Hyena looked at Monic. She is wearing a knee length aquamarine off shoulder dress, paired with white heels. With a light make up, her bestfriend looks definitely beatiful. "I forgot about it." She said apologetically. Monic wrinkled her nose and pushed Hyena upstairs way to the bathroom. "Go, we have no time for this chit chat. Wash up girl. Fifteen minutes, I'll be waiting downstairs." Monic said with full authority.
Clenching her fist in irritation, Monic left Hyena in her room with no other choice but to shower up. "As always, I can never win against her when it comes to dating stuff." Somehow, the heat of the shower freshened and woke Hyena's system, as she wash off the incredulous morning conundrum she's facing by the running water.
After exactly fifteen minutes, Hyena showed up in the upper most part of the staircase. "Wow, you look dazzling with that simple white dress and a pair of silver heels." Monic complimented her with astonishment in her eyes. Hyena produced a smiled at her bestfriend and walked down stairs, bustily.
"Where are we ought to?" Hyena asked Monic. "Just follow my lead dear and you'll surely enjoy this." Monic smirked before winking at her. "Well, that's intriguing, Monic."
Both of them took the journey to their destination. They decided to use Monic's car for it was already well prepared for their unknown date. "You sure cleaned up your car just for this, huh? You're unbelievable." Hyena commented shaking her head in a gentle manner.
Afterwards, they have reached their destination. Hyena found herself standing in front of an elegant restaurant. Everything in it is expensive, that only rich people can afford. "Wow, I'm not gonna pay whatever we are going to take in there." She said to her bestfriend giggling. "Your wealth will not be harmed, anyway. But no worries, neither the two of us will pay." It was then meaningful smile formed in Monic's face.
Left alone outside the restaurant, Hyena took a moment to analyze what Monic just said. "Is it possible that she brought her boyfriend here? Damn that girl. I'll be out of place once and for all for Pete's sake." She ended her forethought when she saw her friend near the hotel's entrance, waving her hands signing her to come along with her.
"What were you doing? We are late now." Monic scolded Hyena for making her wait in the entrance. "Forgive me. Let's just come inside and eat, for I'm already starving." Hyena coldly uttered. Without hesitation, Monic nodded in agreement.
The waiter assisted them to their table. Where, a guy is sitting—fixing his tie. Hyena knew it. It's her Monic's boyfriend, Nick. "You know what, the two of you can date without me actually. You're way too cruel for a single one like me." She said right after they bucked near their table.
The couple only gave her a sweet yet a teasing smile as Nick helped them settle themselves in their chairs. "Thanks gentleman. Shall we order now? I'm too hung-" "No." Monic panickly shut off Hyena's sentence. "But why?" She's filled with nothing but confusion. Instead of answering her, the couple pointed the empty chair opposite her. Disappointment flooded her. She was actually looking forward for something to stuff her stomach as soon as they get in the restaurant. "Are we expecting someone else to come?"
"Yes . Hyena, we invited someone today. This is a double date, dear." Nick teased. Which, she find disturbing. "Double date? Can't you see I'm single? Are you two playing at me?" She asked in aggravation. Monic and Nick shook their head in respond to her question. Hyena let out a deep sigh. It is her way of calming herself. "Fine I get it now. You wanted to set me up with a blind date to whoever this guy we are waiting is, right?" Again the two before her, slowly nodded.
"I'm sorry, I'm late." A manly voice of a guy standing in Hyena's back, uttered nonchalantly. Hyena slowly turned her head around to see who was the owner of such husky tone. When she conpletely saw the guy, her eyes widened in shock. However, before she could speak a word, the couple already invited him to sit down.
"Hey, Hyena are you okay? You look pale." Nick questioned her. "Well, I'm okay." She answered blankly. Hyena raise her gaze to the guy sitting opposite her. "Who are you?" She asked impatiently. "Right, Hyena meet my friend-" "I am not asking you Nick." She coldly snapped at Nick who was not able to finish whatever he wanted to say.
Monic and Nick were both astonished of how Hyena acted upon the guy's presence. On the other hand, the guy seemed to enjoy her impulsiveness. "My bad." Nick uttered apologetically.
"I know you." Hyena said. The three were again astonished. Nick wanted to ask how Hyena knew his friend when it is their first time seeing each other. Nonetheless, they have crossed each other's paths, once. But, before he could ask, the waiter went to their table and handed the menu and took their order. "Mild wine would do." Monic said beforehead the waiter's leave.
"Excuse me, but I would like to introduce myself to you miss, Hyena." The guy courteously said. Then he continued. "I am Lan Broughft. Pleased to meet you." Lan held out his hand for a handshake. Hyena shook his hand uncomfortably. "Hyena Slavien, pleased to meet you too." She then pulled her hand off his light grip.
"He is the guy we wanted you to meet, Hyena. But, it seems like you know him before already." Nick said. "I saw him in the Gruzly Club." She replied. "Is that so? Then why were you terrified when you saw him earlier?" Monic curiously snapped. "Probably because he was staring at me real terrifyingly back in the club last night. It was like he knew me for a long time and had not seen me for so long that he wanted to crush me into pieces." Hyena nagged without even bothering for a pause.
Monic, Nick and Lan burst out in laughter of what she said. "C'mon Lan is a good guy Hyena. He is a good friend of mine." Nick said humorously. She just giggle in behalf of the embarrassment she felt.
Afterwards, their order came together with their bill. Hyena insisted to pay. However, Lan already handed his payment before she could take out any amout out her pouch. They all enjoyed their meal and latterly decided to go malling.
On their way to the mall, Hyena noticed that Lan has been staring at her ever since they left the restaurant. So, she gathered all her courage to ask him what is his matter. "You're just too beautiful. Especially in a closer way." Lan said giving her a warm smile. She felt her cheeks burning, but not as much as how she felt when he undressed the guy she helped last night.
Spacing out, Hyena tried to forget all the flashing memories of last night in her mind. "Are you okay, Hyena?" Lan asked. She look at Lan who happened to sit beside her. "Yeah I'm fine. Of course I am." Sweat drops fell down her cheeks. "It's kinda hot. Can anyone turn the air-con on?" Hyena's staring to feel hotter and hotter. "The air-con is already on Hyena." Nick snapped at her with in teasing voice. "Lan, can you chill off a bit? I guess my dear best-friend is affected of your hotness." Monic teased. Instead of complaining, Hyena simply laughed with the rest of the peeps inside the car.
