Chapter 13 - Chapter 12

Just a moment had passed and Lan appeared behind Hyena. He suddenly felt so amaze of her boldness. For ever since, he was the only one who have the might to go against his brother. He knew well that his brother is a prick and arrogant kinda guy, but he's got a soft side. That's for sure. However, even Dale's girlfriend—Leila is like a puppet, doing whatever Dale wanted to.

Lan planned scare Hyena, so he tiptoed and startled her. "Oh my freaking ghost!" Hyena screamed. He didn't expect that she is actually scared of ghost. He burst out in laughter, looking at her reaction. She punch him by his shoulder, and damn he felt the pain. She sure can punch. "Ouch! Easy sweetie. I'm sorry, okay." He said. Still laughing. He can't stop it. "You're a tease. I already told I am scared." She uttered.

Hyena feel so startled. "I thought a ghost was playing trick at me, already." She said. "Come down now, sweetie. I apologised. Here." Lan handed her a blanket and a pillow. "You sleep in the cough, since it is huge enough to support you." He said touching her cheek gently. "That's fine with me, but we're are you going to sleep?" She asked. He shrugged. "Probably on the floor." "No, that wouldn't be fair." She contradicted. "Wait for me, here. I'll be back before you know it."

After a minute, Hyena was already carrying a comforter from her best-friend's room. "What are you trying to do, woman?" Lan said, incredulously. "Quit doubting and we'll sleep on the floor together, for fairness' sake." She uttered. Hyena placed the comforter on the floor, fixing it well. "There." She said. "Wow, aren't you afraid of me?" Lan said doubting her actions. "Of course, not. After all you're my homie. I trust you. Should you touch me some places, where the sun don't shine?" She said winking at him. "You're insane. You trust others easily." Lan whispered his last sense to himself, that Hyena barely heard it. "What?" "Nothing, sweetie. Come let's sleep, it's already late." He invited her to join him.

The next morning, they all woke up early and spent the rest of the day swimming, bonding, talking and taking pictures for remembrance.

"It is our last night here, why won't we make a small bonfire?" Lan suggested. The rest of the friends agreed to his suggestion and prepared the things they needed.

Nick and Lan were busy lighting up their small bonfire. On the other hand, Monic and Hyena were buying some marshmallows to heat on later, during their bonfire. On their way back to their cottage, Hyena wondered. "I have not seen Leila and Dale since earlier. Where are they?" "I don't know. Probably, dating." Monic responded, giggling. "You think so?" Hyena asked. Monic nodded at her smiling, happily.

"The fire's gonna turn into ashes shortly, yet Dale and Leila aren't still here. Lan, where did they go?" Nick asked to Lan raising both of his eyebrows. "I don't know." Lan answered. "Hi guys, miss us?" Leila muttered joyfully clinging unto her boyfriend's arm. "You both finally made it back." Lan joked. "Shut up bro." Dale contradicted. From heating her marshmallow in the near fire, Hyena raised her gaze up to the couple. She smiled to Leila, widely. "Congratulations Leila! You two are in good terms now." Hyena said cheerfully. "Yes, congratulations to the both of you." Monic supported. "Cut the crap, what do we have here?" Dale cut off. "Bonfire, boy." Sarcastically uttered by Nick.

The couple sat down on the sand together with the others. "Tell us what happened way back then." Lan said to Dale. "Why me?" Dale muttered irritably. "I want to hear it from you." Lan paybacked. Dale let out a sigh of defeat, while the others were interestingly waiting for him to speak up.

"Fine, I brought Leila to the forest, apologised for my mistakes and spent some time with her. The end." Dale shortly storied. "Is that all?" Monic asked. "You're a great story teller." Nick snapped. "The tempreture here is hot, yet you're freaking cold, lil guy." Lan teased moving his head left to right and vise versa. "You finally realised that Leila loves you dearly and you can't afford to lose her." Hyena uttered laughing. Together with her, the others also laughed. "Jealous stupid?" Dale snapped back to Hyena smirking. "You don't have to be jealous of us, Hyena. You'll not get a chance to have my boy for he's terribly in-love with me." Leila boasted again. "Here we go again." Hyena said unbelievably.

'There's no way in hell would I want someone like him.'

They filled the night with laughter and joyful memories, through talking and knowing each other more.

"Phew, that was a great outing. I hope there'll be another one soon." Hyena said to herself after she entered her house. It is ten in the morning. They left the beach early in the morning so they could rest before the day ends. "Welcome back home. I miss my soft bed." She said craving for her bed's consolation. "I'm so tired. I'll take a nap for some time to feel better." She closed her eyes and fell into a deep sleep.

"Ding-dong ding-dong..." The sound of the doorbell. "Hmm, Who's bothering my sleep?" Hyena looked at outside her window and saw the sunset. "Gosh it's already 5:45 in the afternoon. What the heck is wrong with the doorbell? So loud and annoying." She went downstairs hurriedly and open the door. "What the heck is wrong with you can't you see I'm sl--" She was not able to finish her sentence when she recognized who's in front of her. "Dale, what are you doing here?" Hyena asked to Dale, astonished. "Leila's having a farewell party in her house next week." He said. "Farewell party? For what?" She asked. "She's going to States for another tour." He responded. Hyena stared at him for a minute and did not speak anything.

"If you're wondering why I am here, wonder no more. I just came here to inform you this. That's all, goodbye." Dale started to walk back to his car. Hyena wanted to know why it is him who informed her. So, she followed him and grabbed him by his arm. "Wait, why it is you who informed me? Why not Monic, or Nick, or Lan?" "Cause Leila and the others wanted to. Besides, they said they're way too exhausted to drive by your place. Is that reason enough?" He irritably uttered. She nodded at him. Dale pulled his arm away from her grasp, entered his car, and drove off "Weird." Hyena said to herself.
