Chapter 10 - Chapter 9

"Oi, this is not funny. Dale, please wake up! Yah you stupid bastard, don't joke around. I apologise for I do not know. Okay now, wake up." She waited for him open his eyes but she failed. "Heck, I have no other choice but to help him, again." She muttered. Hyena slowly moved her face closer to his to give him a cardiopulmonary resuscitation. However, she saw his lips move as if it was expecting for a kiss. She knew to herself that he was playing dead in front of her so, she decided to teach him a lesson. "I have to help him once more." She emphasized each word of hers with a mocking smile.

"Ouch!" Dale screamed out when Hyena slapped him so hard. "Do you think you can fool me, huh?" Hyena glared at him, coldly. "Tss, fool my foot." He said rubbing his aching cheek. "That's my line, bastard." Hyena again argued. Dale pinched her ear all harshly. "Aw! It hurts. What do you think you are doing, Dale? I am going to tell brother Lan about this." Hyena's eyes were filled with tears aching to escape, as she felt the pain in her ear. Dale flicked her forehead saying, "Listen you stupid, I do not care whatever you are going to tell my brother. What I care about is why you followed me here and emoted before me like I am a dead corpse." He maliciously said. Hyena did not know what to say. She felt embarrassed.

Shut up or I'll slap you once more." She warned. "Do it and pay for it." He challenged. Hyena hesitated and chose not to slap him and rather, stood up. "Whatever, I don't care." "Aw!" Hyena fell on the ground as she tried to take a step. Unfortunately, her right leg stucked on the root of the big tree. "Nice, how frustrating. How lucky I am today. Stucked in a forest with a bastard and..." She paused and stared at her bleeding knee. "….And wounded—-unexpectedly cause of stupidity." Dale added up to her unfinished sentence.

Dale moved closer to Hyena and examined her legs. "No fracture at all. Just a minor bruise." He stated. Hyena did not say a word. Dale tore up his shirt and grabbed Hyena's knee. "Can you be more gentle? You're making it worse." Hyena contradicted. "Shut up or I'll break your leg for real." He coldly snapped. He wrapped the tore up part of his shirt over Hyena's wound to stop its bleeding. "There." He said after he was finished with Hyena's wound. "Thanks." "Don't flatter yourself, I did not do it for you. I did it for me so that I would not have to care you on my back, till we get out this forest." He said, crossing his arms.

Hyena clenched her fist trying to conquer her anger. "Gosh, the nerves. You're a real bastard." She muttered. "Can you stand up? We have to go back now. It is already late." Dale asked. "Of course I can. Do you know the way out here?" She asked back. "I wouldn't ask you to come back if I don't know where the way out here." Dale teased. He placed his hands inside his pocket. Hyena slowly pulled herself together and slowly started to take her pace. "It's cold out here." She stated, shivering. "Who told you to wear shorts anyway?" Dale took off the scarf he wrapped around in his neck. "Here, use this for the mean time." He threw his scarf at Hyena's face. "Bitter-sweet." She snapped.

"Why did you even go here anyway? I saw you entering this forest like a zombie." She curiously questioned. "Are you alright?l She concernly asked. "Nevermind. Why do you even care in the first place?" He irritatedly snapped. "Cause I wanted to, got a problem?" She snapped back.

On their way out the forest, Hyena heard a scratching noise not far away from their position. She grasped for Dale's arm and hold it tightly. "Tss, it is just a scratching noise, scaredy-cat." He mocked. "Can you at least, just for once be less bitter? I might actually snap your head off your neck any moment from now." She warned. "I don't care. Move away from me, will you?" Dale pushed her away but she tightened her hold in his arms. "No, I am scared of dark. Do me this favor in exchange for my help to you earlier." She begged. "Whatever." He answered.

Few minutes later, they finally came back to the beach. From the cottage, Leila ran towards Dale and hugged him. "Oh my, where have you been, babe? I was so worried." She emotionally uttered.

"Hyena, Are you alright? Lan told us he saw you went after Dale in the forest. He just said not to worry cause Dale knows the place well." Monic worriedly hugged her tightly. "Hush girl, I am alright. No need to worry, okay?" She caressed her best-friend's back to ease her worries away. "Where Lan, by the way?" Hyena asked. "Lan?" Nick asked. "Yes, where he is?" "He is cooking in the kitchen in the house." Nick responded.

"Okay, I will go to him." Hyena said. "Wait" Leila blocked her way. Hyena raised a brow. "Thank you. Thank you for taking care of my boyfriend." Leila then, hugged her. She did not expect it to happen. She thought Leila only have a bad side but she is also soft and does know how to appreciate things. "You're welcome, Leila." Hyena smiled at her, and Leila likewise smiled at her.

Hyena knocked at the door and Lan opened it smiling at her warmly. "Welcome back, sis." He planted a kiss on her forehead. "Why didn't you search for me in the forest, bro?" She pouted her lips. "Cause, I know Dale will take care of you. Besides, he know that place well for..." He paused. "For what?" She curiouly asked. "Nevermind." He said. Hyena's eyebrows met each other. She thought there might be some reason behind it. Why the siblings gave her 'nevermind' as an excuse. "Hey sis bring these foods to the cottage so that we can have our dinner. I'm sure we all are hungry." He said. "Oh, yeah sure, bro." She answered.
