Chapter 17 - Chapter 16

"We'll be heading out now guys." Monic said. Nick kissed her before she rode in the motorcycle. "Take care, babe. You too, Hyena." Nick patted Hyena's head gently. "Take care and send our regards to your parents Hyena." Leila said. "Take care of Hyena, Monic. Get it?" Lan warned. "Yes boss." Monic responded with a salute. Hyena rode in the motorcycle behind Monic. "See you later, peeps." Hyena said. Monic and Hyena pulled down their helmets's lens. Then, Monic started the engine and drove away.

"Thank God you made it on time, sweetie." Mrs. Salvien hugged her daughter tightly. "We will miss you, Hyena. Take care of yourself." "Mom, Dad I'm sorry for being late. We supposed that I'll be dropping you off here yet, I wasn't able to do so." Hyena apologised. "Aunt, Uncle take care and don't forget to buy me stuff, there." Monic interjected, joking around. "Silly you. Okay it's time to go now. See you around Hyena, Monic." Mr. and Mrs. Salvien kissed and hugged their daughter as well as Monic.

"Hyena, why are you crying?" Monic asked to Hyena, when she noticed that she started to cry after her parent's plane flew. "I will miss them, Monic. I just saw them twice since they came back from a business trip, and now they're leaving me again. How I wish I can always be with them." Hyena uttered emotionally. "C'mon dear, everything will be alright. Besides, I am here and our friends. You know, always ready to console you." They hugged each other. Afterwards, they drove off back home.

They reached Leila's place safe and sound. There's no one inside the house. So, they decided to check the backyard. There, they were preparing a long table, decorating and stuff. "Dale can you go buy the things we need here? Just take one of our friends with you to assist you." Lan ordered to his little brother. "Okay, then I'll take this stupid one." Dale held Hyena by the shoulder and winked at her. "What the heck are you thinking?" "Hush, you have no other choice, though." Hyena did not complain anymore. She followed him in Lan's car.

"You're acting weird, bugger." Hyena uttered, while Dale was opening the passenger seat's kerb for her. "Shut up and just be thankful." "Yeah, yeah, whatever. I don't care." Hyena climbed up the car and so he did.

"Hold this." Dale handed her a grocery bag full of baking ingredients. She took it from him and followed him. "What else we are going to buy here?" Hyena asked. He did not answer her. He rather walked inside the jewelry shop. "Wait for me here." He said. "Okay." Few moments later, Dale appeared in front of her holding two wrapped tiny box. "I suppose those are gifts for Leila, right? She's lucky to have you. I hope someday I can find someone who'll treat me the way you treat her. I mean not in the arrogant way." She muttered nonchalantly. "Stupid, quit dreaming, will you? There's always a right person at the right place and time." He said. Then, Dale grabbed the grocery bag from her and held her hand. Hyena was a bit startle in his actions, yet it simply made her heart pound like how it use to when she first met him.

"Don't flatter yourself. I'm just helping you in behalf of my mistakes, nothing more." He said. "Whatever you say. By the way, if I may ask, why aren't you travelling with her? That's odd 'coz most of the couples travels together." "We're not as good as you think we are. Nevermind, I don't want to talk about it." Hyena bit her lower lip, thinking she asked the wrong question. She felt his hold in her hand tightened, his eyes drew a line and lips were nearly unseen. She have a bad feeling about it. She chose not to speak anymore.

For the whole ride way back home, they didn't talk to each other. Atmosphere's gloomy. Situation's awkward. "Babe, Hyena, glad your back now. Come let's eat dinner first before setting up the backyard for the party tomorrow." Leila kissed her boyfriend and cuddled unto his arm. "Leila, I'll go head to my room for a moment. I'll just change my clothes." Hyena excused herself, try to avoid witnessing the couple's intimate actions.

After their dinner, everyone was busy preparing the backyard. They spent hours having it ready. The final result of it was wonderful. Leila let the cook of the house do their part in cooking the foods, as well as baking the cakes and cupcakes for their morning party.

Early in the morning, they held the farewell party. They sure did enjoy it very much. Eating, dancing, singing and playing games were all they did. However, before the party ended, Dale stood up, held Leila in the waist and walked her at the center. There, they stood before everyone else. "Babe..." He started. "I want to give you a present before you leave me again." Dale uttered. He extracted a small box from his pocket and opened it for her. "A necklace." Leila emotionally stared at the necklace with a small heart pendant. "Come..." Dale placed the necklace around her neck and kissed her. "Do you like it?" "Yes, I do. Thank you so much, babe." Their friends gave them a big round of applause. "You look beautiful, babe." Dale complimented.

The party ended well. Each of them gave Leila their farewell messages, ending it with a tight hug.

Apparently, Hyena was driving back to her own home at the moment. Yet, she couldn't be at ease for she has been wondering, ever since Dale had given his girl his present. "I clearly saw he bought two gifts but why did he only gave her one. Is he, no he can't possibly be cheating on her. I know he wouldn't do that to his girlfriend. I know he love her so much." While busy talking to herself, Hyena's phone rang. She lifted it up to her ear, from the passenger's seat beside her and answered it. "Sweetie, how are you doing now? We have arrived here in England safe and sound. I hope you're doing all fine there, sweetie. I miss you already." Her mother said lively on the other line. "Hey mom, I'm fine at all. I'm glad you're safe. Tell grandpa and grandma that I miss them too. I wish to see them as soon as possible." She said. A long silent responded her. "Mom? Are you still there?" "Oh, yeah sweetie. H-how's the party?" Her mother muttered unwillingly in a stuttering manner. She didn't mind it and told her mother that it was great. "Mom, I'll talk to you later. I'm driving home, now. Goodbye mom. I love you." She ended the call, focused on her drive and reached home tiredly.

Hyena settled herself off her bed, after a quick shower. Lately, she realized that she's been way too easily tired and sensed her body's losing some weight, or rather too much weight. "I hope, I am all fine. I hope there's nothing bad happening to me like what Lan had warned me."
