Chapter 9 - Chapter 8

Hyena was taking off her shirt and pants when she heard the doorknob clicked from the bathroom, inside the room. "What the heck? I forgot to check this bathroom before changing.'' She ought to cover herself with a blanket but she was way too late. In front of her, there stood Dale half naked. He's fresh from the shower, for droplets of water were dropping off from his hair as it ran down his strong built chest and abs. "Freak! Turn around." Hyena shouted at him, quickly covering herself with a blanket. "Tss, I have no intentions of doing some fantasy with a stupid girl like you." He coldly uttered.

Hurriedly, Hyena wore an over sized T-shirt and shorts without putting in mind that Dale is with her. After changing, she unlocked the door and went out, shutting it harshly. "That was embarrassing." She ran towards the seashore, where people are enjoying their time, swimming. "Every meeting of us is utterly embarrassing. Maybe, I should just distance myself from him to avoid risk taking events." Slowly, she embraced the beauty of the beach. "This beach is so neat. The corals underneath the sea are clearly visible and the rock formations are so amazing. It is good for diving." Hyena smiled at herself complimenting the view she's seeing.

"Might I join you?" Lan said walking by her side slowly. "Oh hi there. Sure, Lan." Hyena gave him a warm smile. "I heard what you said earlier. Well, earlier before we leave your house." He said. "What do you mean?" She innocently asked. "You said that you like me. What kind of like, exactly?" He uttered with whole sarcasm. Hyena did not expect that Lan has this side who loves to have some real talk. "Well, I like you as guy and a best-friend too." Shyly, she uttered those words.

Lan smiled at Hyena and pull her close to him. "Would you mind staying close by my side?" He asked. Hyena excitedly move her head left and right, shaking it. "You're beautiful, Hyena. For real." Amazement glittered in his eyes. Lan placed his right hand over Hyena's right shoulder. Hyena did not bother to contadict Lan's actions, for she felt comfortable with him. "I feel comfortable in your arms." Hyena said looking at him dearly. "You're honest. That's why I like you, Hyena." Hyena's face went all extremely red with his words. "Might I ask you something, Hyena?" Lan questioned. She felt a bit nervous about he is about to question, but she did not dare to make it noticeable. Hyena nodded.

Silence filled them up. "Can you be my-" Lan started, yet he was not able to finish his words. "Yes, of course." Hyena excitedly cut him off, thinking Lan wanted her to be his girlfriend. "Okay then from now on, I am your big brother. And Dale is your brother too." Lan gladly said. Disappointment hit, Hyena. She was wrong. For the first time, she felt upset of her thoughts, likewise herself. "What? I thought you agreed to be my little sister?" Lan curiously uttered. "Honestly, I thought that you would ask me to be your girlfriend." She said shaking her head.

Lan chuckled. "It ain't funny, bro." Hyena said feeling upset. "It's okay, sis. You'll find someone who will love you dearly." He said, patting her head. She hugged him. "I wish he is as nice and as kind as you are, bro." She said.

"What a surprise. You did not tell me that you two are into each other." Dale spoke from their behind. They both turned around and saw Dale smirking like he discovered something interesting. "It is not what you think it is, bro." Lan said. "Come on don't deny it, bro. Congratulations." Dale said shaking Lan's hand. "Believe him Dale. He just ask me to be his younger sister and I agreed. So I am your younger sister now too." Hyena boasted placing hands in her hips. "Liar, I won't accept that." Dale argued. "Whether you accept it or not, you have no other choice." She argued.

"No, I don't want to have a stupid sister. Plus, you're not even related to me. Well, except for Lan." Dale said flicking her forehead. "Aw! Who are you calling stupid here, mister grumpy?" Hyena shouted at him. She wanted to kick him but before she could do it, Dale asked her to change the topic. "Where is Lan?" He questioned. Hyena look around them and see no Lan around. Far away from them, Hyena saw Lan running towards their cottage. He is too far from their direction, for they are almost in the forest. "He's back at the cottage first." She uttered, disappointed.

"What the heck are you doing, dude?" She screamed out calling for Dale's attention who was walking towards the forest. "Is he a zombie or something? He's walking like a dead guy. Damn this guy, is he trying to kill himself?" She wondered. Hyena looked at the sunset. "Heck! It is already sunset. I have no other choice." She ran towards the forest where Dale entered, moments ago.

Few minutes later, Hyena did not see Dale. "Where the hell did he go? Dude, come out! Sigh, Dale where are you?" She shouted. She waited for an answer, but rather heard her voice's echoes. "Damn you, bugger! Answer me if you hear me. Dale, where are you?" She again shouted.

The world turned dark and Hyena fell into the deepest and darkest part of the forest. She still did not find Dale. "Gosh, where is he? I can not almost see my way. I don't even know where the way back to the beach is." Hyena shivered in fear. "I am scared of the dark for Pete's sake. Somebody help me. Help!" She shouted for help, but lost her hope when no one came to help her.

She walked for more distance and saw a big tree where can be seen underneath the bright light of the moon, above the sky. She walked towards the big tree and saw a shadow of a man behind it. "Hello? Who is there?" She asked, tiptoeing her way towards the owner of the shadow's direction. "Dale?" Hyena surprisingly uttered, when she saw him lying down the big tree, unconscious. "Dude, wake up. Hey, crazy bastard, wake up. Wake up!" She panickly tried to wake him up. She thanked the light of the moon that gave bright to them. She would not know what to do when there was no moon tonight, for she does not have her neither her phone nor a flashlight. She tried to wake Dale up, but he was still lying unconscious.
