"Hey fellas, what do we have here?" Lan greeted Monic with a kiss on her cheeks. He stopped by the guy opposite here. "Hey there, man. I have not seen you before." The guy stood up and shook his hand. "Yo man, I am Whithy, Hyena and Monic's childhood friend from England. Please to meet you." Lan returned the same warm smile Whithy furnished him. "I am Lan, Hyena and Monic's friend as well. Pleased to meet you."
After their introduction, Land settled beside Lan. Opposite of Monic and Dale. "Right, that is my younger brother, Dale." Lan pointed at Dale's seat, gesturing a friendly introduction to Whithy. "Yo, man. It's nice to meet you." Whithy greeted. He gave Dale a warm smile, as though Dale returned it with a very light nod. "Don't mind him, Whithy. Dale's colder than ice, at times." Monic interjected. Which, caused them humour. They laughed out loud, except from Dale.
"So, what's up?" Dale nonchalantly uttered just to cut off the laughter around him. It deafening. Monic turned to him and let out a scorn. "What?" He snapped. "That was lame." Monic snapped back. He did not have time to waste. What surrounds him is boring. He did not want to come, in the first place. However, Lan insisted him to do so. It was so out of the blue that his older brother would ask to go visit a friend. But then, what can he do? Hyena and Lan were closer than real siblings can be. Which, he finds exasperating at times. No, all the time it comes to mind.
"Oh, nothing really. We were just talking about my plan of marrying Hyena." Whithy uttered. There was a trace of humour on his face. Which, Lan instantly took his word for a mere joke. While, Monic on the other hand shot Whithy a sharp look. "Easy girl, that was just a joke." Lan defended himself against Monic.
"What joke?" Hyena was standing behind Lan and Whithy. She had her arms crossed before her. It took them by surprise. "Our marriage." Whithy proudly uttered. Hyena felt her cheeks burning, so much that she had to look away from them. Especially, when she met Dale's questioning look.
"Hyena, are you alright?" Lan questioned. He sure did notice the sudden change of color of her face. "You're blushing, dear. Are you not?" Monic teased. "Shut up." She could not deny it, for it's way too obvious. With that, they humoured themselves once again, except Dale. Who happened to have his eyes drawn to a line as well as his lips. He looked so pissed off.
Without a word, Dale stood up and stormed off. They had their heads following his direction. He went to the direction of the garden. After he has gone, nowhere to be seen, the group of friends exchanged curious gazes. "What was that all about?" Whithy asked, baffled. Monic shrugged as a response to his query, indicating she does not know why. And, so Hyena did. As a result, they all turned to Lan, who might just have a clue of what was all the storming off of Dale, about. "Don't look at me, I haven't a clue either." Lan snapped.
"Right, excuse me for a second guys, I'll just go take a bath." Hyena excused herself as she took the paper bag that Whithy has placed down at the near side table. She did not wait for them to answer and rather exited the living area quite hurriedly. She stinks. She needed to take a bath as soon as possible, for she's feeling rather uncomfortable. She climbed the stairs up to her bedroom and entered the bathroom.
Hyena took off her clothes as soon as she entered the bathroom. "Sigh, this is so relaxing. This feels so good." Hyena let the water cleanse her body as she enjoy the relaxing feeling that the warn water coming from the shower's furnishing her. After she took a bath, she searched her wardrobe for something to wear, she grabbed a pair of black loose shirt and black loose pants.
As Hyena was climbing off the staircase, she had Dale caught by her sight through the crystal that serves as wall between her back door and garden. He was sitting on the swing, had his head down. Hyena stopped and stared at him for a while. However, he suddenly raised his head and caught Hyena red handed. She met his gaze. Yet, meeting his gaze was a mistake. It was like an electricity numbing every part of her. Nonetheless, butterflies constellated in her stomach.
Instead of going back to the living area, where her friends were settled, Hyena went to the garden. There, she stood before Dale who was looking at her so intensely. For a moment, she was convinced that he was just bored that he stormed off the living room, earlier. However, her curiosity would not let her settle with such baseless assumption. "What are you doing here?" She asked. Dale glared at her as she sat on the grads before him. With that, he was looking down at her, while she was looking up to him, for he sat on the swing. "I could ask you the same." He coldly snapped. "Why did you stormed off, earlier?"
"It's none of your business, stupid." He stood up, about to leave when Hyena spoke. "Well, I'd like it to be a business of mine. Do tell." His ears heated up upon hearing her words. "Woman, you have no idea what you are doing." He's pissed off. He does not know why. Truth be told, it was then when he heard Whithy gagging around about him, marrying Hyena. It boiled his blood. He had the urge to choke the guy, for some reason. He simply despise the thought of Hyena marrying another man. He's gone mad. "I don't see any problem about it, though." Hyena uttered.
He shot her with yet another cold gaze. "Will you ever learn? That's why you're so stupid. You've got none on your head but minding other people's business." Cold water was invisibly spilled all over Hyena. Her eyes widened to his words. How could he say such mean thing to her. Anger flashed over her eyes. Her blood boiled in anger, too much anger that all she wanted to do is to snap his head off his neck.
Without utterance of another word, Hyena abruptly stood up to fight back against Dale. However, the world betrayed her plan. She lost her balance. She was falling and the ground was opening its arms to welcome her on its hard and painful embrace. But then, Dale's strong arms caught her midway. He had her on his arms, faces closed to each other. "See, you just proved how stupid—" He was not able to finish his sentence. He was not able to brace himself. A cat jumped out of nowhere, startling him to an extent that he lost likewise lost his balance.
They fell on the ground. Dale's weight was all over Hyena's body. It's embarrassing. However, Hyena was not able to say a word due to how close their faces were. If any of them would say a word, surely their lips would be brushing each other.
Hyena's eyes were at first glued to Dale's reddish lips. It was tempting. She wanted to feel the touch of it against her lips. Howbeit, Hyena mustered her might to resist the temptation before her. With that, she brought her eyes up to meet his fierce regard. His eyes were already bore at her, that she could see the glimpse of desire arising from those pair. It's too much for her resist. One wrong move and she shall pay for it at great cost. 'No, you mustn't. It's not right.' She reminded herself.
It took Hyena all the courage she left to pull herself together, and gather her senses. When she finally came to her senses, she cleared her throat, pushing Dale off her by her hands. Despite the unmovable weight of Dale, Hyena still tried her best to get him off her. It was then that Hyena noticed him took a couple of blinks before clearing his throat. He willingly get off her. He sat on the ground, silent. Hyena was so flustered upon sitting beside him, trying to garner her strength back. Her face was still all red. "Well, that was clumsily electrifying." She said. "Shit." Hyena heard Dale cussed. She turned to him and he was all tomato red. His ears were like a swollen one.
Hyena shrugged all her dreamy thoughts off about the tempting look before her and stood up. She would rather sit with her friends talking about nonsense than sit with Dale and deal with the growing desire inside her. "I'll go ahead first." She then turned to take her first step from him, but he grabbed her hand.
Hyena have him a curious look. Yet, he uttered no words. Rather, he pulled her to him. Once and for all, she ended up sitting on his lap, locking gazes with him. "Fuck." He cussed out. Withal, his hand travelled from her cheek to the back of her head. While, his other hand wrapped around her wait. Together with him, Hyena's breath drew heavier and heavier with every touch of him.
As he settled his long fingers at the back of Hyena's head, he grabbed her hair and rashly pulled her into a fierce antsy kiss.
