Chapter 1 - Breaking Core

Zero felt something break within, it was actually his core. This process was actually created in his last years of living. It was his own way of cultivation. He was the creator and only he knew this method.

The magic core in his body will break into smaller pieces, that usually meant the magic ability of that human will be gone. But if you have enough control of magic you can save the pieces and move them within your body. All of the shards will become magic cores meaning you have many more magic cores then any other human alive , your magic capacity will go up by many times. So will the ability to create soul animals. The cores within your body will first enlarge to a normal core after that you may shared them once more to gain even more power. Usual conversion rate of the shards was one hour making the person unable to use magic for a short amount of time. Of course you may choose to break one mana core out of two if you have them, but it must be known your cultivation will return to mortal realm once more.

Mana users on hit time decided the external abilities and strengthening abilities to 30 realms. Strengthening abilities were merely named by numbers. Going from level 1 mortal to level 10 mortal , level 11 to level 20 prolonging life and level 21 to level 30 immortal, each level has something called inate realm. These realms were decided by three , normal , excessive, genius. These realms were preset on how profound your understanding of cultivation levels was.

The external abilities also known as spell casting abilities were also ranked by level though their titles were different. From level 1 to 10 were named worshiper, level 11 to 20 were named casters, from level 21 to 30 were named saints. Spells didn't have smaller realms they were dependent on mana control and understanding of the spell, they were given a percentage. This percentage doesn't stop you from cultivating levels. Spirit summons weren't ranked they are though the peak of human existence and only those who reached level 30 on both fields could do.

Normal people were ranked by these levels because they only have one core, but Zero had many cores.

He felt tired and sleepy his cores had already healed but now this body needed rest. He got off the floor only to feel some kind of flakes around his body, it was dry blood he realized. He couldn't sleep like this so he took his clothes off. The clothes were painted red from the blood. They were not clean so he picked them up and went to the bathroom found a clean towel that was never used and set it aside from the mess of dirty towels. He picked one of the buckets with water and put his clothes inside to seep into the water and started to clean them, it took a really long time as his body was already weak and blood stains were hard to clean. He sleepy cleaned his clothes until the water got a reddish copper color. He took the clothes away from that bucket, the cleaning of them caused the invisibility formation was also washed away.

He sleepily yawned and dragged his body towards the side of the room where you showered, grabbing two buckets from the ground, he first used one of the buckets to slowly pour water onto his body, this caused the blood that held on his body to weaken and flake off. He didn't stop and soon ran out of water , the blood that was bothering him was gone but he still smelled from the sweat. He grabbed the bar of body soap and washed himself with it. After a good clean with the soap he got the other bucket and slowly pour water once again. It took a while to make sure no soap was left on his body before he took the towel and dried his hair, then he started to dry himself top to bottom.

After the bath , his tiredness attacked him once more, and this time he only had energy to walk to the bed. As soon as his head reached the bed he lost consciousness and started to sleep.

The next time he woke up he found his body curled up and the room smelly of sweat , he didn't care the last person didn't clean nor ventilate the room so he left it as is. His clothes still have some splotches of blood and water not so noticeable ones as his pants were black and the shirt was orange. He clothed himself finding that he slept without clothes nor underwear. He shook his head for a little making his hair sway and fall into place. Without thinking much he dried his clothes with a minor drain spell.

He controlled the room key to the door lock and unlocked it, he closed his eyes and felt his cores. Yesterday night he was to tired to check how many he had. Closing his eyes and focusing within his body he located 13 cores. That was a really good number, considering that in his last life he only had 154 cores even after he broke his core 20 times this time he was lucky. All of them were rank 1 but most had the innate realm of excessive and genius, 40 to 80 percentages. Even at his time he'd still be considered a legend.

After checking his cores he relaxed he was lucky. He didn't want to repeat those core breaks for a while, he didn't want to tire the body out. He opened his eyes and walked towards the door and opened it. Walking out he noticed that it was really early on the morning , no costumers on the tables. He went towards a table and sat in the white chair.

The image of him sitting quietly with a somber expression on his face. A handsome boy with somber eyes waiting to order caused a strong and unforgettable scene. The waitresses were a little shocked but collected themselves, it was only a child there was nothing deep about him.

As they calmed themselves one of the older waitresses took his order. " what you want little one?" Asked the woman. "I'd like the pig soup." He said, actually Zero never had eaten pork soup even in his previous life. He was exited to try this new food. The waitress was a bit shocked at how mature the little boy sounded but still smiled gently. "All right a pork cutlet soup." She again asked "What would you like to drink my boy?" Zero cleared his throat and looked up at her "Only water my throat is dry" he said simply. The waitress nodded and went to put in the order.

After some time the food arrived and to him was presented, a simple soup with the pork cutlets on the end of the bowl. He was given chopsticks and a spoon for the soup. Zero got exited on trying the food, he first started to eat the soup, it was salty but it also had other common healing herbs added and they were keeping the soup fresh to the taste. Once he finished the soup he got to the pork and expertly he pushed mana to the chopsticks making it easy to chop the meat. The meat was weird it was a little soggy. It actually squirted some kind of clean liquid, it was chewy not too much but he found himself getting tired. After finishing three fourth of the pork he let the chopsticks down and drank water. He laid two pieces of copper and another one was put to the side with a paper near it saying for the waitress to keep it.

As he was getting out of the inn he heard a unmistakeable sound of wheels going atop gravel. It was the train of carriage filled by children from the church, they seemed fine but that probably won't stay for long.

Zero quickly bit his thumb and wrote a smaller invisibility formula. Quickly turning invisible , he jumped atop one of the stores. Stepping onto the roof he followed closely the church's trail. It took a while but the train had stoped, it stoped in the middle of the forest, it was still early morning so there wasn't an excuse to stop. When the caravan stoped the pastor and nuns now wearing black robes with a white insignia a the Holy Mane religion. They started to go to the back of the train of carriages reaching the end they opened it up to show many chains and collars.

They got many of them carrying them they reached the first carriage with children. Soon they entered inside and muffled screams were heard from inside. Zero not waiting anymore jumped towards the carriage breaking a small part of the roof and immediately using a blade made of magic to cut a nun's throat. No scream no sound no wasted movement. The nun died. The other people took a moment to respond but soon the pastor rushed rushed towards Zero. Zero without a single breath attacked re shaping the knife into a spear he thrust forward. The pastor not thinking the weapon would change length was stabbed in the head , blood fiches out a little. The spear disappeared and the pastors dead body fell to the ground with a thud.

The nuns screamed, they turned their back to the killer and tried to run, before they could do anything though Zero creating a scythe of magic took their heads. He miscalculated a bit and the slash ended up imbedding itself onto the carriages wooden side.

The kids were scared, this boy killed their kidnappers quickly. It took a moment for them to calm their fear down and one of them realized who this boy was. "Zero that's you!!" As soon as they heard that shout the other kids saw the similarities of the timid boy they knew with this hero.

"It's me, go back to the village. Don't tell them I saved you! Tell them mercenaries killed them and they let you go." Said the purple eyed child to the other kids. It wasn't a order , a question nor a plea it was a threat. They understood what he meant so they nodded they're heads dumbly, the only thing they knew was that the boy changed and he told them to keep that a secret. "The village isn't that far from here. Follow the gravel path in the opposite way the carriage were going" he sighed "don't forget to unlock the others and don't tell them it was me who saved you."

"Go!" The boy shouted scaring them. They scrambled to get up and went to the other carriages opening the doors. And telling them to follow their lead.

Once again turning on his invisibility Zero smiled and went in the opposite direction of the children. Humming a slow tune. He quickened his pace now jumping on tree after tree.
