Chapter 19 - Chapter 18

"I own Coby, but I'll give him to you if..." He thrilled.

"If what, mister?" Hyena asked thrilled. "I'm Whithy." He introduced himself.

"Hyena"

"Call me Pal and I'll call you Pal too. That's our call sign."

"What? Gross." "You have no other choice Pal."

"Okay, back to the topic." Hyena cut off. "What was that if you were talking about?" She added. "I'll give him to you if you'll agree to be my friend."

"Is that so?"

"Yes as simple as that."

"Okay, I agree."

"Good but you have to give me a permission to check Coby anytime I want to." Whithy said. "Fine after all you're his real owner." Hyena approved. "Finally you claimed it."

"Claimed, what?"

"That I'm Coby's real owner."

"Meow, meow, meow~" Coby snuggles in his lap as comfortable as he used to do with her. "Yeah." She smiled to him.

Whithy looked like Dale in Hyena's point of view. However, they differ in face structure. Whithy's face structure is a bit rounder than Dale's. Even in their body structure and height. It is way too similar with each other.

"We're here." Hyena informed the guy beside her. By the light coming from the street light and her car's headlights, she noticed that his arm is bleeding. "Hey Whithy, are you alright? You're bleeding." She asked worriedly. "Yeah, just a little bruise from earlier ground meeting." He joked. "Quit joking for a moment, will you? Come inside of my house. I'll treat that before you go home." She said. She climbed off the car first and turned to his side to open the kerb for him. "Bring Coby with you. Grab on my shoulder. I'll help you out." She ordered. "But-"

"No more buts." He shrugged, took Coby in his arm and grabbed on her shoulder.

"Aw, be gentle, woman." Whithy complained. "Afraid of small cuts, yet not afraid of dying." She uttered mockingly. "Thank you, you're a good friend, woman." He said, giving her a bitter smile. "You're welcome." After she cleaned and put a dressing on his bruise, she noticed some contusions in his arm. "Where these things came from?" She curiously muttered. "I don't know, might be from the bruise I got?" He uncertainly said. "Ow, alright then, you can go home now. Just take care of your bruise. Clean it and avoid exposing it to dusty places." She adviced. "Thanks again. I'll see you around."

"You're welcome."

"Meow, meow, meow~"

"Goodnight Coby. Behave with her, okay? Goodnight, Pal." Whithy said, leaving Coby with her in the living.

"Hey Coby, you didn't tell me your boss is a lunatic and a very easy to get along with." She caressed Coby's head and lifted him up in her arms. "Come Coby, I have a surprise for you." She went to her car, open the back portion of it and placed Coby down in it. "Ta-da, do you like it?" Coby lay down the soft black, medium size cotton pillow, for cats. "Meow, meow, meow~" "You're welcome, my Coby." Hyena lifted the pillow carefully, trying to avoid Coby from falling down.

Hyena placed the cat's pillow near her bed. Then, she she kissed him saying, "Have a good night sleep." They both laid down in each sleeping accoutrements and fell asleep.

The next day, Hyena woke up feeling a little uncomfortable. "Good morning Coby, how was you-" A loud bang downstairs alerted her, incredulously. "What was that noise? Coby, let's check it out." She grasped for the serrated blade she has been keeping under her pillow. Holding the knife tightly, she tiptoed her way down. In the kitchen, she saw a man picking up a pan on the floor. She aimed the knife directly to him, gathering all her might to fight back if something bad happens. "Put your hands up or else I'll stab you, intruder." She warned. He stood up raising his hands up into the air, slowly facing her. "Are you sure, woman?" Whithy asked smirking. "Whithy! What are you doing here?" She asked startled.

He took the knife away from her hands, then picked up the pan, placing it on the stove. "I'm cooking." He said. "It's obvious but how did you end up here? Keys?" She clenched her fist aiming it to him. "Easy, I sneaked in. No keys. I used a clip."

"You intruder! What are planning to do?"

"I'm just trying to cook something for you." "Really?"

"For real. I wanted to surprise you but I accidentally dropped the pan. Perhaps it woke you up."

"Indeed." Hyena stopped her gaze on the pancakes placed over the table. "Wow, a lot of pancakes. There're also eggs and bacons. Mhm, smells good. You cooked all of this?" "Yes, I did." Whithy served her a plate and a plate for him too. "Let's eat?" He asked. "Sure."

"Burp~" Hyena burped in response to her full stomach. Whithy, then giggle in accord to her reaction. "I just noticed, you are more handsome when smile, Whithy." Hyena complimented. "Does it mean that even if I am serious, I am still handsome?" He teased, thinking she would give him a 'No'

"Yes, you are." Hyena uttered unmaliciously. She saw him blushed and found it cute for a man to blush. The same reaction she got from Lan when he drove her to his brother's birthday party. "Don't sneak in to my house again, Whithy. Well, I think you're a good person. And, somehow I keep having the feeling as if I've known you somewhere, before." Whithy didn't speak. He rather waited for her next word. "I'll give you my house's duplicate." Hyena said. "Are you sure?" Whithy asked her not believing her at once. "Yes, excuse me, and I'll go to the bathroom. Hyena excused. "You trust people, easily." Whithy added before she could leave.

When she has gone out the bathroom, she saw Whithy feeding Coby in the living. "Whithy? Can you look for the house and Coby for awhile?" Hyena asked to him politely. "Why?"

"I'll just go buy something in the near store." She said. "I'll buy it. Tell me what is it?" He stood up nodding at her. "Well. Sigh, sanitary pads, man. I'm on my period." She shyly uttered. "Is that all? No need to be shy. Wait for me here, okay?" He ought to leave but Hyena grabbed him by the arm. "Just a second, buy me some dark chocolates and ice creams as well, please." She handed him her billing card smiling at him sweetly.

"Ding dong~" Sounded the doorbell. From sitting on the cough, Hyena stood up to open the door. "You're quite fast, Pal. Did you bu— Monic?" "Who's Pal are you referring to, Hyena? Do you keep someone here?" Monic walked pass her. "What are you doing here, Monic?" Hyena placed her hands on her hips. "I have something to tell you."

"What is it?"

They both sat down on the couch, facing each other. "Do you still remember the boy we used to play with, when we were in England? Back when we were still nine years old?" Monic asked Hyena full of hopes. "I have a very little recollection of it, why? Hyena uttered uninterested. "Very little recollection? You don't really remember him?" "What's the point anyway?" "Hyena, he is here in Edinburg and what more is..." Monic paused expecting her to be thrilled.

The door opened, and there Whithy appeared. "Pal I bought your— oh, I see you have a visitor. Wait, Monic?"
