too much to handle, and the feeling was intensely horrifying to witness.
"Delphine! Delphine, are you okay! Are you hurt!?" Simon shouted. Harry and Sid also began to see something wrong with how the ebony knight was feeling, and they could not comprehend her feelings.
"What's wrong? Is she alright?" Sid asked.
"Delphine, is everything alright?" Simon asked. She turns around and stares at Simon with all of her demonic eyes opened and making him witness everything.
Her anger and fury were way too much to handle and far too demented to find anything redeeming about her nature.
"Delphine!" Simon shouted. He slowly takes a few steps back after seeing her demonic appearance, and his eyes could not turn away from her.
Sid was stunned by all of it, but Harry knew he had to kill her before her powers act on its own. Delphine could not stop the overflowing amount of demonic possession exiting out of her soul.
Damn! I shouldn't have used so much demon power in my condition. Now I can't stop the flow. She thought. She felt her head and felt nothing but pain and agony after fighting the creature and winning the battle.
Then, she falls on her knees and sees her hands clutching onto the floor; she witnessed the pain appearing on her arms. Her screams went from being a horrified girl scream to a demonic growl after being stabbed in the back. She feels her teeth starting to grow fangs, and her fingernails increasing rapidly, and she still could not stop the cycle.
It's no good. I can't turn back. Delphine thought.
"Delphine?" Simon asked.
"Stay back!" Delphine shouted. Then, she picks up her greatsword and holds onto it as she continued to look down at herself and wonder what she is becoming.
She then pierces the sword on the floor with her hands on the handle and unable to go anywhere. Then, Delphine looks at Simon for a long while as she finds it impossible to turn back to her regular stature.
"Hey, wait a minute. What's going on with you? What do you think you're doing!?" Simon shouted.
"You've already seen me in this appearance. It appears I've left too much to be explained. Too many sacrifices to ever come back from," Delphine said.
"What are you talking about? None of this makes any sense," he said.
"I appear as a human and seem like a common lady. But, there is terrible darkness inside of me."
"I can help you, Delphine. You don't have to do this!"
"There is no saving me!"
As she said this, Harry and Sid had their hands on the handle of their swords, and they were hesitant on whether or not they should kill her.
"What do you mean? What are you saying, Delphine?" Simon asked.
"There is much about me that I will not have you know," she answered. Then, she got herself up from the ground and had her sword pierced on the floor; she did not think about picking the sword back up for a brief moment.
She stood before Simon, Harry, and Sid as they were all being confused and terrified at how she appeared before them. Her eyes were still unholy and demonic, and they were not black like they used to be. None of them knew what will happen next because Delphine was always a person taking unexpected turns. Her power already had a mind on its own, and she could not escape it as the night continued.
"What?" Delphine asked. She tried controlling her arm, but it was too strong to resist the darkness within her body.
She could not ask Simon to help her because even though he is a keen hunter, he is too weak to pull her out from the dark embrace. Then, she held out her hands and strolled towards her friend; her emotions were getting out of control.
"Delphine, please," Simon said. She was breathing very heavily and could feel her heartbeat increase to the point where it was the only thing she could ever hear.
