Chapter 21 - A Troubled Childhood- Dieter Perspective

I asked her to be my girlfriend. I did it. I was pooping myself but I did it. Thank lord I did because she said yes. Before the date, Callum told me what happened the night before. About a man being horrible to her. I was going to bring it up but I didn't want to make her uncomfortable or bring back the memories. When I arrived at the door, she had a skirt on showing her gorgeously tanned legs. Her little top gave a glimpse of her small waist. Her hair was the exact same of when I first lay my eyes on her. She had a very natural makeup look. She looked absolutely gorgeous. It took every bone in my body not to kiss every single inch of her perfect self. I handed her the flowers I brought and we set off.

It was so awkward when I asked her. She knew I was nervous because she took my face in her dainty hands and gave me a peck on the lips. When she whispered 'Of course I will.' in my ear, quite seductively without realising, my adrenaline shot through the roof. I couldn't keep my hands of her for much longer.

Her beautiful naked body was laying on my chest and I hand my arm wrapped around her. I was thinking of taking her home. My dad was out so I didn't have to have that akward encounter. I put my shirt on her, not buttoning up all of the buttons. I think she looked her best in my clothes. When we got to the house, I took her straight to the bedroom. I couldn't wait to just snuggle up to her. When we were snuggled up, she pulled herself so close to me it melted my heart. This was the strongest feeling I had ever felt for anyone. We fell asleep to each others embrace.

I woke up an hour and a half after. Arabelle was frowning and twitching a bit, she was having a nightmare. I stroked her forehead with my thumb and hugged her close she seemed to calm down. I was about to close my eyes when I saw a huge tear roll down her cheek. I wiped it away with my hand. Her bottom lip started to tremble. What ever she was dreaming about, I didn't want her to dream about it anymore. I stroked her cheek.

'Hey, hey.' I said gently. Her eyes opened gradually but sadly. She blinked some tears away.

'Are you alright?' I asked, stroking her hair. She quickly wrapped her arms around my neck and held on for dear life, hugging me harder then ever. She burst out into tears. I hugged her back. I held her until she stopped crying.

'Do you want to talk about it?' I asked, still hugging her tight. She shook her head in the crook of my neck.

'Ok.' I said and hugged her tighter. Her grip loosened on my neck, she had fallen asleep on my chest. I didn't move and stroked her back. I wondered what had gotten her so upset then realised it was none of my business. I put my head back and rested it on the pillows before falling asleep.

My alarm went off at 1.30pm. It was a gentle slow song. We woke up together. I slammed my fist on the clock. Arabelle was still cuddled up to me. Her eyelashes were still wet and her eyes were red. She smiled sadly at me.

'Thank you.' she said gently. I pulled her close, her head rested on my shoulder. She kissed my jawline. It made me blush and smile.

'If I talk would you listen and not speak until I'm finished.' she said after a while. She sat up. My shirt was still covering her. One button was closed. One side of the shirt was hanging off her shoulder.

'Of course.' I put my arm around her. She sighed.

'When me and Callum were around 14 we were staying at our uncle's house. My dads two brothers live together. We were playing in the bedroom when we heard shouting and shattering plates in the kitchen. We ran into the kitchen. Plates were smashed everywhere and cupboards were open. Our uncles were screaming at each other. The eldest grabbed a bottle and smashed it around the youngest's head, killing him. He fell to the floor and the my uncle stormed out. Callum ran to the body and called emergency services. The both of us were never the same after that. We were rebels. Graffiti, beating people up, suspensions and expulsions. We were at our worst when we were 16, 17 and 18. The thing that stuck with me the most was how Callum ran to my uncle and was quick to see if he was ok whilst I just froze. My uncle is behind bars for man slaughter.' she sighed again. I looked at her eyes wide.' The dream I had last night was me and Callum running to the kitchen but now as adults. Everyone was there my parents, my sister, River, Harper even Bailey and...you. Instead of a bottle he had a gun and shot my uncle and everyone else in the room and I just froze and didn't stop him, I just watched. My uncle just looked at me and smiled before running out the door.' Her eyes were glistening with tears and she looked at me.

'Awh baby.' I pulled her into a hug and she broke down in tears again.
